On Admissions
Q:   Does VTU Belgaum accept JEE score?
A:

The undergraduate admissions at our institute are conducted through a comprehensive evaluation process that considers scores from various entrance exams. Specifically, for engineering programs, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) plays a pivotal role in assessing the candidates' aptitude and knowledge in the field. Additionally, for courses related to architecture, the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a key determinant in the admission process, emphasizing the importance of subject-specific assessments.

On the other hand, postgraduate admissions offer a diverse range of programs including M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, MCA, and MCA (Lateral). This variety reflects the institute's commitment to providing advanced education across multiple disciplines. The Master of Technology (M.Tech) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch) programs cater to individuals seeking specialisation in engineering and architecture, respectively.

For those inclined towards management, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is tailored to hone leadership skills and business acumen. Meanwhile, the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program, along with its lateral entry option, accommodates the dynamic needs of the evolving IT landscape.

The institute's emphasis on a diverse array of postgraduate courses underscores its dedication to nurturing expertise across sectors, thereby contributing to a well-rounded educational environment that prepares students for the challenges of the professional world. Overall, the admissions process reflects a commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of students.

The college to stay away from.
Placements: There is no placement system in the first place. The college just carries you forward for five years, and then you are on your own. We only have to find jobs ourselves, as there is no actual guidance from the faculty in job hunting. I would not recommend choosing this course at this institution unless you have other outside connections.
Infrastructure: There are no actual facilities. There is a paan-dabba-like shop as the dedicated canteen. The infrastructure is very old.
Faculty: The faculty is the worst. They target students, spy on them, threaten them with low grades, and fail them in their particular subject. They also make other faculty members target students by spreading lies about them. Once your name gets stuck, there is no going back. They taunt and target you for the whole five years. Faculty is very egoistic, except for a few who actually bond with you as the next generation and guide you. Once, a lecturer came on a study tour with us at our expense and even took reimbursement from the college for the study tour expenses. From her casualness, it was very normal among the staff.
Other: I chose the college and course because it is in my hometown. But faculty just gets on your nerves.

The college is good, but placements for branches like mech and civil are not good.
Placements: 60-70 percent of students get placed every year. The highest package is 16 LPA. The lowest package is 2.5 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Bosch, Dassault Systèmes, Tata, and Mercedes. Around 30-50 percent of students get placed for internship with Toyota and TCS. Roles offered are Design Engineer, Graduate Engineer, and R&D Engineer.
Infrastructure: Labs are good, but PC's are not perfect according to the software requirements. Wi-Fi is provided and there is a separate library for us and a central library for all. The mess food is around 5/10, and sports are given good preference.
Faculty: Most of the teachers as mentioned before, have PhDs, and some have graduated from IITs, so teaching is 8/10. As the college is autonomous, the syllabus is updated according to the current industry needs. The difficulty is 07/10. Pass percentage is 60-70 percent.
Other: I have completed a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering so I will continue the same course further. It involves/teaches you problem-solving, which is one of the top skills in today's life. Backlog fees should be reduced. Events are top-class every time famous internet sensations are called. 10/10.

Good academics and supportive faculty and a great overall campus life.
Placements: Placements in our course are quite good although they depend on students' skills and preparation. Many companies visit the campus for both core ECE and software-related jobs. The college also provides internship opportunities which help students gain practical experience and understand industry requirements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for ECE is good, and the department has proper classrooms and laboratories for practical learning. The labs have equipment required for doing experiments and projects. The campus has good hostel and canteen facilities and basic medical support. Overall, the college provides good campus life.
Faculty: The faculty members are helpful and approachable and most of them explain the concepts clearly. Semester exams are moderately difficult and regular preparation is enough to score well. The difficulty mainly depends upon the subject and type of questions asked.
Other: I chose ECE because it gives opportunities in both core electronics and software fields, so there are different career options after graduation. Campus life is also active with technical events, fests, clubs, etc.

Good placements, supportive faculty with a strong learning environment.
Placements: The placement rate of the ISE department is relatively high compared to other departments. Some of the major recruiters include JP Morgan Chase, Capgemini, Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, etc. Students from ISE are offered a variety of roles Software Engineer, AL/ML Engineer, Data Analyst, and QA/Test Engineer. The highest package is 45 LPA, the lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average package is 7 LPA. Due to the current challenging job market, internship opportunities have been somewhat limited. Approximately. 20-30 percent of students from ISE department have secured placements in the last 3 months, but since the placement season is still going on, the percentage might increase. According to last year almost 90 percent of students got placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities provided by the college are good. The ISE department has well-maintained classrooms and labs with good systems and internet connectivity. Wi-Fi is available across the campus, and the library has a good collection of academic books, reference material, and digital resources. The classrooms and labs are generally comfortable and suitable for practical learning, projects, and technical activities.
Faculty: The faculty are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. Almost all the teachers are approachable and willing to help and guide the students. The teaching quality is good with a mix of lessons, quizzes, and flip-class assignments. The curriculum is relevant and it's under VTU. The course covers important subjects for placements like OS, DBMS, CAN, AI/ML, and so on. The ones studied in class are enough knowledge for the interviews. The semester exams are manageable. Teachers talk about important questions and help us well to learn for the exam. The pass percentage is good, and I think almost all can clear it.
Other: CMRIT is good because apart from focusing on studies they are other activities too. There are many club. Each department conducts hackathons according to industry demand and there are many other opportunities for the overall development of the students.

Good college with decent placement and supportive faculty.
Placements: The placement opportunities in my course are average. Around 40–50% of students get placed every year. The average package is around 3–4 LPA, while the package depends on the student's skills. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and Capgemini recruit students.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure with clean classrooms, computer labs, Wi-Fi, a library, and seminar halls. The hostel rooms are decent, and the campus is clean. The mess food is average but hygienic. Sports facilities like cricket and football are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, qualified, and experienced. Most teachers explain the concepts clearly and support students during practical sessions. The curriculum covers important subjects related to the industry, but students should also learn extra skills.
Other: I chose the course because I am interested in Computer Science and software development.

Those who are just looking for a degree certificate can easily choose this college.
Placements: Only 40% of members get placed by training companies. I am not sure about the highest and lowest packages. There are no top recruiting companies. Around 60% of members get internships at training companies, mainly companies like Pentagon Space, QSpiders, and JSpiders. The roles offered are Java Developer and Python Developer.
Infrastructure: There are no such good facilities available in the hostel. Basic requirements are not provided to students, such as Wi-Fi and labs. In the hostel, there is no proper power supply or water facilities. Coming to the food, there is no proper hygiene in the hostel, and many students suffer because of this.
Faculty: The teaching quality is below average. There are no proper teachers available for teaching particular subjects. From the 2nd year to the 4th year, the same teachers teach the subjects. Coming to the semester exams, they are conducted very strictly. The passing percentage is 60%.
