B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2027
4.2
Excellent new infrastructure and world-class research faculty, but placements need improvement.
Placements: Most B.Tech job offers come from non-core engineering, IT, and software roles. The average package is around 10-12 LPA, which is respectable but modest compared to top-tier IITs. High-paying roles above 25 LPA are fewer. The Placement Cell works actively to bring reputed companies, but industry connections are still developing. Most students from our Civil Engineering batch (2027) are now targeting non-core software roles because very few core civil companies visit the campus. Those companies do often offer comparatively low packages that many do not find satisfactory.
Infrastructure: When I joined in 2023, almost half of the campus was still under construction. Now, most of the work is complete. The campus infrastructure has significantly improved. Since facilities are newly built, we have access to modern amenities and well-designed, high-quality hostels. The classrooms are modern, and labs are equipped with state-of-the-art instruments. Crucially, the entire campus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi access for all students, supporting both academic and research needs. The central library is well-stocked and fully digitized. Furthermore, the campus has excellent sports facilities and a modern mess dining hall.
Faculty: Faculty at IIT Tirupati is unarguably its strongest asset. Professors are young, highly motivated, and hold Ph. D.s from top international and national institutions. They are extremely knowledgeable and committed to research. They often encourage students to participate in ongoing projects. They are also highly approachable. They guide students not only academically but also personally. They help with internships and clarifying complex concepts with patience. Their willingness to help makes the environment feel almost like a family. Exams are mostly easy to pass, with many students studying just one night before the exam. However, scoring above a 9 GPA is quite difficult.
Other: To be honest, many students join newer IITs because their JEE Advanced rank might not have been sufficient for the older IITs. I join IIT Tirupati with the hopeful expectation of securing a top-tier placement. While my two years here are academically enriching, filled with excellent research opportunities and a supportive faculty. The placement outcome does not entirely meet the highest expectations set by the IIT tag. For me personally, the most fun part about college is the inter-IIT tournament and the annual fest of IIT Tirupati.

Placements were okay in 2024. It has good infrastructure and nice hostels.
Placements: Placements are average in our college. The highest package of last year was 40 LPA. But, this year our technical secretary is trying to improve the situation regarding the placements of core and non-core. My branch here is civil. The highest package in the core of civil is 17 LPA.
Infrastructure: The civil department here has pretty good infrastructure. Here, many labs are present that give hands-on experience. All labs and classrooms are equipped with a Wi-Fi facility. Libraries are pretty well-stocked with core books and materials. Hostels in the first year are 3-4 sharing rooms but in the second year, there are personal rooms for boys.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite well-qualified. They are PhD holders from universities all around the world. Courses here are up to date but there are some lacking areas due to lack of funds for high-tech equipment. Every semester is conducted in test-1, test-2, and end-semester format which becomes quite hectic for students as there are exams almost every month. The difficulty is what we expect from an IIT which brings down the passing percentage to around 20-30%. The course curriculum is up to date.
Other: Placements need to be improved. Events are not that grand because this is a third-generation IIT and there are lack of funds. The campus crowd is pretty small for example, the intake in B.Tech first year was just 240 students in 2024. The connectivity is a big issue as Tirupati city is located 25-30 kilometers away from the campus. Many clubs are present and the club culture is increasing rapidly in our college which helps students to explore various fields of interest after coming to college.

The fastest growing 3rd gen IIT.
Placements: 80% students are getting placed. The highest package was 13 LPA, the least was 6 LPA, and the average was 8 LPA. MathWorks, Texas Instruments, Amazon, Samsung, Microsoft, L&T, Toshiba are some of the top recruiting companies that visited the college. 40% students choose to go for internships.
Infrastructure: There are diverse facilities offered here. There's a gym in 2 of the boys' hostels. High-speed Wi-Fi is present all over the campus 24x7. The classrooms look top-notch with various seating capacities. The library here is still developing. The mess food is good enough. There's a health center here that operates all the time with an ambulance at service. Presently, there's only one ground, but there'll be one more ground coming up in the next few years.
Faculty: Faculty members for the course are highly experienced and qualified, not only in the subject but also in philosophy. They try their best to support us in learning the things. Every student is free to take the project under professors of their choice. There'll be exams every 5 weeks.
Other: The college organizes an annual techno-cultural fest, TIRUTSAVA, in the month of January. It's a 3-day fest and consists of various technical and literary events. Apart from that, there are several student clubs in the college like Sargam (music club), PFC (photography club), Xcite (dance club), Techmaniacs, Oratory Club, E-cell, and a lot more, which conduct various events on a regular basis.

It is a good place to learn engineering.
Placements: Placements of civil engineering in the core are not much appreciable. There are very less core companies recruiting even though the placement in non-core is quite good. This year, some students managed to get salary packages of above 10 LPA and some have got even 20 LPA. But that is for non-core. People from civil engineering are going to diverse fields like IT, consulting firms, and some opted for higher studies too. Overall, the placement percentage is above average.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped with all the modern facilities and instruments. Classes are also fully packed. There are very highly qualified professors and some of them are highly passionate about teaching. There is a medium-size library in the college and it is easily accessible. Also, the college gives an access to a lot of E-journals and papers via the central library feature online. Hostels are also very well-constructed. There is a good amount of space available for students. Once you reach campus, you will start loving the campus due to its beautiful infrastructure. The mess is also available and the food quality is amazing. The food is made while taking into consideration of south and north Indian students. This is one of the nicest things one will find. There is a sports complex too which consists of an outdoor and indoor stadium. The outdoor stadium contains basketball and volleyball grounds and the indoor has badminton and table tennis courts.
Faculty: Faculty members for each course are highly experienced and qualified. They try their best to support us in learning the course. We used to have industry visits during normal days (due to covid we are not having now ) and some students go for internships also to get field experience. Every student is free to take the project under professors of his choice and professors welcome students to work on projects.
Other: Our college organises an annual event ''Tirutsava.'' It is a techno-cultural 3 days event and it consists of various technical and literary events. Apart from it, the college has various clubs like Sargam, Actomania, Xcite (dance club), PFC (photography club), Techmaniacs, debate club, etc., which conduct various events on regular basis.

Satisfied because of faculty, good placements in 2024, good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Most of the students were placed but with less packages. As far as I know highest was 85lakhs from CS branch and Average was around 10-12 lakhs and lowest might be around 3-4 lakhs, i am not so sure about it. Internships were a bit low, out of 30 students may be 10 will be recruited in good companies as interns. As I am still a second year student we are not aware of recruiting companies. And most of them in civil engineering choose to go for further education, very few choose to accept placement.
Infrastructure: Every thing Wifi Labs Classrooms and library will be 10/10.They are perfect and never fail to assist us in campus. Hostels are not up to expectations , food is also very nice, but it will be mostly in North style with less spicy, and we don't have a proper canteen and it is not nice. Medical facilities are also very nice, they will take good care of us. Sports and games are also going very well. We can learn anything we want.
Faculty: Teachers are the best thing in this college, they are very are friendly and in fact they guide a lot us about our future. They are very well qualified and most knowledgeable. They teach very well and most of students pass the courses . Semester exams will be tough enough, untill unless we study everything and work hard enough , it is difficult to pass course. Pass percent will be around 70-75%. Course curriculum is also relevant according to me.
Other: I was very passionate about civil engineering so that made me choose civil engineering. Faculty is best thing here, also our director is also a civil professor, and we have all the resources in college, which a civil engineering requires. We will be offered with 6000 scholarship if our CGPA is above 6.5 / 7 every year if we are not part of any other scholarship. Every year we will have a tirustava fest in February and it is the time of our college life. Campus is just very beautiful.

I am satisfied with our college, and our college has good infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 99% of students got placed in our college. The salary package offered ranges between 3 LPA - 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Google, Microsoft, and Hitachi. Almost 100% of students got internships from our college. Many top roles were offered to students.
Infrastructure: Our college provided good sports facilities. Our classrooms were clean. Wi-Fi was not available in our classrooms. The food served in our canteen was very good. The hostel was Wi-Fi enabled.
Faculty: Our teachers were good, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was very good. They cleared all our doubts and guided us to the right path. The course curriculum was relevant and made students industry-ready. We had three semesters. Almost 75% of attendance was mandatory. The percentage was 75%.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it. Events, fests, the crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, and extracurricular activities are good.

Good infrastructure & facilities, well knowledgeable and friendly faculty.
Placements: Currently, I am in my second-year pursuing B.Tech in Civil engineering. Only one batch has passed out till now i.e.2020. Our civil department had overall fine placement. About 75-80% of students got placed during campus placement. The average package in our department was about 7-9 Lacs.
Infrastructure: In comparison to other 3rd generation IITs, our college has far better infrastructure. Each classroom is air-conditioned and compatible to accommodate 80-120 students. We have a well-maintained library, laboratories, idea square, mess, indoor & outdoor stadium.
Faculty: The professors are knowledgeable and qualified. They are also helpful. They are ready to help the students even at midnight. Our course makes us self reliable and independent. It makes the students industry-ready.

Satisfied with faculty members, placements are more or less good, and infrastructure is good.
Placements: Percentage of students placed is 13%. The highest package is 13 LPA, the lowest package is 6 LPA, and average package is 8 LPA - 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies are THC, Toshiba, ONGC, DRDO, Velo, and TI. Top roles offered are structural, environment, infrastructure design, R&D, and some software-related placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good and well-equipped with library, classrooms, lecture hall, Wi-Fi, canteen shops, stationery shops, etc. Hostel facilities are good like they have Wi-Fi, common room, gym, washing machines, water cooler, day canteen, and stationery shops. The quality of food they provide in the mess is awesome.
Faculty: Teachers are good and qualified as well but their knowledge delivery is not that good. Not 100% but I can say that they can interpret but cannot build the infrastructure. Exams are medium (not very hard and not very tough). Civil engineering at IIT Tirupati demonstrates solid opportunities in core department.
Other: This course has many government job scopes and we get to know things on practical basis. I think facilities they could improve like they don't have night canteen and like cycle shop they don't have but rest things are good as mentioned above.
