Yes, students can get admission in IIT Mandi without JEE exam. But this is not applicable for the flagship BTech programme. For BTech admission at any IIT, students have to appear for JEE Main + Advanced exams. However, for the other programmes, such as MBA, MTech, BSc, etc., other exams are accepted. 

Indian Institute of Technology Mandi offers admission primarily on the basis of the scores obtained in the national level entrance exams including JEE Main, JEE Advanced, CAT, IIT JAM, GATE, UGC NET, and CSIR NET. To get admission to IIT Mandi, candidates must fulfil the course-specific eligibility. Candidates can apply to the desired course online on the institute's website.

Admission criteria to IIT Mandi is both, merit and entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams. The application fee for MS by Research/ PhD is INR 200 and INR 100 for General/ EWS/ OBC/ OBC (NCL)/ Transgender/ Foreign Nationals and Women/ SC/ ST/ PD, respectively. JEE application fee for boys is INR 1,000, INR 800 for girls, and INR 500 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category students. Candidates applying for MTech, need to pay GATE application fee for boys, which is INR 1,700, INR 850 for girls, and INR 850 for SC/ST/PwD category students. Only after the payment of application fees, the form is successfully submitted.
