3.8

Moderate placements, but strong academics and campus life in the Civil branch.
Placements: Site Engineer supervises construction at site, manages resources, and ensures safety for 3-5 LPA. Junior Civil Engineer assists in project planning, drawing interpretation, and cost estimates for 3-4 LPA. Design Engineer works with AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and ETABS to design structural components for 4-6 LPA. Structural Engineer analyzes loads and designs frameworks for buildings, bridges, etc., for 5-8 LPA. Planning Engineer schedules and monitors progress using tools like MS Project and Primavera for 4-6 LPA. Quality Control/Quality Assurance Engineer monitors material and construction quality and conducts lab tests for 3-5 LPA. Estimation & Billing Engineer prepares cost estimates, billing reports, and BOQs for 3.5-5.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities include smart classrooms, labs, a library, gym, auditoriums, a cafeteria, and sports grounds for cricket, football, basketball, and volleyball. Hostels are a mix: there are new hostels with lifts and single rooms available from the 3rd year, but some older blocks still need maintenance. Wi-Fi has mixed reviews; some say campus Wi-Fi works, while others report zero connectivity. Overall, it's a green, clean campus with good campus life, including annual fests like Tarannum and Youth Fest PTU, as well as various cultural and sports events.
Faculty: Semester exams at GZSCCET are conducted as per MRSPTU guidelines. If you attend classes, study lecture notes, and refer to previous year papers, you can pass comfortably. Most questions are theory-based with some numericals and design-based questions in Civil Engineering. Internal assessments (mid-sem, assignments, practical) play a significant role and boost your final score. MRSPTU provides syllabus-linked question banks, and professors often set paper patterns from these.
Other: Tarannum is a cultural and technical fest held every year with events such as singing, dance, fashion shows, and drama, as well as technical quizzes, coding competitions, and model exhibitions. Sports tournaments include cricket, football, and athletics. Additionally, there's the Youth Fest / PTU Fest, which involves participation in inter-college university-level events under MRSPTU. Departmental Days for Civil, CSE, ECE, etc., host branch-specific events, model expos, and poster-making competitions.

Review of Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organisations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If they're a CS student, they will face immense competition. For core branches, placements are severely dry. Students become eligible for placements in the 4th year onwards. Some of the recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika, and a few others. Every company offers jobs to around 10-15 selected students. The highest salary package ever was 15 LPA, and the average salary package was 3.2 LPA. The percentage of students placed is only around 15%.
Infrastructure: The college and university buildings are nice, with good architecture. Machines and equipment work fine, but they're old. Hostels need repair, but they are nice overall. Students will not face any problems in the hostel. The annual fests here are Tarannum and Youth Fest, PTU, held around October and November. The library is vast and full of books. Students can find almost all related books in the library. Sports facilities are good, equipment is readily available, and a sports meet is held yearly. Hostels are good and affordable. Students get what they pay for. In the 1st and 2nd years, you get a triple-sharing room. From the 3rd year onwards, they get your single room. Every room is equipped with a table, chair, cupboards, and a balcony. Any electrical faults are fixed quickly and efficiently. The mess menu is diverse, and you get different items every day of the week.
Faculty: The teacher-to-student ratio is around 1:30. Faculty members are experienced and knowledgeable. They know their fields well, and their academic performance reflects this. It varies across different branches, but overall, some senior teachers are generally good to interact with. The curriculum mostly matches that of other colleges or follows the guidelines approved by AICTE. There are also open and departmental electives. Overall, the curriculum is good and aligns with competitive exams.
Other: The per year fee is Rs. 95,000. It includes Rs. 4,000 as examination fees, Rs. 70,000 as tuition fees, and the rest is for student funds, development funds, etc. The one-time registration fee upon admission is Rs. 3,000. Upon admission, students have to pay Rs. 5,000 as security money, which is included in their first semester fees and is refundable upon completion of your course. Additional document charges of Rs. 500 are applicable in the last semester. Some students receive a Tuition Fee Waiver based on their JEE scores, which waives their entire tuition fee. Additionally, the CM Scholarship is available here, which halves the tuition fee. For SC students, they are eligible to apply for the PM scholarship, which covers their entire fee.

I am satisfied with the faculty and good placements. It has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: There are a total of 40 students in my class. Good Study and CGPA matter, but skills matter the most in all courses. I can't define the percentage of students who get internships, but students get internships here. The package offered is also good.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for the course are good. The hostel facility is good. No ragging is caused on the campus and hostels. Mess food is good and the changes applied for it, so sometimes it's not good but maximum time it's good. The quality of food is good. The environment of the campus is also good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Exams are quite difficult, but they are according to the syllabus. Teachers are qualified according to courses provided in college. The quality of teachers is also good. Some teachers are not good, but a maximum teachers are of good quality. Their teaching style is good, as things become easy to learn and remember.
Other: In our college, fests and events are amazing. Surroundings of the college are also great.

Good infrastructure, good faculty, good campus, bad placements and bad crowd.
Placements: Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry.
Infrastructure: The college and university buildings are nice, with good architecture. Machines and equipment work fine, but they're old. Hostels need repair, but they are nice altogether. You will not face any problems in the hostel. It’s a government college, so please don’t keep too many expectations for infrastructure facilities.
Faculty: Faculty is experienced and good. They know their fields well, and their academic performances verify it. It differs with different branches, but overall, there are senior teachers mostly who are generally good to interact with. For the curriculum, it mostly matches the curriculum of other colleges or as approved by AICTE. There are also open and departmental electives. Overall, the curriculum is good, matching with your competitive exams. Exams are taken very seriously here. There is strict UMC (from 1 year back) in case someone is caught with chits and devices. Exams are not too hard and are relatively easier than at other colleges. You will not have problems passing your course if you study enough.
Other: This college is good for core branches. If you're coming for CS, you're ultimately coming into the rat race because placements are really dry. In the case of core branches, at least there is exposure in the field, and experienced faculty makes it easier. The college crowd is mostly from Punjab, so the crowd isn't that great, and most people are here for time-pass. The college crowd feels boring, with fests having repetitive themes and programs only. There's no variety or enough cultural exchange. Hostel life is, however, great.

Great hostel life. Great infrastructure. Changes are needed in placements and management.
Placements: Placements are honestly very poor right now. Only small-scale companies are coming, and there is a severe lack of mass recruiters. Only students with immense skills in their respective fields have chances to get placed.
Infrastructure: The college and university infrastructure is nice, with architecture enriched by Sikhism. The apparatus, machines, and tools in labs are quite old, but they still work. Hostels are also quite good. Students will get their money's worth in the hostel. Although hostels are old, they will receive facilities you deserve. The hostel environment is good.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-experienced and knowledgeable in their fields. Most of faculty members are senior professors with significant experience. They come from reputed organizations as well. The curriculum is similar to that of most colleges, as approved by AICTE. Exams are conducted strictly here. Sufficient study and knowledge of the subject are enough to pass the course. It is not very difficult to pass the course.
Other: This college had a strong reputation in earlier times. The core branches were well-reputed. The alumni are big names in their industries. The college crowd is mostly local, so it is not great, to be honest. It feels boring and repetitive for all programs and functions here. There is not enough diversity to mention.
