Chandigarh University is a good university. It is a private university that is accredited by NBA and with an A+ Grade by the NAAC. In addition to this, CU is approved by UGC, AICTE, BCI, NCHMCT, PCI, COA, NCTE, AIU, and CSI. As per the latest placement report, 858 recruiters participated in the placement process and placed 9,124 students of batch 2023 in new-age job roles. The highest domestic and international packages offered during Chandigarh University placement 2023 stood at INR 170 LPA and INR 54.75 LPA, respectively.

As per NIRF 2025 rankings, CU is ranked 31 under the 'Engineering' category and managed to improve its position from the last year's ranking, which was 32 in the year 2024. CU has set records for engineering education & is ranked among the Best Engineering Colleges in Punjab, India.

Recognized by SIRO (Scientific and Industrial Research Organization), CU incorporates wide-ranging and profound research activities with the University scholars conducting research in practically every domain. The university has a separate annual budget of Rs 15 Crores dedicated to research. Apart from it, Chandigarh University's research is strengthened by an additional 52 Crore of funded research by the government bodies and corporates.

Additionally, there are 20+ Centers of Excellence where students, researchers and the faculty carry out their research to develop understanding and generate solutions. Similarly, the 50 Research Centers on the university campus have 67 funded ongoing projects in various domains.

One of the many research centers on the CU Campus, the Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science & Technology is one of the prominent research centers in India and has been in the limelight for multiple reasons. A center for research and the university’s own Satellite Ground Station,  the Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science & Technology has facilitated the students in creating their own student-satellite and much more. It was this research center where India's 1st IoT & AI-based Satellite was designed and developed by the students of Chandigarh University.

Chandigarh University is approved by the UGC as well as by the AICTE. It has been accredited with the prestigious A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Other memberships and approvals include the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), BCI, PCI, COA, NCTE, AIU, CSI, etc. The university was established in the year 2012 by an act of the Punjab State Legislature. Moreover, the university has industrial collaborations with IBM, TCS, SBI, Virtusa, SHRM and academic collaborations with the State University of NY-Albany, and others. Also, CU has been ranked by NIRF 2023 Rankings under various categories. It has been ranked 27 in the University category.

Q:   Is Chandigarh University good for BCA?

Yes, Chandigarh University is considered a good option for BCA. The institute offers BCA popular specialisations, such as -
