The NTA released the NEET 2026 application form on February 8, 2026. The last date to fill the NEET application form 2026 is March 8, 2026. Candidates need to take the NEET registration 2026 and then fill out the form. Before applying online, candidates need to make sure that they have all the documents required for NEET 2026 application form. This year, the NTA has introduced the live photo capture facility on the NEET form 2026. Candidates need to take live photo capture facility and upload the required documents on the form.

It is essential that candidates should keep the NEET 2026 registration documents required ready in digital (soft copy) as well as in printed form (hard copy) when applying online for the NEET exam. The digital copy has to be uploaded on the registration portal and physical copy is required to enter the details such as educational qualification and marks. Prior to listing down the NEET documents required, you need to know the broad process to apply for the NEET 2026. The first step is to register, which will generate the credentials such as the application number and password. List of Documents Required for NEET 2026 Application Form

To fill the NEET application form 2026, documents required are listed below. This list of NEET documents required 2026 is also published on the notification.

  • Passport size photographneet documents required 2025

NEET Live Photo Capture 2026

Candidates need to upload the live photograph on the NEET 2026 application form. Have a look at the guidelines related to NEET live photo upload below-

  • Switch on the camera or connect the webcam to the device used for filling the NEET form.
  • In case if the device does not support the webcam, then scan the QR code on the right side of the form.
  • The background should be light-coloured.
  • Live photograph will be matched with the Aadhaar database.

Q:   What is the NEET registration date?
A:

The NEET 2026 registration process started on February 8, 2026. The last date to complete the registration process is March 8, 2026. Registration is the first step of application wherein candidates have to enter the basic details, validate the OTP and create password. In the NEET application process, candidates have to login with their credentials and then fill up the form, upload documents and pay the application fee of NEET 2026.  

Q:   When is the NEET application form released?
A:

In general, the NEET application form is released two to three months prior to the exam date. Hence, if the exam is scheduled for the first week of May, the application form is released in February. The last date to submit the application form is generally a month after the release of the registration link. Last year, the NEET 2025 exam was held on May 4, 2024, and the application process started on February 7, 2025. In 2024, the NEET exam was held on May 5, 2024, and the application process began on February 9, 2024.

Q:   How to enroll for NEET 2026?
A:

Students can enroll for the NEET UG 2026 exam by filling out the application form. The NTA NEET form has been released along with the notification. Eligible students need to register for the exam and submit their applications. The NEET application fee needs to paid online with the form.

How to Upload Photograph on NEET UG 2026 Application Form?

Apart from complying with the document file format and size, candidates should also follow the guidelines shared by NTA in terms of uploading the photograph, signature and left and right-hand fingers and thumb impressions. The guidelines regarding how to upload document required for NEET registration 2026-

  • The photograph should not be less than three months old.

  • The photograph should be either in colour or black and white, with 80 per cent face (without mask) visible, including ears against a white background.

  • The size of the scanned passport photograph should be between 10 KB to 200 KB (clearly legible).

  • The size of the scanned Postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 KB - 200 KB (clearly legible).

  • The file format should be JPG or JPEG.

NTA Guidelines on Uploading of Signature

One of the documents required for NEET application form is scanned signature image. The guidelines for uploading signatures on the NEET 2026 application form are as follows:

  • The scanned signature should be between 10 KB to 100 KB.

  • The file format should be JPG/ JPEG only.

  • The signature should be made on black ballpoint pen on white paper. 

  • The signature should be made in running letters and not in full capital letters.

  • In case someone else’s signature has been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

Guidelines for Uploading Thumb Impression on NEET Online Form

The guidelines for uploading the left-hand thumb impression are as follows:

  • The candidate should put Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided.

  • The thumb impressions should be clearly legible.

  • The file size has to be between 10 KB to 200 KB.

  • Unclear Left and Right-hand fingers and thumb Impressions in Online Application Forms will also be rejected.

 

Documents for Proof of Citizenship for NEET 2026 Application Form

For candidates whose nationality is Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Foreign citizen, the NEET registration 2026 documents required are shared below-

  • Scanned copy of the first and last page of the Passport wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, as well as the date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority of the Passport, are clearly mentioned.

    Or

  • Citizenship Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate, wherein the Citizenship/Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue, and Issuing Authority are clearly mentioned.

    Or

  • Any other Document issued by a Government Authority in the Country of Nationality of the Candidate (including OCI Card issued by the MHA or concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in case of OCT Candidate only), wherein the Citizenship /Nationality of the Candidate, date of issue, Validity Period, place of issue and Issuing Authority of the Document, are clearly mentioned.

Category Certificates for NEET UG 2026 Registration

Candidates belonging to the reserved category or a particular category will have to upload the requisite category certificate. The list of applicable certificates as per the NEET documents required guidelines is given below:

  • PwBD certificate or the Unique Disability Identity (UDID) Card/Swavlamban Card stating the percentage of disability of the candidate.

In case candidates lack the requisite certificate issued on or after the date mentioned above, they will have to download and fill the Declaration by Candidates in lieu of the category certificate from the NEET 2026 information brochure.

How to Apply Online for NEET 2026?

After knowing the NEET 2026 documents required list, take a look at the process to fill the NEET 2026 application form below-

  • Visit the NEET 2026 website, www.neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the 'New Candidate Register Here' tab
  • Read all the instructions and fill in the mandatory details such as personal and contact details, selection of password, security question and enter the security pin.
  • Once the registration process is complete, NTA will send the NEET 2026 application number and password to the registered mobile number and email.
  • The application form of NEET 2026 is divided into four stages: Personal Details, Identification Details, Exam Centre Details, Qualification Details, Additional and Emergency Contact Details, Document Upload and Fee Payment.
  • The application fee has to be paid in online mode only through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI methods.
