The allotment of UCEED 2024 seats will be based on:
UCEED 2023 merit rank of the candidate and
Choice opted at the time of choice filling.
IIT Bombay will conduct registration for counseling from March 14-31, 2024. Candidates who are allocated a merit rank in UCEED 2024 have to select campuses in the order of priority. Note that the allocation of seats will be done institute and category-wise. Candidates who have been allocated seats will have to get their documents verified and pay the admission fees.
UCEED 2024 counseling will have THREE seat allotment rounds. The 1st allotment will be made on Apri 10, 2024.
A total of 205 B. Des seats are offered by the five UCEED 2024 participating institutes. IIT Bombay conducts a Joint Admission Process for filling these seats. The allotment of seats will be based on UCEED 2024 merit rank and campus selected at the time of UCEED 2024 counseling registration. The online registration for UCEED 2024 counseling will be held from March 14 to 31, 2024.
Note that in addition to UCEED 2024 participating institutes, result-sharing institutes will also allocate some seats on the basis of UCEED scores. However, the result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Admission process conducted by IIT Bombay.

According to the latest IIT Guwahati BDes placements report (2024), the highest average package offered during the institutes's placement drive was INR 36.17 LPA and was offered to BDes students.
According to the overall media reports, a total of 466 companies registered for the 2024 drive.102 students received packages of INR 50 LPA. Out of 1,584 registered students 1,124 were placed. The overall IIT Guwahati placement percentage stood at 71%.

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati scholarships are awarded to its undergraduate students to promote and recognise academic excellence, and overall development of meritorious students who have passed their respective qualifying examinations. Scholarships shall be awarded to BDes students based on the recommendations of the scholarship committee of the institute following the norms laid down by the statutes of the institute and as directed by the IIT council from time to time.
IMS is available for BDes students of the institute. The IITG scholarships are meant for the year-wise class toppers of all the streams and are awarded in the second year. Furthermore, it also includes a tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly stipend for eight months.

Yes, IIT Guwahati offers scholarships to BDes students. The institute offers Institute Merit Scholarship, Institute Merit-cum-Means (McM) Scholarships, SC-ST Scholarships and others. Apart from this, the institute also offers assistanship to BDes students. Assistantships are provided to regular students (Indian nationals) in the CEED score condition for getting assistantships is exempted for students with BDes degrees from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with minimum CPI of 8.0.
IIT Guwahati BDes 2025 FAQs
The last date to apply for UCEED 2026 is November 05, 2025. The application process started on October 01, 2025. The last date to fill out the UCEED 2026 application form with late fees is November 10, 2025.
The admission cut-off for Round I of UCEED 2025 will be released alongside the seat allotment results on April 21, 2025.
This will be followed by 2nd allotment on May 19, 2025. The 3rd round of allotment will be declared on June 10, 2025.
The cut-off has been released in the form of category-wise opening and closing ranks. Also, the cut-off is released for all the participating institutes. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will get admission to the B. Des programme. However, if the candidate fails to meet the cut-off criteria, he or she will be considered for admission in subsequent rounds. Note that UCEED 2025 counseling will have FIVE seat allotment rounds, and for each round a separate cut-off would be released.
Note that the Part A cut-off will be released on February 6, 2024.
The important dates of UCEED 2026 cover events like the commencement and deadline to fill out the UCEED application, admit card release and exam date, result date, and seat allotment schedule. To be considered for admission to UCEED 2025 participating institutes, the candidates need to meet the following conditions simultaneously:
- Age limit - The candidate needs to be born on or after October 1, 1999. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, there is a relaxation of five years.
- UCEED 2025 qualification - The candidate must have qualified in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and must have been allocated a merit rank.
- Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all the subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2023 or should be appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025.
The 2023 placement details are yet to be released. It will be updated here as and when released. According to the placement report 2022, 1,243 students registered for the 2022 placement process. Out of these, 921 students were placed successfully. The overall placement rate in 2022 stood at 74.09%.
