IIT Guwahati PhD Application Process 2024

IIT Guwahati conducts the application process for PhD in online mode. Candidates can visit the official website of the institute and submit a duly filled application form along with all the required documents. At the end of the online application process, each candidate needs to make payment of the application (processing) fee* online. The applications without successful (online) payment of the application fee shall be rejected. To apply for PhD at IIT Guwahati, follow the step-wise application process explained below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of IIT Guwahati (www.iitg.ac.in). On its homepage, click on the ‘Admission’ tab and choose ‘PG’ from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Click on ‘Application Procedure’ to proceed further. The online application portal opens up. The admission brochure and course structure PDFs can be downloaded from this page.

Step 3: Click on the ‘New User Register Here' button. Fill the registration form with all the details, including name, email ID, contact number, course preference, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.

Step 4: Further, fill in the remaining application form by addressing other details, including guardian info, address of communication, etc. Also, upload a passport-size photograph and signature at this step.

Step 5: Pay an application fee of INR 300 in the online mode through the SBI payment gateway using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

Step 6: Proceed with the second-last step of the application form by filling in the entrance exam, work experience (if any), reference & publications, and academic details.

Step 7: Conclude the application process by approving the self-declaration and hitting the ‘Submit’ button. Candidates can also download and print the application form for future references.

IIT Guwahati is an awesome college.

Placements: IIT Guwahati campus is very large. Since I am a Ph.D. scholar, the research facilities in this college are very good. Around 80-85% of students get placed in our course. The highest salary package in our college is 57 LPA, the average salary package is 11 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 6 LPA. Companies like Aditya Birla, Tata, and PhonePe recruit students from our course. Every student gets an internship in the 2nd or 3rd year through hard work.

Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued by students. The quality of food in the mess is average. There are three canteens on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket.

Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders. The course curriculum is relevant to industry needs. Besides, one has to prepare themselves too. Each semester has 2 exams, mid-term and end-term. One needs to have at least 35% in order to pass the course.

Beautiful college.

Placements: A very reputable institute of India in all dimensions, including placement. The placement was very good. The highest package offered was 20 LPA. The average package in our course was around 8 LPA. Around 80% of students received placement offers.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course were extremely good. It is one of the most beautiful institutions in India. Wi-Fi campus and library were present. A hostel with a family was available in this IIT. Food quality in the canteen and mess was also good.

Faculty: Professors were helpful, qualified, knowledgeable, and well-experienced in their respective domains of study. Teaching quality of our faculty members was extremely good. The course curriculum was relevant. The semester examinations were quite tough.

Really very good college and had a great experience.

Placements: IIT Guwahati is best. All the students got placement from my college because IIT is among the top colleges. The highest package offered is 40 lacs per annum and the lowest package is 4 to 8 LPA. The top companies which are Biocon, Bioneeds, and Cipla, etc. The percentage of students who got internship opportunities is 84%. The top roles offered in our course make the student ready for work.

Infrastructure: Our college has a large range of campus areas; each block has its own facilities. The college provides a Wi-Fi zone, a big library, and many facilities for students such as water, a library card, a bookstore, a locker, and a parking area. Hostel facilities are good. The canteen facility provides good food and the mess also provides food, both North and South Indian.

Faculty: The faculty is the best in our college. Teachers are very helpful in teaching. The teachers' methodology of teaching is very good. Our faculty are from top companies and have worked. They have more than 20 to 30 years of experience. Practical experience is provided and makes the student ready for industry. The semester exams are hard to pass. The passing percentage is 90%.

The Best IIT in India with good packages and facilities.

Placements: The percentage of students placed in IIT Guwahati was 98% of our batch. In our course, more than 90% got placed. The highest package offered was 39 LPA and the lowest was 10 to 15 LPA. Recruiting companies included Tata Chemical, BAFS, Apollo, and other top companies. Students internships in companies with stipends. Roles offered in the course were process engineering, analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure were very good. Each branch had different building blocks, including separate libraries, labs, and classrooms. Our course provided all resources and facilities, including materials, lab facilities, and library facilities. Hostel food was not very good. The canteen food was good but costly. Medical facilities were available for all.

Faculty: Teachers were like friends. They supported us academically and in gaining industry experience. The teaching quality was very good. Teachers were well qualified with Masters and Ph.D. They had good knowledge. The course curriculum was relevant to the industry. Semester exams were hard to pass. The pass percentage was 83%.
