JEE Advanced 2025 Minimum Marks to Get IIT for OBC Category: The candidates who belong to the other backward class (OBC) category usually need a minimum of 50 to 90 marks to get an IIT seat, however, last year there was a spike in the minimum marks needed in JEE Advanced to get an IIT. Last year, the OBC candidates needed 102 - 103 marks out of 360 to get an IIT seat under the gender-neutral pool of seats, whereas 98 marks were required to get a seat under the female seat pool. This was the highest JEE Advanced minimum marks needed by OBC candidates to get an IIT seat in the past 7 years.

  • Candidate should be born on or after October 1, 2001.
  • Age relaxation of five years is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates.

Q:   Can I apply for JEE Advanced exam via any offline mode?
A:

No. Candidates can only apply for the JEE Advanced exam online on the official website - jeeadv.ac.in. There is no offline for available to apply for the exam. All steps of the application process is online.

IIT Admission Criteria After Qualifying JEE Advanced for OBC Category Candidates

After qualifying the JEE Advanced exam, there are a few more criteria that the candidates must fulfil to get admission to an IIT via the JoSAA counselling, check them below:

  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (class 12 boards) examination.
  • Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 65% aggregate marks, if the candidate is from SC or ST category.
    or
    Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list http://www.ncbc.nic.in, https://socialjustice.gov.in and https://ncst.nic.in) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

The five subjects can be Maths, Physics, Chemistry, a language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered), and any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks will be considered).
