1: IIT Tirupati Application Process 2026
Candidates seeking admission at IIT Tirupati need to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, for BTech, candidates are required to apply for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. Similarly, for the MSc, IIT JAM application form is required to be completed. However, for MTech admission, candidates have to register for GATE first. The qualifying candidates have further applied for COAP and then apply on the official website of IIT Tirupati to proceed to confirm their admission. For all other courses, aspirants need to apply on the institute's website.
2: Selection Rounds
IIT Tirupati admits students to BTech courses based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. Candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech courses. Admission to MTech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling. The institute considers IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling for MSc courses.
The institute conducts written test and interview for MS Research and PhD courses. Candidates need to appear for Track 1 and Track 2 written test followed by PI for MPP programme. Candidates can check and download the JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard under their respective login on jeeadv. ac. in. To Download JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard, candidates have to use 7-digit roll number, date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, and the 10-digit phone number that they used while registering for JEE (Advanced).
Also, category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the JEE Advanced 2026 online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.
Only those candidates who will secure minimum marks in JEE Advanced 2026, as prescribed by the IITs will be included in the AIR list for JoSAA counselling and IIT admissions. Allotment of seats will be solely based on the category-wise All India Rank in the JEE Advanced 2026.
IIT Tirupati MTech Admission 2026
IIT Tirupati offers a two-year MTech programme across four specialisations. The institute offers MTech in Chemical, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Admission to this programme is subject to GATE core followed by COAP Counselling. Candidates must pass graduation in relevant subject to apply for MTech.

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 13974 and closing rank was 16658. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to B.Tech. in Civil Engineering in IIT Tirupati is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced.
