It has a well-equipped campus with good placements and supportive faculty.

Placements: Around 85% of students get placed from our batch. The highest package is 12 LPA, and the average package is 5 LPA. The lowest package is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Capgemini. Many students got internships in similar firms, etc. It is also very good in placement duration.

Infrastructure: Our department has smart classrooms, well-equipped labs, high-speed Wi-Fi, and access to a central library. Hostels are decent with clean rooms, average mess food, and medical support. It has good sports facilities like basketball, cricket, and a gym. However, other facilities are also good.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable, with many using practical teaching methods. The course curriculum is mostly industry-relevant with updated content. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty. The pass percentage is 85-90%.

Other: I am part of the B.Tech CSE batch 2022-2026. I chose this course due to my interest in coding and technology. The best part is hands-on projects and regular industry exposure. I wish there were more advanced electives and startup support. The campus organises good fests. It has an energetic crowd, decent connectivity, and active extracurricular activities.

With supportive faculty, decent placements, and a good campus life.

Placements: In our course, around 85% of students are successfully placed. The top recruiting companies included TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and also IBM, Accenture, PWC, Oracle etc. came for recruitment. Some students also received offers from start-up and mid-level tech firms. The highest package offered is around 18 LPA, the lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average package is 5-6 LPA. Around 60% of students received internship offers from companies such as Internshala, Aiwallha etc.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure for all departments is good. We have Wi-Fi-enabled labs, modern classrooms with projectors, and a well-maintained library in our college. There is good average mess food, a gym, medical facilities, doctor visits, CCTV, a playground, and 2 or 3-seater rooms. IEM is the best.

Faculty: Most of the faculty members are well-qualified and supportive. They are approachable for doubts and conduct extra classes during exam time. The teaching methodology includes both theoretical and practical learning, with assignments and projects. The curriculum is mostly up-to-date and covers key subjects. However, there is room for improvement in terms of including trending technologies like AI-ML and cloud computing. Exams are held semester-wise and are moderately difficult but fair. Overall, the curriculum prepares students reasonably well for industry jobs.

Other: I chose this course due to my interest in tech and good future opportunities. Campus life is lively with events, fests, and helpful faculty. More industry exposure and updated tech subjects would improve the course. Overall, it's a good environment for learning and growth.

Satisfied to be a part of IEM, Kolkata.

Placements: Placements have been phenomenal for the past few years at our college. They have a unique reputation for placements here in Kolkata. Almost 100% of students in our course have been placed already and still, many companies are visiting for further recruitment. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini, LTI Mindtree, etc. From roles like systems engineer to power programmer various roles have been offered.

Infrastructure: Every lab has Wi-Fi facility, and even our library has one as well. We have pretty large classrooms with attached benches and desks. There is an abundant focus on club activities as well which includes sports and teach-fests too. The quality of the facilities in our hostels is unknown to me as I never stayed there. Even the food availability and medical facilities are unknown to me too. However, we have a large canteen consisting of various food items and enjoyable and delicious too.

Faculty: Teachers are indeed helpful in many ways. They are mostly doctorate or pursued Ph.D. The teaching quality is great. The course curriculum is relevant. It does make the students industry-ready. The semester exams are mostly based on what is being taught in the classes. There is no such thing as a pass percentage.

I'm satisfied as the college staff and faculty members are very good.

Placements: Around 90% of students got placed. The average package is between 7 LPA- 8 LPA. The highest package potential is around 18 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Wipro, Oracle, and Infosys, and many students also secured internships. The top roles are analyst, senior data analyst, software engineer, and project manager.

Infrastructure: All the floors have Wi-Fi. The labs are well-equipped with materials and technologies available. The classrooms are neat and clean. The libraries are filled up with a good amount of books. There are many labs like AI labs, programming labs, etc. When I first came into the hostel, I was very nervous about how the hostel would be and how the environment would be, but the hostel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel facilities are very good and the hostel food is also up to the mark.

Faculty: When I got admitted to this college I was very nervous about how the college staff and teachers would be because I was in a completely different environment. The teachers are highly qualified and are also very helpful. They are extremely knowledgeable and the quality of teaching is amazing and is up to the mark. The course is industry-relevant and makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams in the college are quite difficult as the question is made by faculty from other colleges.

The infrastructure is dissatisfying, but the placements are good.

Placements: Almost 95% of the students are placed. The starting package is 3.5 LPA, and the highest package is 17 LPA, offered by a startup company. The average package is 7.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Oracle, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Infosys. The top role offered in my course is Junior Software Developer at Oracle.

Infrastructure: To be honest, the infrastructure is not that good. The Wi-Fi is good, but the labs don’t even have air conditioning. The library is moderate, and the campus only has a basketball court. The canteen is good. The hostels are very poor, and I recommend getting a PG.

Faculty: Faculty members are top-notch and include some IITians. The curriculum is quite good and is enough to make the students industry-ready. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty. The pass percentage is around 90%. The exams are mostly based on what is taught in class.

Other: Try to apply for off-campus internships and take part in more and more tech events.
