Review of Faculty of Science, Kurukshetra University.
Placements: Right now, placement wing is not up to the mark. But if the enrolled student topped the first year, ONGC provides a whopping amount of Rs. 60,000. Apart from this, if students want to do internships in various places, the department is very much helpful in providing permission to those students.
Infrastructure: One of the best infrastructures one can come across. The department is situated on the university campus. The campus is simply eye-catching, and classrooms are sufficient to accomodate 30 students. Labs are good, and the best thing about the university is its library, which is available 24x7.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative. You can approach and ask them wherever you need support. Seniors are also cooperative. The syllabus is designed well as if a student studies the whole syllabus, then about 60-90% of GATE and net preparation will be covered.

The university offers many courses, good faculty and beautiful infrastructure with good placements.
Placements: Average placement is 80% in which some students join PSUs like ONGC, Oil India Limited, IOCL, Coal India Limited, MECL through GATE score and through campus placement, ONGC and Oil India Limited recruit students as management trainees from the department.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well furnished with lots of greenery and there all the departments have their separate buildings. Well furnished classrooms with a projector screen. There is a market also for the convenience of the students and a six-storied library with AC facilities which is open from 7 am in the morning to 1 am at night.
The hostel facilities are also very good. There are 14 girls' hostels with a small market and a canteen is there for girls. It is the same with the boys' hostels.
There are labs with well-equipped facilities for the practicals.
Faculty: All the faculty members of the department are very helpful and motivate the students for higher studies. There are 5 faculty members in my department (department of geology) two professors and three assistant professors.
My experience with them was memorable. They were dedicated to us and they tried many methods to teach the students and tried to be curious for students.
Other: The best part is that the Kurukshetra University Campus in is not so far from the city. It's in the main city, so it's convenient to reach there. The environment of the campus is very positive because of lots of greenery and broad road facilities.
From the security point of view, it's very safe.

For a post graduation degree it's okay, but you cant be sure for the placement.
Placements: There is no placement for M.Sc. applied Geology. Strength of batch is 30 student per year. In-fact there is another department for earth science named department of geophysics and in that 1 or 2 percent students get placed.
Infrastructure: Kurukshetra university offers you M.Sc. Applied geology 2 year and M.Tech geophysics 3 year course. The hostel facility is good. They provide rooms for 4 occupancy for the post graduation and graduation students and single occupancy for Ph.D. scholars. Food is also of good quality.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and the department facility is also good. There are 8 faculty members and 4-5 research scholars who are working on different problems related to climate, groundwater quality, petrology, palaentology and metamorphic faces analysis. There are some improvement needed in terms of facilities. Department also have a geological museum which have rock samples from the different part of the country. They have instruments and a sample testing laboratory for research scholars. Department of geology is working on the project related to the ancient Saraswati river palaeofacies analysis.
