IIM Amritsar shortlists candidates based on their entrance exam scores at the first level. Aspirants must have a valid score in CAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE or JAM for admission. Shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round for admission. The institute also considers Class 10, Class 12, qualifying degree marks and work experience and gender diversity for final selection. 

Candidates willing to take admission in courses offered at IIM Amritsar must fulfil the required eligibity criteria for that particular course. IIM Amritsar courses admissions are completely entrance exam based. 

IIM Amritsar offers a two-year full-time MBA programme. Candidates aspiring to take admission in MBA programme at IIM Amritsar must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories). Also, candidates should have a valid CAT score based on which they will get shortlisted for the personal interview (PI) round.

Selected candidates will have to report to the admission cell at IIM Amritsar for document verification and fee payment for final seat allotment.

IIM Amritsar offers a two-year hybrid mode Executive MBA programme. Interested candidates must have a UG degree in any domain with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for reserved categories). Besides, having UG degree, candidates should also have a three-years of work experience. Also, candidates should have a valid score in CAT/ GRE/ GMAT/ GATE exam followed by a PI round. Candidates can also appear for IAAT conducted by IIM Amritsar EMBA. For other courses, admission is based on entrance-exam.

IIM Amritsar offers a five-year Integrated programme in Management or IPM leading to MBA. Students in the course get an option to exit the course in three-years with a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance and Economics degree. Students are shortlisted for IPM based on their IPMAT scores. Selected candidates have to further pass a personal interview round for admission.

Candidates must pass a bachelor's or a master's degree or any other equivalent degree, preferably involving Management, Mathematics, Computer Science or allied fields with at least 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA or first class to apply for MSc programme at IIM Amritsar. Besides, aspirants must also have a valid score in CAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE or JAM for admission.

Yes, IIM Amritsar provide equal opportunity to students to apply for scholarships. The IIM Amritsar scholarship recipient will continue to receive the allotted scholarship in the second year of the MBA programme as well only if the candidate secures a CGPA of not less than 2.96 in the first year.

Candidates when filling out the application form also need to pay an application fee. For MBA, aspirants need to register for CAT. Academic scores is a parameter and a component considered for calculating the final composite score. Once the PI round is over, candidates are selected based on their composite score. IIM Amritsar composite score include the PI score and Post PI score. The post-PI score for each candidate is calculated based on the aggregate scores obtained in PI, work experience, gender diversity and academic diversity. The pre-PI score is calculated based on CAT score, academic performance, gender diversity and work experience. Since, academic scores are an important part of selection, aspirants must score well.
