Each assignment given at CVV provides a learning opportunity to explore different topics in depth, says Sivapriya

BCom is one of the most sought after courses these days with millions of students enrolling each year, across the country. Thus, it is important to ensure that the programme that you take up stands out from the rest. This is what made me choose Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth. The BCom programme at CVV is well designed with respect to the subjects offered as they include various electives, minors and professional skill-training courses. These are structured in a way that the concepts covered are at par with other professional courses in this field such as CA, ACCA and ICWA.  More importantly, the flexibility provided by the University allows me to choose additional elective subjects and minors according to my aptitude and requirements.

Having completed my schooling from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth was my first choice as I was confident about the quality of education of the Chinmaya institutions.  The day Class 12 board exam results were declared, I booked for a campus tour through the CVV website. I visited the campus and met a few faculty members and heads of the various departments who provided me with details of the programme as well as an overview of campus life at CVV. I compared the curriculum with that of other universities and courses.  From all of this, I was convinced that CVV was the best choice for me.

At CVV, campus life is a fulfilling experience. Apart from the classes, various student societies such as the Bharata Society for cultural activities, Grantha Club, Sports Club, etc. hold regular events. The University also encourages and supports students to participate in intercollegiate fests. For the past two years, I have also got the opportunity to be a part of the organising committee of the annual intercollegiate fest hosted by CVV.

Another unique aspect of CVV is that each assignment given provides a learning opportunity to explore different topics in depth. This is facilitated by the University library with its extensive resources. I feel that doing this not only increases knowledge about a topic but also generates interest for the subjects. The faculty members guide each student at every point, by providing personalised feedback and sufficient scope for improvement. The college also provides off-campus internship opportunities for undergraduate students which gives us practical exposure of the corporate world.

Upon completion of my degree, I plan to study Chartered Accountancy. Though my initial plan was to enrol for the professional skill courses after the completion of BCom classes, but CVV helped me in doing the courses along with my graduation. I have passed the foundation level and I’m now preparing for the intermediate level. This will enable me to enter the final level right after my graduation
