B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Internet of Things) - Batch of 2026
4.4
IEM is unarguably the best private college in West Bengal with a steady placement.
Placements: 75% of placements are offered in B.Tech. courses. The highest package was 18 LPA, the lowest was 4.5 LPA and the average was 5 LPA. Companies like Atlassian, Oracle, Flipkart, TCS, etc. recruit freshers from IEM. Paid internships are hard to get but IEM provides plenty of opportunities to apply for internships from various companies.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and labs are digitally well-equipped. Students get free Wi-Fi from IEM, which is usable via their enrollment numbers. Some windows and walls may need some renovation but the overall infrastructure of IEM is good. IEM consists of three campuses in Salt Lake City.
Faculty: The faculty members at IEM are well qualified and equipped with a Masters degree and some even have a doctorate degree. Sometimes the faculty members may appear harsh or tough but they are just looking out for you. The style of teaching is good and provides an interactive session with the students.

Every year this college breaks it's own placement record of previous years.
Placements: This college is known for its placement percentage among all private colleges in West Bengal. Around 97 percent of students were placed this year. The average package offered is 12 Lacs. Every student gets at least one and the highest six offer letters. The highest salary offered by IEM this year is 78.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are messy and campus is small. Infrastructure is average. Canteen and cafeteria are present in every building. Labs, library are well maintained. Campus is covered with high-speed Wi-Fi service. There are basketball court present in all campuses.
Faculty: Being an autonomous college, the course curriculum and exams are very beneficial for students. The questions are comparatively tough. And number of papers are comparatively higher. Teachers are helpful, friendly and highly qualified. Every year 3-5 ESP subjects are taught and grades of that papers are reflected on grade card.
Other: Many tech fests and events are organized every year.

I am satisfied with the college.
Placements: The highest salary package offered was 36 LPA. The average salary package is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, Asian paints, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, etc. Every student gets placement as 100% placement is done.
Infrastructure: Labs are well equipped, with huge classrooms with 2 projectors in classrooms. Teachers always use the microphone for teaching. Management house has CCD for canteen but in gurukul has canteen. The food and its quality are nice.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly, knowledgeable, and are Ph.D. holders from NITs or IITs. They do less board work and try to explain things via PPT that they prepare. Since it is our first offline exams post covid. The difficulty level is low in end semester exam.
Other: It is the best engineering college in West Bengal. It is a bit strict but fine. Students need to be punctual and disciplined.

I am satisfied with the style of teaching methods of our faculty members.
Placements: Placement is very good as this college is known for placement only. The lowest package was 4-5lakh and the highest package was 35-40 Lacs. IBM, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. Are some well-known companies here and their recruitment process is very awesome. Internship is also good.
Infrastructure: Facilities in academic activities are up-to-date and frankly speaking infrastructure is not so good but it has such accommodations to provide space to each student and library is also a good learning platform for all students who can receive books as per requirement. Medical facilities are also up to mark.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite helpful and loving who are always there to help everyone in need. There is no partiality and everyone s given chance to showcase their talents in order to achieve success. CSE in iot is very much relevant for industry as this course is although new but in huge demand in coming years. Semester exam are like board exam and is not so difficult.

This college is known for its placements.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 40 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges from 4 LPA - 5 LPA. Most of the students get placed in this institute IEM Kolkata depending on their skills and talents. IBM, Cognizant, Wipro, etc., are some of the renowned recruiters of this college. In the course of IoT in the CS branch, students are advised to make smart homes, smart devices, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities in academic activities are up-to-date, and the infrastructure is not good. Good placements, average or below-average infrastructure, average faculty, great events.
Placements: IEM is known for its placement record. Due to recession, the percentage of placed students decreased a fair bit, down from almost 90% to 85%. The highest package offered in 2023-24 was 20 LPA, and the lowest package was 3.5 LPA. The average package offered in my course, which is Computer Science and Engineering, was about 5-6 LPA this past year. Some of the top recruiting companies for the past year were Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, Capgemini. About 30% of students got an internship from the course and in some top MNCs like Juspay. The top roles offered in our course are for the Software Engineering Roles.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure at IEM should improve a fair bit. The Wi-Fi offered in our college isn't the worst, but sometimes it just disconnects without any proper reason. The classrooms are decent; obviously, there can be better chairs and tables installed, and at times during the summer, we would need ACs, which still haven't been installed. A good facility is our canteen, which looks like a proper college canteen. The food offered there is pretty decent. The sports facilities are a bit of a let-off, to be honest, because they don't follow any proper infrastructure. We have got only one basketball court in our college building, where you can play basketball during the recess.
Faculty: The faculty members at IEM are pretty average. All of them are well qualified, but most of them lack teaching ability. Students often go to college only for the purpose of attendance, not because of the teaching quality. Some faculty members are pretty helpful, but others lack knowledge to be able to properly teach particular subjects. The course curriculum is relevant as it teaches students the basic concepts required for a CSE Student to be hired into top MNCs. These subjects include OOPs, DBMS, Data Structures, and Algorithms, etc. The semester exams aren't too difficult, and if you follow a proper study pattern, you would be able to answer most of the questions in the exams. The pass percentage is about 98 percent.

Review of Institute of Engineering and Management.
Placements: Placements are 100% at our college. The highest salary package offered was 38 LPA, and the average was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies in our college are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, ACI Paints, and many more. There is no issue with placements here.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are huge, with two projectors to enable students at the back of the class to see the board.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They are highly qualified from either of the NITs or IITs. They always speak on the microphone. They teach well. They try to make sure that the students understand the context. The course curriculum is relevant. The difficulty level now is kept low as it's our first offline exam post-COVID.
