The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad scholarships vary from merit to means. IIT Hyderabad Scholarships FAQs
Below are the IIT Hyderabad Scholarships FAQs:
IIT Hyderabad M.Tech fees is INR 2.63 Lacs in the academic year 2026. The aforementioned fees is charged from regular category students of IIT Hyderabad M.Tech course. However, for government sponsored students, the IIT Hyderabad M.Tech course fees is INR 3.75 lakh.
The aforementioned fees is charged on per semester basis in four instalments.
Candidates should check the information for Merit-cum-means scholarship:
- GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC category students can apply
- Parental Gross Income shall not exceed Rs. 4.5 Lakhs for any category.
- Income Tax Return (ITR) with Acknowledgement from IT Department has to be submitted as Income Proof of Parents (Father and Mother or Guardian, if any).
- The number of students to be awarded MCM scholarship will be limited to 25% of the Class Strength.
- The student should secure a SGPA / CGPA of 7.0 and above with no active backlogs (Fail Grade) in any type of courses (Including Additional courses).
- Shortlisted students are eligible for Pocket Money of Rs.1,000 per month.
- Students should avail only a single scholarship / stipend / financial aid, only from a single stakeholder for a given period of time i.e. Students cannot avail multiple scholarships / financial assistance from multiple stakeholders (Govt. / Private / any external agencies) for the same academic year.
The fees for 2 years MSc in IIT Hyderabad is around INR 17,000. After the final selections, students are required to make a payment to confirm their seats. Aspirants can also review the fee structure while comparing institutes. The fees at IIT Hyderabad include various components such as tuition fees, caution deposits, hostel charges, and mess charges.

Placements: Placements were very good. Almost all students get placed. Most of my friends got placed. Mostly students were placed in different top universities as associate professors. Some students were getting internships from foreign countries like Japan, Russia, the UK, USA universities. Good internship opportunities were available for all branches. You can receive information regarding these from the Office of Career Service OCS IITH. A lot of Japanese companies hire from here.
Placements: From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Some companies that visit the college are Samsung Research, Adobe Research, and Intel. The highest package offered this year is 90 LPA, and the average package offered is 23 LPA. The percentage of students who get placements is 74.90 percent. Placements: Honestly, the campus placements here are fantastic. If you have skills, it's pretty straightforward to get placed with a decent package. We're talking about a 100% placement rate because more than enough companies are coming to our campus. It's not unusual for a student to end up with two job offers. The highest and the lowest packages vary by branch, but I'd say the top package can reach up to 50 LPA, while the lowest sits around 15 LPA-16 LPA.
Placements: 70% were placed in my college last year. The highest package is 30 LPA. All students got an internship in our branch. It is one of the best branches at IIT Hyderabad. You can also prepare for tech. The course of our branches is well prepared and organised.
Placements: The course I chose, engineering physics is more research-oriented. This year, only 5 out of 25 students got placed. But I am sure only 10-15 applied for placements as most are inclined to research. Internships are offered by multiple types of companies like software companies but also other ones like LIGO. Some people did internships in universities in Germany too.
Placements: Around 60-70% of students from my Mechanical Engineering branch were placed, with a total batch strength of approximately 60 students. Out of these, around 10 secured core placements, primarily in PSUs like BPCL BEL and IOCL, as most core companies prefer M.Teach graduates. The rest of the placed students moved into non-core sectors like IT and management, joining companies such as Deloitte, Javis, ICICI, and Chub Analytics.
