Strong academic, average infrastructure, and growing career opportunities at JMC.
Placements: The BA (Hons. ) English Course offers steady placement opportunities alongside strong academic training. Around 50-60% of those who sit for placements secure jobs. The highest package is approximately 10-12 LPA, and the lowest is 4-6 LPA. To recruiters, include Deloitte, EY, and Bane Capability Network. Nearly 70% students complete internships in publishing houses, NGOs, etc.
Infrastructure: The classes are well-ventilated and equipped with projectors (however, in some classes, they do not work). The college library has books, but they are old. There are computer labs and a reading space that support academic work. There are no mirrors in the washrooms, which I find very weird considering it's an all-girls college.
Faculty: The teachers of my department are very helpful, and they have great minds. They also provide a variety of teaching methods. The course doesn't make us industry-ready, it lacks on the practical side. As for semester exams, they are average, as previous year questions are very often repeated.

I am absolutely happy with my college life.
Placements: Most of the students in my course have gotten into roles in publishing houses, HR, or journalism and newspaper agencies. A lot of students continue higher studies to better their skills since it isn’t extremely easy to get placed after the course, but the students seem to do well later. JMC really shapes you in great ways.
Infrastructure: The campus is extremely beautiful and well-equipped. I might argue it is the best campus in all of DU. The library is well-equipped and has a nice resource table for any academic writing to be accessed. The computer labs are huge, and there are a lot of them.
Faculty: The teachers are highly educated, and they take classes very seriously. Unlike other DU colleges, it is very rare for our classes to get cancelled. The professors are regular. The coursework has taught me to think out of the box and between the lines. The semester exams are not extremely tough as long as the students prepare well enough.

JMC is an incredible place to study.
Placements: Placements at JMC are quite good, but for our department, they are not so strong. Content writers and PR specialists are the roles offered to students of our branch. Internships are hardly procured through the college, but placements are definitely much better than most DU colleges.
Infrastructure: Beautiful flowers and lush greenery are everywhere on our campus. Our three-floor library is the highlight, and the fully air-conditioned underground computer labs are where I love spending most of my time. The canteen is average, but Bhelpuri Corners of our campus is where one will find the maximum crowd.
Faculty: The attrition rate among faculty members is a little high at JMC, but prompt replacements are made. All the faculty members who have taught us so far are prime examples of discipline. Our classes start at 8:30, and they are in the classrooms before that. Internals are rather tougher than the end-semester exams, in my opinion.
Other: Two of the biggest events celebrated on our campus include the Diwali Fest Sparsh and the annual fest Montage.

English faculty is the coolest.
Placements: Jesus and Mary College (JMC), DU, is considered above average in placements but not among the absolute top placement colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, or SSCBS. Its strongest offers generally come from sectors like consulting, marketing, finance, and teaching, with companies such as Deloitte, EY, KPMG, McKinsey, and a mix of startups visiting annually.
Infrastructure: I would say the infrastructure of JMC is one of the best in the entire South Campus. The library is three floors and has a very comfortable study environment. The only problem is that this college does not provide any hostel, which is kind of a hassle for outstation students.
Faculty: The English faculty is one of the best in the entire college, and the professors are indeed very helpful and qualified enough. The English Honours curriculum at DU is rich but dense, covering everything from classical literature to modern theory, which can feel overwhelming without consistent reading. Exams are content-heavy and analytical, expecting you to connect text, context, and criticism rather than just narrate lots. Overall, it's rewarding but demanding, best suited for students who genuinely enjoy reading and writing.
Other: When I first entered the college, I am little unsure about my choice. Taking English (Hons.) as a degree didn’t sound satisfying enough to my family either. I do like literature a lot, but what set me back in my 1st year was the competitive environment and self-doubt. Although it did take time for me to overcome this by reading and writing consistently, now I have realised that this was the best choice of my life! Half of the credit goes to the professors since they really put a lot of effort into teaching, plus they are very proficient ATIT too.

JMC is unarguably the best women's college of DU.
Placements: Overall placements of our college are amazing, but for our batch, it's let's say around 40-50 percent. Companies that need content writers or the ones where English speaking or drafting is a necessity are the ones which hire students of our course. Top roles offered to students of our course are HR for sure.
Infrastructure: Our college is best due to its location, as neither South Campus nor North Campus; we are located in Chanakyapuri. Our canteen is big, and our event hall, which is the Thevenet Hall, is not just a monument but a building where we have made ample memories in 2 years of our college life.
Faculty: Our faculty members are all Doctorates and are someone who have ample researches under their belt. They therefore push us for the same, as our final year will be based on research work, and where most students quit after three years, they want us to continue for the fourth year and get an Hons Degree.
Other: Ours is a girls college, but we have many engaging activities in our college. Our annual fest Montage sees participants from almost 100 colleges.

Life in JMC - you'll love it.
Placements: The placements in JMC are around 7 LPA, which is pretty decent for undergraduate level. It differs across different courses like B.Com (Hons) and Eco Hons, which have the highest packages every year. Courses like History Honours and Geography Honours don't offer high placement.
Infrastructure: Hostel is not present in JMC. The infrastructure is the best of that in Delhi University. It is clean and full of greenery. Wi-Fi is not available. Classrooms are big. The Venus Hall is very big and famous in DU. Library is also huge with many books of all types.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, kind, and well qualified. Especially my course, English Honours, teachers are fabulous and help each student very well. They take regular tests and assignments which are of moderate level. The curriculum is also good but can be changed slightly with more modern books and authors.
Other: There are many events of all societies. The societies are highly active and have regular fests. There is scholarship also for selected students. Crowd is very good.

Driving into the world of JMC.
Placements: 83% of students were placed successfully. The highest package being a literature major which was around 25-30,000. The average CTC was around 15-18000 and the lowest was Rs 10-15k. Around 72% of the students got internships. Many were taken as fellow bloggers, editors, etc.
Infrastructure: The college embodies a huge L Park, an amphitheater, a huge Multipurpose hall as well as two gyms that is one open gym area and another gym within the premises of the building. The canteen is huge along with another accompanying food caravan, one football ground and a basketball court.
Faculty: The faculty is extremely understanding and approachable. The English department is extremely helpful, inclusive, and accommodating. They provide assignments and notes, take CAs on time, and provide sufficient time to complete projects or assignments assigned.
Other: The course close is due to two reasons. Literature major students have a variety of courses to resort to from Law, Mass Communication, and Editing to foreign relations. The course material is informative, the faculty of English honours in JMC is one of the best and with the English department fest Literati, Diwali fest SPARSH it becomes all the more appealing.

An underrated DU college!
Placements: There is an active placement cell in the college, which provides great exposure to students of various degrees and courses. However, most of the literature students prefer to go for higher studies, and anyway, their options for placements are very limited when compared to commerce students.
Infrastructure: The campus of Jesus and Mary College is very underrated; the lush green surroundings and well-maintained buildings make it a much more aesthetic campus than a lot of DU colleges. There is a big field for sports activities, basketball courts, an audiovisual room, and mostly clean washrooms. However, the college lacks a hostel for the outstation students.
Faculty: The English department faculty is one of the best in the college, and most of the professors are extremely helpful and experienced. The NEP has changed a lot of things for the students as well as staff, but everyone is learning to come to terms with the new policy.

Hi Boby, I am not so sure about the scores but you can check the cut-off list of previous years of JMC and get some idea about the percentile.
