Good placement and the best college.

Placements: IIT is best for placement. The percentage of students placed in our course is 78%, as our seniors said. The highest package offered is 37 LPA, the lowest package offered is 4 to 6 LPA, and the average package offered is 9 to 14 LPA. Recruiting companies for our course are Bioage, Clasp, Alamar BioScience, and Alumis, etc. The percentage of students who got internships in our course is 68%, as Research Analysts with stipends.

Infrastructure: The facilities are good in IIT in our branch. As IIT provides the best facilities, there is Wi-Fi on campus with high range, and classrooms are large. There are seminar halls and libraries that are full of all books. The mess food is good in the hostel, and the hostel provides all basic facilities. Sports are grandly conducted, and many medals are given. We have a large playground.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful and friendly. Their teaching quality is good and unique. They give real-world examples. They have high degrees and more than 20 years of experience in teaching and the industry. They make us ready for the industry, and the course is relevant. The semester exams are hard to pass. The pass percentage is 73%.

It is excellent for the beautification of nature. It has vast areas for research.

Placements: About 70% of students are placed in this course. The highest package offered is 13 LPA, the average package offered is 7 LPA and the lowest package offered is 4 LPA. The top hiring companies are Wipro, and many students from Microsoft go here and get internships from Google; about 75% students get internships. The top roles are Biochemist lecturer, etc.

Infrastructure: This college has very good infrastructure and facilities. The Wi-Fi facility is good and there is a lab that is well maintained and a library that has a lot of books. The hostel has a separate mess where food is prepared hygienically. Even canteens are available. Medical facilities are available as hospitals are nearby. Sports and games are supported to maintain our physical fitness.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, well qualified and know their subject. Teaching quality is also very good. They help us understand concepts more easily. This course is curriculum-relevant and makes students industry-ready. Exams are tough; try to get more marks. About 85% of students passed.

This is the best college for biotechnology in Ph.D. course at Guwahati.

Placements: About 10–20% of students were placed last year. The maximum pay package offered was 14 LPA, and the minimum pay package was 9 LPA. The most common pay package was 9 LPA. The top recruiting firms were from pharmaceuticals. About 40–50% of students got internships in pharma.

Infrastructure: World-class facilities allow students to not only learn in a lab environment but also conduct research. Sports facilities are also encouraged as part of the curriculum. The food quality in the canteen is average. The hostel rooms are nice and the old hostels look very aesthetic.

Faculty: There is a nice mix of experience and youth. The institute is in its infancy and has a motivated faculty and an updated course curriculum. Teaching methods involve theory courses interspersed with labs. Industry exposure is available during the long summer vacation provided to encourage such opportunities.

Placements: The maximum number of companies visited in 2021 was from the information technology and software sectors and the maximum offers were made for computer science & engineering department students. The highest package offered in the year 2021 was 70 lacs per annum and the average package offered was 21.42 lacs per annum. The companies that visit for internships are Amazon, Cisco, Adobe, IBM, Bajaj Auto Ltd., HSBC, and others. The roles offered are for various profiles, such as analyst, product development intern, software development intern, research intern, and many others. The stipend offered ranges from 50,000 to 1.2 million per month.

Infrastructure: It is compulsory for students at IIT Guwahati to live in hostels. The students are generally provided with a two-bedroom apartment with beds, a cupboard, a table, and a chair. The food quality is quite good and healthy meals are provided. There are three meals provided in all the hostels: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a facility to change your mess subscription if you want to eat in the mess of some other hostel instead of yours. There is no separate registration process for the hostel and the hostels are allotted by the institute's administration but there are provisions for changing your room or hostel by filling out an online form.

Faculty: There are a lot of faculty members with expertise in different fields and you can get faculty in every field you are interested in. Most of the faculty members have done postdocs in their respective fields and teach quite clearly, explaining the concepts. The exams are conducted according to the academic calendar and the exams are moderately difficult.

Other: I chose this course because I always had an interest in the biotech field and wanted to work in the industrial biotech sector.
