Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham signs LOI with University of Twente, Netherlands

On October 16, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham signed a “Letter of Intent”(LoI) with University of Twente (Universiteit Twente-UT), Netherlands aiming to combine the strengths and enhance the quality engineering education and research with the perfect mix of scientific excellence and societal benefit.

Chancellor Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) and Dean, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) Prof. Joost Kok, signed the LOI in Houten, Netherlands.

The LoI proposes to offer Integrated Program ' AMRITA-UT 3 + 2 Master I-Tech' (3 + 2 I-Tech program) to students of Amrita and UT beginning next academic year. In addition to the Student Exchange Agreement, Amrita Live-in-Labs ®, UT's Curious U Summer School, Amrita is continuing to expand joint work with UT in the fields of risk management, omnipresent applications and now in Interaction Engineering.

This event was attended by Managing Director Faculty EEMCS Prof. Stephan Maathuis; Programme Director Creative Technology / Interaction Technology from UT Prof. Dr Alma Schaafstal; President Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri; Dean, International Programs Dr Maneesha V Ramesh; Dean, Postgraduate Programs Dr Krishnashree Achuthan; Dean, Faculty of Sciences Dr Bipin Nair; and Associate Professor and Lab Director- Computational Neuroscience School of Biotechnology Lab Dr Shyam Diwakar.

It was in 2017 that a team of delegates, including renowned faculty members from the University of Twente, Netherlands visited Amrita School of Business Coimbatore. The visit was aimed at examining and evaluation of academic research methodologies of researchers of this B-School. In return, the delegates also shared their research experiences, academic backgrounds, and also interacted with lot of professional researchers there. This visit strengthened the relation between two universities.

Apart from this, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has strong relationships with number of renowned universities across the globe. The institute has a separate cell named Amrita Center for International Programs.

Over the years, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has built working relationships with many of the world's best universities. In the international work of the institution, the Amrita Center for International Programs plays a developmental, strategic and co-ordinating role, seeking to provide quality support both internally and externally.
