Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Jammu need to appear in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. For MTech, admission is subject to GATE score followed by COAP counselling. Admission to PhD programme is entrance-based. Applicants need to appear for IIT JAM for admission to MSc programme.
IIT Jammu offers seats to candidates based on their entrance exam scores. Admission to BTech and M.Tech is based on JEE advanced and GATE scores, respectively. The selection for MSc programmes is based on IIT JAM score. Candidates need to pass any of the accepted exam for PhD. Hence, direct admission is not possible for UG, PG and PhD courses.
Yes, you will get CSE at IIT Jammu with a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of 6000 if you belong to the General AI quota. However, you have to wait till the last round, as the cutoff ranks are generally higher in the initial rounds. For the unreserved category, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff 2025 was 5988 in the first round. In the last round, the cutoff rank closed at 6651. Therefore, the probability of you getting CSE with a 6000 rank is high in the last round for admission. Please note that the cutoff ranks vary every year for each round. So target a rank lower than 6000 to improve your chances of admission. Successfully making it to the list of various ranking agencies at the national level, IIT Jammu ranked at 56 position in the recently released NIRF ranking 2025. Additionally, it also holds a record of offering the highest and average package of INR 53 LPA and INR 15.5 LPA, respectively, to the students.
The IIT Jammu highest and average package offered during BTech CSE placements 2024 was INR 52 LPA and INR 19 LPA, respectively. A total of 114 companies participated in the drive and 132 offers were made during IIT Jammu placements 2024 for BTech course.
There are various components that are included in the IIT Jammu fees. Components in the fee are one-time chargeable/refundable/non-refundable.
