NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025: Check Category-wise NIFT Cutoff Ranks

NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 was concluded with the release of the final seat allotment results for various UG and PG-level design courses. The cutoff was released in the form of opening and closing ranks for BDes and MFM courses. The NIFT counselling process went on for 4 rounds for various categories under both the All India and Home State quotas. 

For the General AI category, the overall cutoff varied between 418 and 3837. Among all the courses, the most competitive one for admission was the Master of Fashion Management (MFM). NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for General All India Category

NIFT cutoff 2025 was published for admission to the BDes course and its various specialisations at the undergraduate level and the MFM course at the postgraduate level. Among the BDes course specialisations, the last round cutoff ranged from 2366 to 3837, wherein the hardest specialisation for admission was Fashion Design. 

Overall, the most in-demand course was the MFM course, with the last round cutoff being 945.  This indicates that this course was the toughest at NIFT Shillong. Candidates can refer to the table below to know the first and final rounds of cutoffs for all other courses. 

NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for OBC All India Category

Just as for the General AI category, where the MFM course was the toughest for admissions. Here, too, the same course is the most popular with a cutoff of 855 in the last round. When compared to the General AI category last round cutoff of 945 for the same course, we can say that the competition here is higher in the last round. NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for SC All India Category

To gain admission to NIFT Shillong, students have to appear in the NIFT entrance examination, followed by the NIFT counselling process, to be eligible for admission for BDes and MFM courses. 

For this category, the hardest and the easiest UG specialisations were Fashion Design and Textile Design, with the last round cutoff being 7770 and 8514, respectively. Students can refer to the table below for more cutoff-related information. 

NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for ST All India Category

For this category, admissions were only offered to the UG-level BDes course specialisations. The overall NIFT counselling cutoffs ranged from 4437 to 8755, wherein the two easiest specialisations were Accessory Design and Fashion Communication, with the last round cutoff being 8755 and 7846, respectively. NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for EWS All India Category

For this category, the maximum cutoff required for admission was 7802 for the BDes in Fashion Design course. This means that any rank below this one is considered a safe one, and students would have an easier time with NIFT Shillong admissions.  The overall cutoff varied between 4838 and 7802. NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for General Home State Category

The NIFT entrance examination cutoff results were also released for the Home State quota candidates, for categories like the General, OBC, SC and ST.  According to the first and final round cutoff, the course with the lowest qualifying rank was the Master of Fashion Management (MFM) course, with the cutoff being 738 for both rounds.

NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for OBC Home State Category

The NIFT Shillong OBC cutoff 2025 was released for three BDes course specialisations: namely Accessory Design, Fashion Design, and Textile Design, listed in the order of most competitive to least. The last round cutoff for all three specialisations was 7360, 7751, and 7888, respectively. Aspirants can view the cutoff in tabular form below. 

NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for SC Home State Category

For this category, the most sought-after course specialisation was Fashion Communication, with the cutoff being 6727 in both the first and last rounds. The cutoff being the same could mean that admissions for this course were closed in the initial round itself, and that the majority of the seats were filled already. This same situation can be seen for the Accessory Design specialisation, with the cutoff being 8791 for both the first and final rounds. More details below. 

NIFT Shillong Cutoff 2025 for ST Home State Category

For the ST Home State quota category, the NIFT Shillong BDes cutoff 2025 was only released for 2 specialisations, namely Fashion Design and Textile Design, with the overall cutoff ranging between 5700 and 8594.
