Candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme must meet the minimum HICAS BSc eligibility criteria set up by the institute and the University. BSc at HICAS is a three-year, full-time course offered in seventeen different specialisations and candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate with Maths as one of the main subjects can get admission to the HICAS BSc course.

The admission to Hindustan College of Arts and Science are based on merit and the division of seats are done on basis of reservation and management quota.

• Admission form can be filled offline and online.
• 50% of the seats are filled as per reservation policies

HICAS scholarships can be availed by the MBA students who meet the specific eligibility criteria. The MBA students can avail the Government, institutional and, NGO scholarships. HICAS MBA scholarships can be availed by meritorious, category, physically challenged and, students who have accolades in sports. Given below is the list of some of HICAS MBA scholarships:

• Government scholarship for SC/ SCA/ ST students whose parents' annual income is less than INR 2 lakh
• Central Sector Scheme of scholarship for college and university students who have obtained 80% and above marks in Class 12
• Merit Scholarship for obtaining the highest marks in HSC in municipal/ corporation school
• Physically Challenged scholarship for students with disability
• Minority Scholarship for Christians, Muslims, Sikhs and, Buddhist students who have obtained at least 50% marks in previous exams 
• Special scholarship for MBA students who have actively participated in NSS, NCC, YRC and, RRC based on their performance in the respective fields

Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme cannot get direct admission to the institute's MBA programme. They must appear for the TANCET (TANCET/ CET/ MAT for Management Quota) followed by the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.  

The seat allotment for HICAS MBA course is based on marks obtained by candidates in the TANCET/ CET/ MAT followed by the GDPI. HICAS MBA seat intake is 240. Admission is purely based on merit, subject to the reservation rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the University. 50% of the total seat intake is to be filled as per the reservation policy stipulated by the regulatory bodies and remaining 50% of the seats are to be filled through the Management Quota.
