My Experience as a B.Sc. Biotech Student: The Good & The Challenges.

Placements: I am a B.Sc. A biotechnology student, and in our course, around 55-60% of students get placed, mostly in labs, hospitals, and research support companies. The highest package is usually around 5-6 LPA, the lowest around 1.8 LPA, and the average stays near 2.5-3 LPA. Companies like Biocon, Cipla, and local research labs visit for hiring and internships. About half of the students also get internships in hospitals, diagnostic labs, and biotech startups. The top roles include lab technician, quality control trainee, research assistant, and clinical intern. Placements are decent if you are genuinely interested in lab work and research.

Infrastructure: Our biotechnology department has well-equipped labs with microscopes, centrifuges, and a proper practical setup. The classrooms have projectors, and the campus Wi-Fi works most of the time smoothly. The library has a good collection of biotech books and journals that help during exams and practical files. As a girl, I feel the hostel is safe with strict entry timings, clean washrooms, and regular housekeeping. The mess food is manageable and simple. The canteen is a good escape when we crave tasty snacks. The campus also has medical support, sports areas, and peaceful spots to study.

Faculty: The faculty is supportive, qualified, and very approachable. Most teachers explain experiments in details, which really helps during practical exams. The curriculum feels relevant because it covers microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, and other subjects useful for higher studies or lab careers. Exams are moderate; theory needs good writing and diagrams, while practical require consistent practice. If you attend classes regularly, scoring well isn? T difficult. The pass percentage is usually high because teachers help with notes and revision sessions.

Other: Considering the properly equipped labs, safe hostel, and approachable faculty, the course feels worth the fee. For a biotechnology degree, the college provides a good balance of theory, practical exposure, and academic support.

Placements: The percentage of students who were placed in my course is likely 75-85%. Top recruiting companies like Tata, Wipro, etc. The percentage of students who got internships from my course is likely 90%. Companies like Coca-Cola, Yakult, and many more visit our college. They provide roles like chemical tests in lab work.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of my course are the best. They provide separate biotechnology and microbiology labs. A Wi-Fi connection is also available. The infrastructure is the best of our college. They provide the digital library in classrooms with digital screens and AC provided in every classroom.

Faculty: Faculty members are the best. In our college, the faculty of our courses are well educated. They provide us best teaching. They are qualified and knowledgeable. The college provides educational visits and industrial visits for our knowledge Semester exams are not that difficult for us.

An honest review of IMS Ghaziabad UC Campus.

Placements: On different college finder sites it shows that this college has a 90% placements rate but in reality, it is less than 70%. Top recruiting companies are Dabur, Sun farma, DR. Reddy etc. Top roles offered include that pf quality control, and Product manager. The highest average package offered is about 5 lacks per annum and the lowest package is about 1.5 Lacs per annum. Almost all the students get internships from local labs to top labs like BHU and government labs. Those who are not able to get internships on their own, are helped by our H.O.D.

Infrastructure: Two good classrooms and labs are provided in the campus for Biotechnology students which are well maintained along with a lot of lab equipments being available. Hostel rooms are quite big for two students having unlimited wi-fi availability. A water cooler is available with filtered water but the food quality is very poor. Mess food is very bad, especially the Rotis’ quality is the worst.

Faculty: All the faculty members are well trained and qualified. They are helpful but most of them are arrogant and irritating. They will help you only after a lot of request and shouting on you. As compared to the external exams, the internal exams are very tough. You need to secure 33% marks to pass the exams.

Other: I chose this course because there's a good future in this field and the fees of this course was less costly when compared to the other colleges. The best thing about this course is that the lab works we get to do include getting to know the living body very closely. The faculty members should improve their behaviors towards the students. The strictness towards the dress code should be loosed and the course should be shortened a bit. The events are good, held at regular intervals of time in which only the students are allowed. During the fest, they should invite a big star rather than any outdated singer or actor just to save money. On the basis of 12th standard marks we get a scholarship by the college itself which also depends on the total percentage we get.
