Faculty members are good and encouraged us.
Placements: I think none of the students got placed. Our college did not offer placements, and there is no placement committee. TCS had come once, but I think it has taken any students. Internships weren't available from our college. I interned at Missionaries of Charity on my own. No such initiative was taken by the college to get us placed.
Infrastructure: The library was decent with a good amount of books and good ambience. Classrooms were well-decorated and big. Sanitary machines were available in the washrooms, but passage space was less. There are no playgrounds, and co-curriculum was also not taken care of. At times due to the heat it felt stuffy.
Faculty: Some teachers were helpful in our term papers and encouraged us. They paid attention to us and also encouraged co-curricular activities, and we participated in challenges. We did not participate in the fests. Badminton tournaments would take place.

Review of Gokhale Memorial Girls' College.
Placements: There was only one placement cell in our college. A few companies come, but TCS recruited the majority of students. However, very few opted for placements after bachelors. Mostly everyone was interested in higher studies. I opted for off-campus placements because of the better salary package.
Infrastructure: Classrooms, library, canteen, and office are average. The library is well stocked with books. Classrooms are normal, and there was nothing too good. The campus was small, and we have a huge auditorium for different events. However, I enjoyed the ambience and the crowd, particularly of our department.
Faculty: In the economics department, faculty members were brilliant. They taught well and were adhered to the syllabus. In Gokhale, you can always be sure of your education. They were strict and disciplined. Proper classes were taken with proper attendance. Exams and everything else was well-taken care off.
Other: We did not have any fests. The enjoyment part was rare in our college days. However, the locality was full of restaurants and food stalls, so we always used to go out to grab a bite. That was our enjoyment. There is a Forum Mall nearby.

It is a good college with a high amount of discipline and organisation.
Placements: There are no such options for placements. A certain course is provided for getting placement opportunities for MNCs. The course is helpful enough to provide recruitment, but not always. Internship opportunities are poor. The college does not provide multiple internship opportunities to the students who pursue their respective courses here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good enough. Classrooms are spacious, and there is a well-accommodated library which is always easily accessible. The college lacks Wi-Fi. There was a canteen in the initial years of graduation, but then it has above average quality of food. The college also lacks medical facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are very helpful and very student-friendly. Teaching quality is great. The course makes students industry-ready. Courses provided by the college are very beneficial. Faculty members are good enough, but sometimes there is a lack of coordination.

I am highly satisfied to be a part of such an established institution.
Placements: In our college, we did not get placement offers. We got internships at various places like Missionaries of Charity and Indian Oil. Some of us interned for two months and got a certificate. The college taught us how to face challenges and also helped us to excel in academics.
Infrastructure: Labs, library and classrooms were good and proper. It had many books, and the classrooms were airy. The place was very clean, and the washroom had sanitary pad machines that were free of cost. The library was well-furnished and had a perfect ambience to read.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college were very helpful, and teachers encouraged curriculum activities as well. Students got ready to face many upcoming challenges. Professors were highly qualified and were never partial. They stayed back many times to make us understand the portion. They encouraged co-curriculum activities.

The college has good staff, but poor environment.
Placements: Elaborate and extensive arrangements are made for student training programs after completion of a specific academic course, and students get placed in reputed centres such as TCS and Wipro. The placements are available even after 3 years of passing out from the college, and the college assures accessibility to the library even after passing out, which is a great facility.
Infrastructure: The college campus is way too small to accommodate a large number of students that get admission every year. The corridors are narrow, crowded and prone to accidents. Some classrooms have air conditioners, but they are barely turned on. Overall, my experience is unsatisfactory.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, punctual and determined to produce good results. However, much emphasis is given to rote learning, and there is little scope for creativity. The students are expected to follow the rules blindly, which is unreasonable and unfair. There is no scope for self-expression.
Other: The teaching staff are good and reliable, there are facilities for co-curricular activities, but infrastructure and management are not up to the mark. There is a definite dress code that must be followed. The fests are held annually but are not very attractive or engaging. There is no Wi-Fi on the campus. Strict action is taken against the use of mobile phones. There is no flexibility regarding attendance.

Life in Gokhale Memorial Girls' College.
Placements: Not good. Just not good. Although with CU overall, after B.Sc. course in Economics, we do not know much to be placed in good companies, but GMGC should not misguide by bringing in BPO jobs in places like Cognizant and TCS. We were allowed no sort of internship in good places because we would need to miss class and that was not permissible.
Infrastructure: Classrooms were airy and clean. We had a computer with interned connection in every room for any study related requirements. Wi-Fi, not available, when I was in college. Medical facilities absent on regular basis. Though in cases of emergency, proper medical facilities had been arranged. Clean water is available. There is a slight water problem but that is being managed. Sports yes. We held annual sports. Indore games are available. And badminton is played almost regularly every winter. We have a huge auditorium, shared with the Gokhale school, where held the beautifully organized cultural programs. Labs, those that are present, are good enough. Bathrooms generally are cleaned regularly. They were not initially. But during the last year, we Class Representatives made sure that it was clean. Food available at canteen was not filling and healthy back then. It was like snacks material. But the class hours we faced, we needed solid heavy food, which should be kept at disposal for students.
Faculty: The faculty is good. Other than the in-house-departmental-rivalry among some teachers, all of them are knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. Eco department especially, and English department is fun. The teacher student relationship is amazing. We have our course made from the University of Calcutta. And I think it is below the required level of teaching in out course in Eco. They are not at par with the other national level universities, for which we have to suffer in the national level exams. Gokhale should include a statistics department and take self initiative and impart knowledge about programming to the students.
Other: Events are mostly all in-house. We did not have fests back then. But we had seminars, cultural programs, and other events required
However socializing is required in college. And that is completely absent. Or was completely absent then. Attendance is a very strict issue in college.

A true review of GMGC from an ex-student.
Placements: The placements in CU after graduation is not a common characteristic feature. Our college has no different, but lately, improvements were there. 6 students enrolled from my batch in TCS placement course, and this was offered by TCS and was free of cost. Out of the 6 students, 2 students are dropped out and didn't want to continue it. The rest 4 were offered the job. The average salary offered was Rs. 10,000 per month.
Infrastructure: My college lacked in basic infrastructure. The classrooms were small. The canteen and the common room didn't have sufficient space to incorporate the students when classes were not going on. Even as a honours student, we were not given more than one book at a time from the library.
Faculty: I had graduated with honours in economics from GMGC. The course curriculum was good, but more projects should be incorporated as a part of the course. The teachers were really helpful. A personal relationship between the teachers and students grew, and they took care of all of us individually.
Other: The campus is located in the heart of the city.

Gokhale Memorial Girls College.
Placements: As it is a general course, there is no placement after completing the course. However, TCS comes to the college every year and after 5 days training the recruit for the back office jobs. Anyone can join the course and joining is optional. After the course, everyone is given a certificate for completing the course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average. There is no club for extracurricular activities. However, the rules are very strict, for example, a student has to give at last 60 percent attendance to appear for the final exam. If someone has not scored pass marks in the test exams, the college will cancel your chance to appear for the final exam.
Faculty: Geography faculty are good. They are friendly, amicable. As the course requires a lot of practical work, it increases teacher-student connection. However, some of the teachers from other curriculum are not at all student friendly. The non-teaching staffs are sometimes rude to students.
Other: There are no fest and no events. The campus itself is very small.
