MIT-WPU offers a three-year BCA course in Science specialisations. The university also gives options to students to choose a four-year UG programme, where they will be awarded a (Hons.) degree at the course completion. Each subject within the Programme aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of politics and governance—a skill set essential for political leaders. What sets MITSOG apart is its commitment to fostering relationships between students and prominent state and national leaders and officials. By engaging with these veterans, students gain firsthand knowledge and insights derived from years of practical experience. Since the inception of the MPG Programme, around 350 national-level leaders from politics, social services, bureaucracy, judiciary, media, and corporate sectors have actively participated, enriching the learning journey.
The Programme's highlights include off-campus internships and extensive education and training opportunities. These internships can be tailored to focus on students' constituencies or core issues, NGOs, media organizations, or political party offices. By spending a minimum of six months with political party offices or leaders, students gain invaluable exposure and establish themselves firmly in the political sector.
Recognizing the need for flexibility, the Programme implements the principles outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Students can choose to "exit" after successfully completing all courses in the first year (semester 1 and 2) and receive a Post-Graduate Diploma in Political Leadership (PGDPL). They also have the option to re-enter the Programme at a later date, ensuring a personalized educational journey that aligns with their career aspirations.
