Review of GITAM School of Technology, Visakhapatnam.
Placements: The university gives a tough number in placement. The average package here is around 5 to 7 lacs per annum. The lowest package here goes down to a minimum of 4 lacs per annum. The highest package goes up to 48 lacs per annum. Companies like TCS, Deloitte, Wipro and many other IT companies come to hire students from our campus. Around 50% students get an internship in those companies during their studies.
Infrastructure: The campus is mostly green and sprawling. Wi-Fi is available for all the students and the teaching staff. The campus contains a huge library that has all kinds of books, novels and test papers. The classrooms are digital with A/C attached. The hostellers say that the hostel is decent, with Wi-Fi features available for them, and they also eat hygienic food from a clean mess.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members present here are highly skilled, experienced and supportive. 90% of faculty members hold PhD degrees in their respective subjects. The course is reasonably advanced and very much relevant to today's technology. This makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are not so tough if you are up to date, and the pass percentage is above 88% here.
Other: I chose this particular course to know more about computers and the digital world and do something really good for the country where I live.

It has good placements and provides good infrastructure.
Placements: I have witnessed many seniors being placed. Many companies offer good packages if students have prior experience through internships. Placement statistics vary by branch (CSE, ECE, etc.), campus (Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru), and batch. In the 2024 GITAM overall placement drive, the highest package reported was 46.50 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi‑Fi is available 24/7. The food is good. My department has good infrastructure with all the essential facilities required for academics. Classrooms are spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with projectors. The campus has high-speed Wi‑Fi. Though connectivity may fluctuate at peak hours. Labs are well-maintained with updated systems and necessary software/equipment for practical sessions. Central library is a strong point, with a large collection of books, journals, e-resources, a reading space, and extended hours. Overall, the academic infrastructure is satisfactory and supports effective learning.
Faculty: The semester can be tough as there is limited time between exams. But if you are prepared, the difficulty level is manageable. The course curriculum is fairly relevant. It covers important subjects needed for industry exposure. It includes theory, practical sessions, lab work, and project-based learning. The college updates the syllabus periodically and adds skill-based courses, internships, and workshops to help students stay industry-ready. While it may not be fully aligned with the latest industry trends. It provides a strong foundation for placements and higher studies.

Good campus with decent placements.
Placements: Around 60-80 percent of GITAM students get placed yearly. The highest package is 46 LPA, average is 5 LPA to 7 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Amazon, Accenture, and Infosys. 50-90 percent of students get internships at firms like Wipro and HCL. Common roles offered are software and cloud engineer.
Infrastructure: GITAM offers good infrastructure with Wi-Fi-enabled campus, modern classrooms, and well-equipped labs. Library is digital and spacious. Hostels are decent with clean rooms, 24X7 water and security. Mess food is average. Canteen is better. Medical care, gym, and sports facilities are available.
Faculty: Teachers at GITAM are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, with a practical focus in most departments. The curriculum is updated and industry-relevant but may need more hands-on exposure. Exams are moderate in difficulty. The pass percentage is usually above 85-90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in technology and career opportunities. The best parts are practical learning, supportive faculty, and good placements. Improvement is needed in lab facilities and internships. GITAM has vibrant fests, diverse crowd, good connectivity, clean campus, scholarships, and many extracurricular clubs.

I suggest everyone to check college and campus life.
Placements: 97% of students from our course got placed during campus placements. Highest package offered is 46LPA, while lowest is around 4LPA, with average package being competitive. Top recruiters included Wipro, TCS, and several other reputed companies, offering both full time roles and internships. Many students also secured internships through these recruiters, which provided valuable industry exposure. The roles offered spanned across domains such as Software Engineer, Analyst, Consultant, and Core Engineering profiles, depending on the Specialisation.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good. It has clean environment and well equipped laboratories with all the necessary instruments for practical learning. Classrooms are spacious, fully air conditioned, and equipped with really high speed Wi-Fi, which creates a comfortable and modern learning environment.
Faculty: We have exams every 2 months and have class and mock tests too, we start at 8 00 PM and class ends at 4 00 PM which makes a full corporate schedule. Teachers are very supportive and explain every concept clearly, ensuring students understand the subject well. They are all friendly. They maintain a friendly environment in class and are approachable, without being too strict. We have semester exams every two months. The overall pass percentage is 90% which reflects the quality of teaching and guidance provided. Our college has highly experienced teachers who provide strong academic guidance and support. All of them help us a lot and focus on every single student.
Other: I chose B.Tech in CSE because it is a course in high demand and offers a wide range of career opportunities in the current industry trend. Our college provides the best placements. College provides a clean and calm environment, which is ideal for studying. We also have so many fests along with vibrant campus life. Festivals and events are organized almost every month, giving students both exposure and enjoyment. We have so many sports.

GITAM University is good and very supportive of students.
Placements: 70% of students got placed through campus placements, and the highest package offered this year is 20 LPA by JP Morgan Chase, and the lowest offered is TCS (Ninja Role) 3.3LPA. The top recruiting companies of my course are Flipkart, Myntra, TCS, Accenture, and Porsche.
Infrastructure: The facilities in GITAM University are top-notch, where every room is a smart room with projectors and unlimited Wi-Fi, and also there is a library access using our ID cards, where we can take books home by registering in the library and return them.
Faculty: I would say teaching qualities are pretty average, in my opinion, because not every faculty works into the subject. Few faculty members just read the PPT on the screens and cover the unit. This course exposes students to industry-ready skills and helps to build a career in respective domains.
Other: I would choose this course because Computer Science is the most in-demand career. We are also exposed to various companies and gain knowledge by meeting seniors. I wish the faculty members would explain more clearly by just not reading the PPTs.

As per the information available on GITAM college website the admissions in B.Tech programs are based on the performance of GAT (UGTP) an entrance test. Further, 60% marks are required in PCM and aggregate at class 12th level. Hence, GITAM does not offers admission to engineering Diploma holders.

I think there is a mistake in your question. Because GATE is meant for Post-Graduation courses but it can't make you to get into B.Tech First of all, you have to complete your B.Tech to be eligible for the GATE. College change or university change after first-year is completely dependent on the college and university norms, some university allow it and some won't plus you need to have good scores in the first year to apply for the same. For further details, contact the college authorities.
