BIT Sindri Admission Overview 2025
BIT Sindri admissions are entrance-based. The institute accepts JEE Main score for BTech admission while MTech admission is based on the institute's entrance test as well as GATE scores. For doctoral programmes, the institute conducts its entrance examination. BIT Sindri affiliated to Jharkhand University of Technology offers 10 BTech and five MTech programmes across 15 departments at UG and PG levels.

But the seats are limited and the candidates with High rank will have the better chance to get it.
The safe side would be a rank of 1L or less in JEE Main or they can attend the JEECE the state entrance exam of Jharkhand for Engineering. The percentile needed in JEECE are not mentioned.

The selection is based on score of the candidates in competitive examination conducted separately for them. The number of seats via lateral entry in all branches are 10% of the normal seats.

BIT Sindri Application Process 2025
Students have to fill JEECE application form to apply for counselling for BTech programme. For other courses, MTech and PhD, Students need to download the application form from the institute and submit it offline or apply online on the official website of the institute. Aspirants also need to pay an application fee to register for the course.
Selection Process
Once the registration is done, aspirants need to appear for JEE Main. GATE score is considered for admission to MTech programme. Aspirants applying for MTech can also appear for the entrance exam conducted by the institute. BIT may also conduct a personal interview round for selected students. For PhD admission, aspirants need to appear for BIT written test followed by a personal interview round.
Merit List and Counselling
Once selected, BIT Sindri releases a merit list. Aspirants with their names in the merit list are required to participate in counselling and document verification rounds. BTech students need to register for JEECE Counselling for seat allotment. Shortlisted students are required to pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

BIT Sindri offers a four-year BTech course spread across eight semesters. The institute offers BTech in 10 specialisations, namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, etc. The institute also offers BTech (LE) for Diploma holders in Engineering. BIT Sindri Application Process 2025
For BTech you need to register for Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board while application forms for MTech and PhD programmes are available on the website of BIT Sindri. The application process is given below:
1: Reach the site www.bitsindri.ac.in.
2: Download the application form for the desired course.
3: Fill the application form with relevant details.
4: Pay the application fee through Demand Draft.
5: Send the application form along with the required docs & Demand Draft in favour of “Director, BIT Sindri” payable at SBI, BIT, Sindri (IFSC Code– SBIN0011812) by speed post/ registered post at the campus.

Commonly asked questions On Application Process
During the JEECE application process, the candidates will have to pay the required application fee. For the General/EWS/BC-1/BC-2 category candidates, the JEECE application fee is INR 500. However, for SC/ST/Female candidates of all categories, the application fee is INR 250. Candidates will have to pay the application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of application will be accepted.
The main thing that matters the most here is the rank. If you have a good rank then of course you can.
Eligibility:
The minimum eligibility is 50% in 12th and JEECE rank or JEE Main rank.
Cutoff:
Cutoff in BIT Sindri is quite competitive, and it gets more competitive with time. Last year the maximum rank which they accepted was 181000 wherein previous year of that maximum was 185000.
Recommendation: The safer side will be 1lakh or less rank in JEE Main. If you got that congratulations but if you didn't get it still try to contact and talk to them. If they have extra seat in any quota then they can manage.

Every year the Birla Institute of Technology, Sindri institute releases their application form in the month of April lately till July after the result of JEE Mains and JCECE examination. As admissions are based on taking these entrance exams into consideration.
