The decent table of government. College of West Bengal.
Placements: The placement is not so over the top or underwhelming. The average package here is 7 LPA-9 LPA and the highest package goes up to above 16 LPA. The placement percentage is above 80 percent. The main recruiting companies are TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. The internship programme is mostly for last year students.
Infrastructure: The campus buildings are very huge. I have never seen buildings bigger than those. Wi-Fi is available at a decent speed. The classrooms are smart. The campus has a huge auditorium and a big central library. The hostel premises are better than the other private college hostels. The food quality is good and the sports facilities are limited.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are educated at a higher level. Most of them hold a Ph.D. or M.Tech. The teaching quality of all teachers is very good. The course curriculum is very relevant and gets updated every 2 years. The semester exams are very thoughtful and easy. The pass percentage is above 90 percent.
Other: The events and fests that are organised here are better than expected. Scholarships take away the extra pressure from students about worrying about the cost.

It is a good and family-friendly college with regular college.
Placements: This course provides average placements for computer science and engineering technology, but in this college ceramic technology students get 100% placements. You can try off-campus placement or do higher studies like M.Tech. It is a nice college. Classes are regular.
Infrastructure: Facilities at the college are excellent. Infrastructure is also good, but the campus is small. Seniors are friendly. There is no ragging. The hostel is good, but the capacity is small. The food in the hostel is good, and the fees are low. Overall, I love this college.
Faculty: Our college has good faculty members. They are helpful. They give their full effort for classes. They are highly qualified. The exam system is good. Semester exams are a little difficult but not so hard. The pass percentage is 50%. Dr Partha Halder is our exam head.

Our college is very good.
Placements: 100% placements in our college. The highest package is 10 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is 5 LPA. Cognizant, Wipro and many more companies come here for placement. 80% students get placed from my course, and mass recruitment come from Wipro. Top role offered is software engineer.
Infrastructure: It has free Wi-Fi with unlimited internet connection. Drinking water is available. We have many labs in our college, such as chemistry lab, python lab, c+ lab, c lab, java lab, workshop lab, computer architecture lab etc. which are well maintained. Our hostel is very spacious, neat, and clean. The more the distance from your home to college, greater is the probability to get admission in hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Many camps are set by our teachers, such as night camp, moon watching, which are very cheerful to us. Students passing out from this college are always industry ready.
Other: The best about this course is that, I get to be a software engineer.

Not completely satisfied because of administration staff and bad placements.
Placements: Around 20% of the IT (information technology) department students got placed only in 2021. The average package offered is 3.5 lacs per annum, but I don't know the highest and the lowest packages because, before 2021, there was almost no placement at all. The students get jobs on their own (off-campus). Only TCS is the top recruiter for our course. From IT, most of the students got internships on their own, not through our college. Roles like assistant software engineer, junior engineer, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Labs are well maintained. Wi-Fi is provided, but only the college staff can access it. The library is good, and almost all books required for the course are available. The new hostel was built in 2019, and I had never stayed in the hostel. So, I don't know about the food. Sports facilities are provided to hostelers as well as day scholars.
Faculty: The teachers are very well qualified and knowledgeable, and some are helpful (not all). Their teaching skills are up to the mark, no doubt about that. The course curriculum is relevant to some areas in industries. But it does not make the students ready for industries completely because the topics taught during our course are completely out of context when it comes to industries. In 2019, the topics were changed by UGC, but only for the students from batch 2019. It was completely useless for our batch.
Other: I chose IT because I love to do coding. The best thing about my course is the journey I had as a fresher to the outside world. The things I wish would be better is the administration staff since they are not helpful at all (even in this pandemic), and they talk to us like they own the college and not at all friendly in terms of scholarships and other matters since it is an autonomous college.

Review of a Second Year student at GCECT.
Placements: I am writing this as a second year IT (B.Tech) student. The placements for IT and CSE are not good here. But if you are dedicated and willing to do good then you can make a good career out of here. There are alumni who are at good companies. There are very less or rather no chances that you will get internship through college you have to rely on your own for that. The placements for Ceramic Technology (CT) are very good. This is one of the best colleges in the India for CT.
Infrastructure: There is only one boys hostel and no girls hostel available. The intake of hostel is low. The food though is good (as per the reviews given to me by my friends who reside in hostel). Most of the students reside in mess. There is one canteen in the campus. Relative to the no. of students in the college the campus is good. The computer labs are good.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are good, knowledgeable and helpful as well. The course curriculum is good though there are certain subjects which I think are not much relevant. Except that some teachers are helpful. The IT subject teachers are good. Though you still have to do some courses from other sources like NPTEL, Coursera, edX, Udemy etc.
Other: I chose this course because I always wanted to study CSE or IT in any college and this is the best I was getting for my WBJEE rank. We have an annual cultural fest and a tech fest. An annual sports fest is also organised.

The college has very good infrastructure and placements. Teachers are very helpful.
Placements: Placements in our college are going very well. Only a few students were left unplaced. Already 80% of students were placed. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Almost 60% of the students got internships in well-reputed companies. Last year, almost 90% of the students got placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. Classrooms are very good. The Wi-Fi facility is available, but the internet speed is slow. Labs are very good, but there are a limited number of seats. The quality of the food served in the canteen is very good. Sports and gaming facilities are available here.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good. They are well qualified to teach us. They always try to help us and always give us the best knowledge. They always provide us with the right solution. TPO of our college is very helpful. They always update us regarding upcoming campus drives.

Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (GCECT) is a good college.
Placements: Placements are good only for the students of the ceramic technology department. The placements of the CSE and IT departments are poor. Many companies like Amazon, CTS and TCS visited the college for placements. Almost 40% of the students were offered internships. There is a placement cell. Students of our senior batch were offered good placement opportunities. Overall, the college is good and well-maintained.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is poor. The college doesn't provide any Wi-Fi and medical facilities. The quality of labs and classrooms is above average. The quality of the food available in the canteen is worst. Hostel rooms are good. The infrastructure is very poor and not well-maintained.
Faculty: The faculty members are helpful, and the course curriculum is well-designed. The quality of the teaching is very good, and many teachers are helpful. The teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is good.
Other: Four years of time builds a good relationship among students, by which the students can feel like a family. The college organises many events and cultural fests such as Jagriti.

Review of a Government College (which isn't JU or BESU).
Placements: The placements were good for the first 2 rounds. Then we were referred to off campus recruitment events and mass recruitment events. The companies that came on campus were Wipro, Capgemini and Veda IIT. The average salary was 3lpa. There were internship offers but from my succeeding batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was pretty basic given its a government college. The library was good and had a really good collection of books. The IT labs were pretty decent. The first year physics lab was pretty good too. I personally hadn't seen any medical facilities myself and the canteen food was best to be avoided.
Faculty: The teachers were okay. Projectors were there in the class to show presentations when required. The student-faculty ratio was more or less 1:12, Being a small college. The industry exposure was limited to one month training programmes from Globsyn which gave us the basic overview of some of the skills required for the industry.
