Great infrastructure and placement.
Placements: Around 80% of the students are placed in the course. 8 LPA is the highest, 4 LPA is the average, and 1.5 LPA to 2 LPA is the lowest package offered at the college. Top recruiting companies like Wipro and LNT come for recruitment. Maximum students get internships in the desired core course and in companies they prefer. Top roles offered in the courses are HR manager and software engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities such as Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, and all are good indeed. The quality of hostel, food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, sports, and games are well enough and are well maintained with proper discipline undertaken by the staffs.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified with Ph.D. degrees, and knowledgeable. Thereby, the quality of teaching is also efficient. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are actually not difficult if studied on a regular basis, then its easy to pass. The pass percentage is also around 98% in each semester.

It is a good college with good faculty members, infrastructure, and everything.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed in the course. The highest package is 7 LPA. The average package is 4 LPA. The lowest package ranges from 1.5-2 LPA in our course. Top recruiting companies such as LNT and Wipro hire students. Around 90% of students get internships at RRB. Roles such as software manager are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There is a Wi-Fi system with AC, labs, a library, and smart classrooms. The quality of the hostel is good with proper management of good quality food, electricity supply, and medical facilities. There is a sports arena too for everyone. There is a big field where football is being practised. It also has cricket and other sports.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are PhD holders. Their teaching quality is also effective. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams in college are not very tough, and if students study well, they can pass with a good percentage.

CGEC review by 2024 batch (CSE).
Placements: The college is very poor if you consider on-campus placement. In 2024, not a single company visited our campus. But many students get placed off-campus. The highest package in our batch was 9 LPA, and the average was 3-4 LPA. 10-15 students got off-campus placement out of 62 students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not so good because it's a new college. An efficient amount of classrooms are there. There is only one library, but there are no relevant books in that. The canteen is present on campus but has been close since 2-3 years.
Faculty: Faculty is average. The course curriculum is outdated and needs improvement according to recent technology. There are 4 CA exams in which you can score easily and a final semester exam. You can easily get good marks in these semester exams if you study well for 7 days before the exam.

Absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of the college area, the faculty, and everything in college.
Placements: About 80% of the students of the department are being placed in the course, and the highest package leads to around 10 LPA and the lowest is around 2 LPA. Companies such as Wipro, L&T, Amazon, and Flipkart are mainly the top recruitment companies. 100 percent internships are being given. Roles like HR and software engineer are being mainly given.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite well maintained. CCTVs are installed, Wi-Fi has proper high internet, and classrooms are well maintained with chairs, tables, benches, and smart boards with projectors. The library is also well maintained, and the hostel is also maintained, the food is also properly cooked and proper health charts are being maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, they tend to help by giving notes and everything. This course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are a bit of trouble, but that's what every student thinks; otherwise, the papers set are easy to answer.

Review of Coochbehar Government Engineering College.
Placements: The placement scenario in this college is very average, especially in the civil engineering branch. The mechanical or CSE branch students get good placements. So if we want to get admission to these branches then students are welcome. L&T and other MNC companies visit this college for placements.
Infrastructure: Hostels are very bad, and we can get a hostel when we are in the 3rd year. The infrastructure is very bad. On rainy days, water comes into the classroom. There is a lift in this college but I did not see to use of it. Maybe, they do not want to risk their life.
Faculty: Very difficult questions are asked in the semester. So we have to start our semester preparation from the beginning. If we are planning to get admission to this college then we must get a PW, Unacademy, or other coaching, unless we will fail in exams. Teachers are very good. But some of them do not give good CA marks.

Average faculty members, Placements are below average, lacking improvements.
Placements: Placements vary every year. Like 20-30% of Core branches (including mine: EE) get placed on-campus, and the rest of the Non-Core branches get around 40-45% from on-campus placements. Top recruiting companies for Core are L&T, TEECL, offering Graduate Engineer Trainee roles. The highest package in Core is around 6-7 LPA, and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Most students in Core go for training from every Core branch; rarely do they go for internships in companies like TATA Power. The top role in my course is only: GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee).
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi throughout the whole campus. Labs are average, and classrooms are well-equipped with infrastructure (like projectors, boards). A digital library is available, and there's much space in the library building. Hostels for girls are available from the first year, but for boys, they are available from the 4th year only. The canteen has not been open for the last 3 years due to internal issues. Hostel mess food is average, and no medical facilities are available. There are 2 big open grounds for sports and gaming.
Faculty: Most skilled teachers are in Non-Core branches (ECE, CSE). All of the faculty members either have Ph.D. degrees or graduated from IITs or NITs. Teaching varies from teacher to teacher. The course curriculum is relevant, but it depends on the job role you are looking for, and yes, it does not make students industry-ready. You have to work for yourself; don't rely on the college teachers. Semester exams are managed by the university board: MAKAUT. The difficulty level is 3.5/5. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose Electrical because I wanted to study it from childhood, and the best thing about Electrical is that one has to study most of the engineering subjects, so one can be prepared to switch between core and non-core easily. To improve my course, they should add more practical classes and a proper PC setup for core software testing. Events are like: Saraswati Puja, Annual Tech cum cultural fest - Esperenza, Freshers welcome - Croeso, etc. The campus crowd is minimal, being near a village. Connectivity with the main road is good, and the surroundings look beautiful being on the bank of the Torsha River. Scholarships like OASIS, SVMCM are available if you're eligible. Extracurricular activities are generally done by the clubs of the college (like music, quiz, sports, etc. clubs) and units like NSS, where both teachers and students contribute.

B.E./B.Tech is the most sought after cours  at CGEC because it covers all the solid core branches. With experienced faculty and decent placements, it's basically a full package especially if you're serious about engineering.

It all begins with submitting either an application for WBJEE or JEE Main, depending on which exam you chose to take. Next, take the exams; when results are released, follow it up with registration for centralized counseling (e-counseling portal for WBJEE or JoSAA, for JEE Main). During filling out

To get into B.E./B.Tech at CGEC, you need to pass 12th with Physics, Math, and one other Science subject—minimum 45% marks. You also gotta crack WBJEE or JEE Main to be considered. If you're coming with a diploma, JELET is your way in for lateral entry. Basically, study hard, clear the exam, and you
