B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2029

Good fests and events, decent placements, and bad sports facilities.
Placements: In the 2024 ECE batch, about 70%-75% of students were placed via on and off-campus opportunities. The highest package last year was 50 LPA by Microsoft, and the average package was around 6 LPA-8 LPA. Also, I heard that there were more than 150 internship offers last year, which included big names like Google, Microsoft, and Samsung. Overall, MSIT ECE has great opportunities for placements, you just have to focus on coding and electronics skills.
Infrastructure: MSIT has many specialized labs. ECE labs include AI/ML, hardware projects lab, VLSI, satellite, and mobile communication lab. Classrooms are decent, some have AC, and ventilation is good. The college has a central library with AC installed and Wi-Fi for students, and has a large collection of books. Hostel infrastructure is below average, and the food quality in the mess is low. Sports facilities are very bad, no equipment is provided for any sports, and playing sports on the ground is not appreciated. Though there is a sports room for table tennis, carrom, and chess.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good and supportive. Professors are qualified, many with a PhD. The course includes electronics with software and hardware. The course is a bit outdated and can be improved. Exams conducted by IPU are of a moderate level. Students attending classes regularly and focusing on important topics can pass easily. Also, tests are taken by professors regularly after a unit is completed.
Other: I chose the ECE branch because I wanted the ability to study both electronics and software, and MSIT gave me exposure to both. There are many teach and core electronics societies that students can join to grow. The course is outdated and there are fewer real-life applications that can be improved. The playground and sports facilities can be improved. There are regular events and fests happening, the college crowd is excellent, and most of the students are motivated. The campus surroundings are green and quiet. Students can reach college through the metro (the nearest metro station is Janakpuri East) and have great DTC bus connectivity.

If one wants to enjoy college life, it's not for them.
Placements: Placements are not very good. Some of the tech companies visit here as the competition is very high. Top recruiters are ION, Veersa Technologies, ZS Associate, and others. One has to work hard to get placed as some companies visit. You have to search for internships on your own as less opportunities for internships here.
Infrastructure: Facilities are okay. Classrooms are spacious, and labs are also well-equipped. But there are very less sports opportunities as only one ground is available. Only you can play games. Canteen is rebuilt and is okay now. Hostel rooms are decent, and the quality of life is also okay.
Faculty: In one semester, 2 mid-semester exams are conducted, and one internal and 1 external lab practical are held. After all this, there is one end semester exam. Clearing these exams is not very tough if one studies less also, he/she can easily clear these exams.

The college is pretty decent. Infrastructure is not too good, teachers are good, seniors are great.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent here, and in the ECE department, approximately 80% of students are placed. The highest package is 50 LPA on campus. The average is around 5-6 LPA in the ECE department. Top recruiting companies include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and others. Most of the internships are secured by 3rd-year students in various companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of MSIT is not very good, as it is an old building, with AC only in labs and 6th-floor classrooms. The rest of the classrooms are spacious, and the library is great. Wi-Fi is poor both in the college and the hostel. The hostel is decent with a good environment, but lacks AC or coolers. Mess food is neither too good nor too bad. The canteen was recently rebuilt and is pretty good so far. There are good sports facilities and active sports societies.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful in terms of solving doubts and clearing concepts. They also help with attendance issues and internals. Teachers are well qualified in their respective fields. The course curriculum is quite relevant as it includes real-life examples. Semester exams are not tough and are easy to pass. Teachers give good marks in internals if you have good attendance. The pass percentage is around 90-95%.
Other: Seniors are helpful in all areas, whether it's academics, personal problems or societies.

If you get a chance, choose a good college for admission.
Placements: In this college, I’ve heard that placements are neither good nor bad. Companies do come and conduct interviews. If you’re capable, you might get hired. However, the chances of getting a job are too low, so even if you give your best, there’s no guarantee of placement. My elder brother graduated from here but didn’t get placed.
Infrastructure: The college facilities and infrastructure are just okay. Not all classrooms and auditoriums have AC. Where AC is available, but doesn’t work properly. The library is not well-maintained, and students are often seen chit-chatting inside. In the hostel, the Wi-Fi is very weak in my room, but it works better in rooms near the extenders. The mess food is decent. As for sports, not all games are available. Only table tennis is provided.
Faculty: All teachers are very good and helpful. But some focus a lot on attendance. Teachers are qualified. The course curriculum is relevant. I don't know about students’ industry, but I think it would be good. Exams are coming soon. I don't know about exams too much, but it'll be moderate.
Other: I didn’t choose the course myself; I got it based on my JEE score. Things I wish were better include the sports facilities and extracurricular activities. They didn’t even let us use the park. The events are mostly for MSI, not for MSIT. For example, the Abhivadan event was only held for MSI. The official freshers’ event was the worst experience of my life. They took money from us but didn’t allow us entry and didn’t provide any refunds. It even led to fights and chaos.

In short, the college is good and decent for the placements.
Placements: CSE and IT departments' placements were good in 2024, and the average package is around 8 LPA to 9 LPA, but ECE and EEE branches' placements were average, barely crossed 6 LPA and 7 LPA, and above 12 LPA in this branch were exceptions. Approximately 60% of students got internships in service-based and product-based companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, ZS, and many more companies with lower packages.
Infrastructure: College provides us with a lab that is fully air-conditioned, and all the computers in the lab have an internet connection. The library of MSIT College is also very good. They provide 10 to 12 laptops for work and provide a special seating area for studies. They provide lots of magazines and journals.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified, and some teachers are very frank with students. All the teachers provide semester papers and notes to the students. The semester exams are intermediate level, not very hard, not very easy the teaching style of most of the teachers is good.
Other: I choose B. Tech because I love creating new things, and the best thing about my course is the practical knowledge. The fests are not as good as those at other universities around Delhi, for example, DTU and NSUT. They conduct decent fests.

MSIT is a good college in terms of private colleges.
Placements: In the 2025 batch, around 382 students are placed. 382 students got 428 offers. Around 70 students got a more than 9 LPA package. Major recruiters are Infosys, ION, ZS, etc. The highest package is 36 LPA for ECE. ION gave 17.3 LPA to 20 students. ZS gave 13.65 LPA to 32 students.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi doesn’t work properly. Labs are very well-equipped, in good condition, and are AC-equipped. Classrooms have only fans. Hostel rooms from the 2nd year onwards are allotted on the basis of college attendance and CGPA. The canteen is available, but a variety of food is not available.
Faculty: Teachers are very well qualified and supportive. There is a 75% attendance criterion, but you will be allowed to give the exam at 60% attendance. The course is not so hard. It is easy to score a 7.5+ GPA. Marks are 40 internal and 60 external. Book Bank issues books for the complete semester, so there is no need to reissue books. The institute provides industrial visits to students, but only for students whose attendance is above 75%.
Other: College is good for academics and placement. Class timings are bad: 8 AM to 2:30 PM. Prefer to choose shift 2, which starts at 10 AM, if you travel quite a distance. No scholarship from the institute, but available at the university level. Good connectivity by bus and metro.

Moreover, both institutes accept valid scores from JEE Mains/IPU CET for admission to BTech courses.
