Kalyani University admission to most of the courses are offered via scores of various state/ national-level entrance exams. However, the university does not conduct any entrance exams on its own, but it accepts a few state/ national-level entrances conducted by West Bengal state. These include WBJEE, WB JECA, WB JEMAT, CAT, MAT, GATE, etc., for admission to BTech, MCA, MBA and M.Tech programmes. For courses such as BCom, BA, BSc, MA, etc., direct admissions are offered to candidates based on their scores obtained in the previous qualifying exam. The Kalyani University CSE average package and other placement details are yet to be released. However, the overall placement statistics for BTech are out. During 2023 placements, 59% of the BTech students were placed. From 2021 to 2023, a fluctuating trend was recorded in the BTech placement rate. Kalyani University admissions are both merit and entrance-based for respective UG and PG courses. For a few UG courses such as B.Ed, BSc, MA, etc., admissions are offered based on candidates' merit scores obtained in their previous qualifying exam. Further, to get admission to courses such as BTech, MTech, MBA, etc., candidates have to qualify for state/ national-level entrance exams. As per the admission process, candidates also have to appear for other selection rounds such as Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds for the respective courses. As per the NIRF report 2024, out of 188 BTech graduates 110 were placed in 2023 placements. Further, 467out of 2,245 PG (2-year) and 16 out of 34 Integrated PG students were placed. Looking at the past three years' data, an improving trend was observed in the number of BTech, PG-Integrated students placed. On the other hand, the number of PG (2-year) students placed has been fluctuating.
