Once-in-a-lifetime experience at the college.
Placements: It is just average, honestly speaking. Jesus and Mary College is more of an arts-dominated college than a science college. This is why most students prefer to pursue higher studies or a PG rather than getting direct placements. There are exceptions, such as certain Economics departments with average placements and normal packages. Most students prefer to do a PG to become professors or prepare for UPSC and other competitive exams.
Infrastructure: Jesus and Mary College is known for having some of the best and most attractive infrastructure in DU. There is an AC library that is accessible at any time. There are indoor gyms and many beautiful places for sitting or taking selfies. The canteen is nice, with standard food prices of around Rs. 50 and slightly more for certain items. There is no hostel in JMC for students, only accommodation for Christian staff.
Faculty: Teachers are really experienced, with a high-quality understanding of the curriculum and language. This keeps fluency in both English and Hindi in mind. They provide the syllabus at the beginning and conduct classes regularly, with fewer class cancellations. College exams are not very difficult, as knowing the pattern makes it easy to score well. Class attendance and passing the internal assessments carefully are important. Faculty is really mindful and smart.
Other: I chose my course because I personally have an interest in history and got the opportunity to pursue it here. I mostly like the faculty and teaching style of my course. One change I want is a little flexibility in assignments, as students involved in other activities sometimes find it difficult to manage time. Events are regular and well-managed by students, teaching them management and teamwork. The fest is well-managed, organized, and enjoyable. There are also scholarships and many societies to explore.

Absolutely satisfied with faculty. Placements rely on individual ability to network.
Placements: This course is for students who are genuinely curious about literature. English Honors is considered a dynamic degree that allows students to branch out into multiple sectors like HR, Publishing, Copywriting, and Academia. Specifically, in JMC, the English department has some of the most accomplished faculty that Delhi University has to offer. Our batch is graduating in 2027, and as a third-year student, I have multiple companies brought in by the Placement Cell, like Accenture, Network 18, etc. It depends on the skills one can develop and transfer into the internships. The statistics vary every year.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have moderate and acceptable infrastructure. There is college Wi-Fi, but accessibility varies in different areas around the campus. The library has a huge collection of books. It is diverse and easy to borrow. There is air conditioning in the library but not in the classrooms. There is a gym available on a membership basis, along with a football field, basketball courts, and other indoor sports facilities. There is one canteen, chaat corners, and Mother Dairy. All of them are hygienic, but the quality of food varies. The service is considered slow, but they function smoothly.
Faculty: Faculty is full of experienced researchers. Professors seem to enjoy teaching. Some tutorials allow us to clear doubts and help with internal assessment. The curriculum is relevant. If we analyze core papers, which include classical texts to modern literature research topics. The discussions are engaging. The exam system, however, could be subjective. The value of attendance, with a minimum of 66%, is linked to marks, which becomes exhaustive. The end-semester exams are moderately difficult. The minimum pass percentage is 40% in both theory and internals, which is fairly achievable if one is regular.
Other: I wish the curriculum were more flexible. I chose this course to explore multiple career avenues, and I am able to do that with this degree. I admire the expanse of literature we can explore, from classics like Pride and Prejudice to Jane Eyre and Indian writing papers that encourage critical thinking at every step. The fests are subpar but structured well. The crowd is unarguably the best, with a very welcoming and supportive environment. There are scholarships available for students with financial needs. The college is connected to the Pink Line and Yellow Line metro, and autos are available at all times. The societies are fun.

Beautiful campus and facilities.
Placements: Talking about on-campus placements, only 1 student got placed at Bluevine. Internships are mainly in NGOs, psychology, graphic designing, etc. However, most people do not go for placements, and they prefer going for Master's in colleges like DSE, JNU, etc.
Infrastructure: Library consists of two complete racks for Sociology along with other books. Classrooms are equipped with fans. ACs are not available. College is equipped with infrastructure for PWD candidates with ramps and toilets. Hostel is not available in the college.
Faculty: Most of the professors in the Sociology department are approachable, friendly, and knowledgeable. This ensures that there is a gap between studying for school and studying for college. The course is mainly theoretical in nature, helping students get into public policy, international relations, law, research, and teaching. The semester exams are quite easy, and most students pass.
Other: JMC is a fairly active college with active societies. Competitions and events keep happening often. However, the college fest, Montage, was cancelled in 2026. The Campus area is also relatively safe because it is situated in Chanakyapuri, along with good connectivity through Durgabai Deshmukh and Lok Kalyan metro stations.

A ladyland, faculty is helpful, metro station is near, washrooms are cleaner, & people are friendly.
Placements: To be very honest, I have not witnessed any placements this year from my course. It is also because many students focus on government exam preparation, while some are interested in public policy and research. Mostly, placements take place in courses such as Psychology Honors, Sociology Honors, B.Com, etc.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is really pretty. The environment is very soothing. JMC has become a home for many of us. For my course, tutorial rooms as well as lecture halls are available. JMC does not have its own hostel. The food in the canteen is nice, and to add a cherry on top. There is a bhelpuri corner available in our college, which actually tastes amazing. Apart from this, we also have Mother Dairy. A photocopy shop is available inside the college itself. The gym facility is also available. The medical room is functional.
Faculty: The staff is very supportive and helpful. All of them are well qualified and experienced. For Political Science, I would say that the permanent professors are a bit difficult to understand, but the ad hoc faculty is much better. The Sociology department is very good. All professors, whether senior or new, have a wonderful way of teaching. I believe the curriculum is very relevant. It enhances your ability to think critically. Semester exams are similar to those of other DU colleges, and in my course, everyone passes.
Other: I chose this course because I have a keen interest in Political Science. I opted for Sociology because I want to study something new. I would say that my course perfectly shapes my personality because I study politics and policies. On the other hand, I also analyze the impact they create on society. I wish the permanent professors of the Political Science department would become more serious about their way of teaching. The campus is very pretty and relaxing. Also, it is a ladyland, so anyone can wear anything literally.

Good college, faculty, and crowd.
Placements: The placement cell of the college is quite good. If you're actively applying for internships through the ones sent on the placement cell WhatsApp groups it is quite beneficial as one of my friends got placed after interning with the company provided by the placement cell. The recruitment process starts in the last year and there is mass hiring by some companies while others also recruit for diverse roles.
Infrastructure: JMC's campus is one of the best in the South Campus. The college is beautiful and the infrastructure is properly made and maintained. It gives a premium feel as compared to other du colleges. There is no hostel here. We have computer labs, a library, an auditorium, and a huge campus. We have 3 food outlets here. The environment of the college is pretty good and engaging if one makes good use of it. There are multiple opportunities to explore.
Faculty: The faculty is very good and supportive. We have well-educated professors ever ready to help us with any doubts. The commerce department is really good. The teachers teach everything in detail and also coordinate in times of any emergency or issues. There is proper teaching.
Other: The crowd and college are good. One of the top colleges of the South Campus.

JMC - mix of private and government.
Placements: I am doing psychology and human resource management for my course. There aren't any specific placement opportunities. Although I have heard for commerce people, it's nice. For psychology, till now, I haven't heard if any other college also gets internships directly.
Infrastructure: The campus is pretty and very well maintained, but the classrooms are very average. Sometimes even the chairs are not enough, or the lighting or fans are not proper. It gets extremely hot in summers because we don't have ACs, but the outside is very spacious and beautiful, it's good.
Faculty: Teachers are nice and teach well. There isn't any particular issue with teachers as such. Just that in this college, you will have a lot of classes. I see other DU colleges adjusting easily, that might not happen here. You will have to study a lot of weird subjects too because of DU, but some teachers might even be very helpful.
Other: I would describe JMC as the middle way between DU culture of absolutely no stress and private college because we do have an attendance criteria, and teachers are not cooperative that easily, as I see in Maitreyi.
