Dr. D. Y. Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute was founded in 2004 and is a unit of Dr. D Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. DYPBBI is approved by the UGC and AICTE. The institute is supported by the DST-FIST (Infrastructure Support for Teaching & Research awarded by the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi and GOI) and campus is in Tathawade Pune. DYPBBI offers full-time UG, PG, and PhD programmes in Biotechnology. The Institute features great infrastructure facilities, including teaching and research laboratories, hostels, modern classrooms, computers, audio visual presentation facilities and Wi-Fi campus. - Placements: The placement record is not that good as expected after doing Masters from a good college. The average salary provided by the companies lie between 4-5 Lacs which is very less, so a person expects more after spending a lot on studies and after all getting that low package.
- Infrastructure: The infrastructure of thecollege is average. The campus is small. Students have to book a turf outside the college. The infrastructure of the hostel is comparatively better. The food served in the mess is not much good and specially the water facility is not good.
One good thing about the college is:
Faculty: All the staff members and teachers are extremely well qualified and specialised in their own arena. Teachers are very helpful and also helps in career counselling. The course curriculum is well designed, incorporating nearly all the spheres of biotechnology.
