Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
On Application Process
Q:   Can I get B.Tech at CIET with 75 percentile in TNEA?
A:

With 75 percentile, you can get some normal courses at CIET. High cut-offs are frequently found in popular fields like computer Science and electronics and communication compared to less popular ones. Lower cut-off scores apply to categories such as SC, ST, and OBC since seats are reserved for them. The total applicant pool and their respective test results may have an impact on the cut-off scores. A factor that also matters is the quantity of seats that CIET has available in your selected branch.

Visit CIET directly to see the cut-off scores for TNEA candidates in your desired branch. Visit the TNEA and CIET websites to obtain this information. Your chances are favourable if your score is higher than or almost as high as the previous year's cutoff for the branch you want.

Q:   Can I get into CIET with 70% in class 12th?
A:

Typically, a 12th standard qualification with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) is required to be eligible for courses like computer science, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering at CIET. But as of right now, the precise admission cutoff percentage is not disclosed. The amount of applications and the candidates' overall performance are only two examples of the many variables that might cause the cutoff percentages to change from year to year.

Consequently, even if you might be eligible for consideration with a 70% class 12 score, your final admission status will rely on the particular cutoff for the year you're applying. The most precise and current information on entrance requirements and cutoff percentages can be found by often visiting the official CIET website.

AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   What entrance exams are required for admission to BE course at CIET?
A:

For admission to the BE course at CIET Chandigarh, the college accepts one entrance exam – JEE Mains. Candidates with the relevant scores in the entrance exam can get admission to the BTech course. Moreover, before appearing in the entrance exam, candidates must ensure that they complete the basic eligibility criteria, which require candidates to complete their Class 12 from the Science stream with an aggregate of 60%.

Chitkara University has a good environment overall.
Placements: Students are placed, but mostly in campus placements, which are of good packages if a student has more than 9 CGPA. Otherwise, you may have to look for off-campus opportunities. Many students here got placed as interns in JP Morgan in their second year, but they had 9+ CGPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good. The buildings and the park are well maintained. Hygiene is maintained overall on the campus. Regular maintenance and cleaning happen. Even the hostels are looked after if students face any issues regarding light or electronics.
Faculty: Some teachers are really good, and others are average at teaching. But honestly, it depends upon students having done their assignments and research on time in order to excel in their academics and improve their skills and knowledge. Otherwise, teachers here provide good academic support.
Other: My batch is AIML batch, and we have 6 subjects including Maths and subjects like Python and Web Development in the first year.

I am fully satisfied with my college option.
Placements: More than 85 percent of students are placed in my college. The highest package offered is 1 crore by Amazon, and the lower packages are like 4 to 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Infosys, etc. The top roles in the companies are HR faculty and data scientist, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is of very good quality. All the stuff is in very good condition, and the staff is also very cooperative. The labs are properly furnished and kept neat and clean. The food quality is nice, and it is regularly checked for safety measures for the future.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, always encourage us to be motivated, and help in every situation possible. The teaching quality is at its peak. Students are offered industry trips to explore more real-life industry scenarios. Semester one is moderately difficult, and the pass percentage is kept at 40 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in becoming a software engineer. I want more knowledge, want to explore more in my field, and want to explore my potential.

Offers practical, industry-focused learning with good faculty and strong placements.
Placements: As far as I’ve heard, most people get around 5–8 LPA, with 12–15 LPA for the top 10 percent of students. Overall, the placements are decent, with a good alumni network in many companies like Wipro, Nvidia, Adobe, and Flipkart. Quite frankly, you’ll need to do most things on your own to secure a placement.
Infrastructure: Both CSE buildings are well maintained, with air-conditioned lecture halls and good seating. Wi-Fi works well. There is also a decent-sized library. Almost every sport is available, with proper equipment and gear. The gym is good overall.
Faculty: Most professors are helpful, some might be a pain, but overall, most of them are friendly. All professors are well qualified, and some go out of their way to help students. The curriculum is well taught. Exams are of medium-to-hard level, and the pass percentage is decent.

Discover your potential at Chitkara University. Opportunities await you.
Placements: About 30-40 percent of students were placed in higher salary jobs in the 1st passout batch, i.e., 2021-2025. The highest package offered was 50 LPA, and the lowest was 2-3 LPA, with the average being 5-6 LPA. Top roles offered are AI engineers, prompt engineers, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, brilliant classrooms, big libraries with every book on each and every topic taught available. No idea about the hostel, though, as I'm a day scholar, but the sports facilities are to the students' benefit. Overall, the institute offers you the best facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helping and highly qualified, but you'll have to self-study, because they have knowledge, but some of them do not know how to explain the topic to the whole class. Course curriculum is relevant, ours is one based more on practical knowledge and implementation than theory. Exams are moderate, if you study daily for even 2-3 hours, you'll easily score well.
