Overall, it was the best college for the M.A. in Financial Economics course.
Placements: About 83% of students from our course got placement. The highest salary in our study was 22 LPA, the average package was 15 LPA, and the minimum package was 4 LPA. Top recruiting firms, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and more, visited our campus for placements. About 70% of students from our course received internship opportunities. Roles such as Economists and Market Research Analysts were offered to the students.
Infrastructure: We had everything like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and departmental libraries. Facilities in our hostels, as well as the food in the mess and restaurants, hospital, sports, and games, were excellent. Facilities were provided not only to Tamil Nadu students but also to students from other states and countries.
Faculty: Professors of the college were highly skilled in their fields. They shared their knowledge and passion for the projects. Students were explore the subjects through practical lessons and field assignments. If students had adequate study skills and notes from faculty members, examinations were easier. The passing rate was 80%.

Placements are good it but can be better.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed. The highest package being 21 LPA and the lowest is 9 LPA. The average package is around 14.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are - Barclays, Bank of America, Standard Chartered, Accenture AI, Wells Fargo, and Citi Analytics. Around 25% of students got placed in Citi Analytics and Wells Fargo.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good with neat and clean hostel and a good peer community culture. Library is good and Wi-Fi is okay. Mess is okay with both North Indian and South Indian food. Sports tournaments is conducted once every year which includes football and cricket.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, helpful, and knowledgeable. Course curriculum is very relevant and rigorous and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are rigorous and with a very analytical set of question papers, which is a bit exhausting but helpful in the long term for us.
Other: Financial economics makes you industry-ready in terms of financial analyst jobs with a good amount of data analysis exposure. More focus on core economics would be beneficial. Campus is friendly with an okayish amount of fests.

I am satisfied with the faculty, the infrastructure is good, and the placements are awesome.
Placements: Madras School of Economics has a record of 100% placements for the last 4 years. The average package offered was 9 Lacs per annum. The highest package went up to 15 Lacs, and the least was 6.5 Lacs per annum, last year. 90% of the companies are from South India. Companies like Deloitte, Accenture and PayPal visited the college to offer internships also.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. The college provides all the facilities. But, the only problem a student faces is the poor quality food. Specifically, the students from North India will not like the food. There is a playground for cricket and football, and also a volleyball ground is available.
Faculty: The faculty are very good and cooperative. All the teachers are well educated and knowledgeable. The students get good support from teachers every time. The teachers also focus on current issues. The student-faculty ratio is 45:1.

Totally satisfied with the college.
Placements: This college is known for placements in MA Economics. Since all the courses here are quantitative in nature, it attracts corporate field a lot. For my seniors, 85% were placed this year. It is the lowest in a few years because earlier its placements were more than 90%. Average package this year was 7.5 lakh p.a., lowest was 5.5lakh p.a. and the highest package went to 14 lakh p.a.
Infrastructure: College campus has a good building, big library and lab. Also, there are smart classes available in each class with projector and PCs in each class. Classes are of enough size and well ventilated. Wi-Fi is also there. Also, the college provides its own email ID and communicates through them. The canteen is of a smaller size but you can avail good quality pasta and juices. Hostel rooms are well ventilated as well and all the students are well attached to each other. There is a backup generator of high power which becomes very useful when unusual things happen. Like last year, a cyclone came. That time, it was helpful because all of Chennai had no power and no network.
Faculty: The course curriculum is quantitative in nature in all the courses. Faculty members are very helpful and knowledgeable. They take care of each student. The ratio is 35:1. The course curriculum helped me a lot in understanding the economic situation of India and also in the corporate internships which I recently completed.
Other: The college is located in a good location, so Adyar beach is very close where people go and hang out. Fees have increased in the last few years but still, it is providing quality education and better infrastructure. Inside the college, the campus life is extraordinary. People come together to celebrate every festival and also, social help like blood donation camp was also established this year. Our officiating director Sunder Ramaswamy is a very big personality and always follows international college services and keeps students motivated. Our college is no less than international colleges. Our chairman is the former RBI governor of India and he also keeps the students motivated about understanding economics and academics.
