KIET Ghaziabad BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Under UG courses, KIET Group of Institutions offers a four-year BTech to students across 10 specialisations. Spread over eight semesters of six months each, the programme is affiliated with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (Lucknow). Candidates who have appeared for and qualified for the JEE Main exam can register for UPTAC counselling for admission to AKGEC. Earlier called UPCET Counselling, it is now known as UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) Counselling. The registration and application can be done online. KIET, Ghaziabad BTech admissions are entrance-based. The admission on 85% of the total seats are for students who qualify the JEE Main entrance exam. For the remaining 15% seats, candidates are given option of getting admission via Management quota seats (direct admission) for its BTech programme. These management quota seats are filled at the institute level based on the merit scores obtained by students in Class 12 with PCM followed by a written test and personal interview. Additionally, the final seats are allocated through UPTAC Counselling process.

- Merit Scholarships: The toppers of the class across both semesters (without carryover/ clear pass on first attempt) are awarded for the upcoming year. INR 12,000 is offered to the first-position student and INR 6.000 is offered to the one in the second position.
- Scheme to encourage students to excel in university exams: Students of BTech and BPharm from first till third year with 85% aggregate are awarded INR 500 and for each per cent aggregate above 85% are given INR 200/- extra in addition to INR 500. Similarly, students of MCA and MBA first year with 85% aggregate are awarded INR 500 and are given INR 200 with an additional 5 per cent.

The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to the BTech course at SRMCEM Lucknow and KIET Ghaziabad is almost similar, in which candidates are required to complete their Class 12 from the Science stream. Moreover, both institutions also accept JEE Mains for admission to the BTech course.
