Great cultural life and hostels, but poor placement opportunities.
Placements: Around 10-20% of students every year go for higher studies like M.Teach or other courses instead of sitting for placements. Only 2 or 3 companies visit the campus regularly. CodeClouds and Geotech are consistent recruiters, and we've had people make it into Cognizant, ISRO, and some other well-known organizations as well. If you're really skilled, you need to rely on off-campus drives to land a good job. The average package for those who do get placed is around 2.5-3.5 LPA. The highest we've seen recently from our department was 7.2 LPA, which was definitely a highlight.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are clean and are currently being renovated, which will make them better soon. Labs are all air-conditioned, though not every AC or machine works properly, which is typical of a government college. Still, the setup is fairly good. Hostel life is nice, with good food, though freshers might need to follow some courses initially. Since the hostel is also under renovation, conditions are improving. Overall, the infrastructure is a mix of good facilities and old systems, balancing comfort with the limitations of an old institution.
Faculty: The course structure at GCECT is well designed, though it may feel hectic for newcomers. Most students adapt within a semester or two, and many go on to score above 8.5 SGPA, with several achieving 9 or even 10. Since the college is autonomous and the faculty sets the papers, students can focus their studies according to their goals. Be it higher education or placements with smart preparation, two to three weeks of study is usually enough to score well. The only real challenge is the CLA, conducted by external examiners, which requires extra effort. Overall, academics are demanding yet manageable.
Other: Seniors are supportive, the crowd is welcoming, and students generally maintain a friendly atmosphere, even if occasional disagreements with teachers arise. They usually get resolved. On the downside, infrastructure could definitely improve, and the absence of a dedicated on-campus placement officer has hurt placement drives, especially for the CSE and IT departments. This remains the biggest drawback, as it has prevented real growth in placements over the past few years. Still, with active cultural activities and a vibrant student life, the campus offers a good experience. Though the placement gap overshadows it for technical branches.

The college is small, but I came for a degree and found a family here.
Placements: The college provides average placements in my department. The college provides decent placement opportunities with reputed companies visiting each year. The average placement package is satisfactory, with good support from the placement cell through training, workshops, and interview preparation.
Infrastructure: The college offers modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, a rich library, and digital facilities for effective learning. Hostels provide safe, clean, and comfortable living with Wi-Fi, nutritious food, and recreation, ensuring a balanced campus life.
Faculty: Autonomous college. Teachers are experienced and supportive, guiding students with practical insights. The curriculum is updated and industry-oriented. Exams are conducted fairly, with equal focus on theory and practical knowledge for overall student development.

Good college if you are planning for higher studies.
Placements: In this college, Ceramic Technology has a 100% placement rate and for IT and CSE on campus placement rates are not high enough but most students get placed from off-campus. Top recruiting companies for IT and CSE are TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture, etc. For Ceramic Technology, Saint Gobain Glass, Jindal South West Steel, and Tata Refractories are the top recruiters. The highest, lowest, and average packages are about 7.5 LPA, 3.5 LPA, and 4.8 LPA, respectively.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure looks not so bad but not so good either. Campus is not so big but still it is okay. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library are also good. Hostel is small but construction is almost done in few months. The hostel will be even bigger. Hostel food is good. There are rooms for playing indoor games like chess, carrom, table tennis, etc. There are rooms for dance practice and playing music is also available. Cricket pitch, football ground, and badminton court are also available for sports.
Faculty: All teachers are well-qualified and experts in their fields. If not all most of them are friendly. The course is okay, it also prepares them for the industry but students must also learn some skills themselves to excel. Semester exams are not so difficult, practicing previous years' questions and learning the concepts is enough. Passing percentage is 50% separately in lab exams and written exams.

The college atmosphere is very good. The seniors are helpful and they guide you in every step .
Placements: The placement scenario at this college is good. The CTS students have more than 90% placement; the placement rates for CSE and IT students are 60–70%. The average package is around 555,000. Companies like TCS, Infosys, IBM, HCL, and Amazon are the biggest recruiters.
Infrastructure: The buildings of this college are old and not that big to catch your eye. But the library of this college is very big. The library has a vast number of books and you can have the books virtually as they are uploaded. The hostel is not that big but it has all the necessary things students need .
Faculty: The teachers are very good; they are highly qualified and they make extra efforts for us to understand the subjects. The courses are well developed and designed and they prepare the students for industry and life. The semester exams are not that difficult. If you attend classes, you could easily score good marks.

This college has highly qualified teachers.
Placements: Placements at this college were good. Around 40-45% of students get on-campus placements in this college. Many startups and local companies visit our college for placements. The average package offered in our college ranged from 2-8 LPA. Top recruiters for our course were TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Reliance, etc. at the college. Top roles in our college were related to the development roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college was good. The college had spacious classrooms with all the required facilities. College labs had properly operational computer labs. The college also offers hostel facilities. Sports facilities were also given to the students.
Faculty: The faculty of our institute were really helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teachers of our college were very supportive and helpful to all the students. Teachers taught us so well and taught us all the programming languages. The course curriculum of our college was relevant. It was preparing students for jobs by making them learn required skills.

A good place to start your journey.
Placements: The placement scenario here is different from that at other colleges. The bitter truth is that the ceramics department gets the best placement here. The average package of the Ceramic Technology department is around 8–9 lacs per annum, whereas the highest package from CSE and IT is only 6–6.5 LPA. So you can understand what the condition is. As the placement cell officer of CSE IT is inactive, students take a role in the placement cell and try hard for the improvement of placements. Recruiters like GEOTECH, Wipro, and TCS come here and take students. The total number of students in the college is only 600 so everyone gets placed here.
Infrastructure: The course is very easy for the first year and it goes up for the upcoming years. The infrastructure is good and our college has its own high-speed Wi-Fi on the college campus and in hostels. Labs are modernized and they contain high-end technological items. The canteen is not good and it remains closed throughout the year. A medical officer is also present at our college. If we come to sports, there are two grounds in our college where you can play any kind of game at any time. So don't worry about your sports journey.
Faculty: The exams are very easy to score. The batch strength for every department is around 40 and every year, 10 out of 40 students from every batch get a CGPA >= 9. The professors are very good and they hold the best knowledge in their respective fields. Prof. Kingshuk Chatterjee, Dr. Ambika Mukhopadhyay, and others are the best faculty members, as you can see from some average professors. Hehe, I won't talk about them; you will see them on your own. The semester exams are very easy and they are conducted every 4-5 months.
Other: The campus is good. I won't say that it's the best but yes, you can pretty much enjoy your life. At a time you feel that your choice about this college is bad but don't worry, there are more options that you can do with a Masters from IITs. Even I feel the same. Now let's talk about the fests. Our main cultural fest, "Jagriti," and our technical fest, "Karmatek," are organized every year and everyone enjoys these two main fests. Beside this, the Super Cup and other sports events are organized here. I don't think you need a scholarship for this college because the course costs are very low (around 1000 per month for CSE).
