Commonly asked questions
On JEE Main Cutoffs
Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?
A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

MSIT- The college for your future!
Placements: The college placement rate has always been good. The highest package went to 1.7Cr and the lowest package was 3.5 LPA. The average package was around 9-10 LPA. The companies come with a variety of roles including both technical and non-technical roles. The major companies are ZS Associates, ION, Google, and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: There is a Wi-Fi connectivity all over the campus. The classrooms have AC and have a good infrastructure. There are several indoor games available to play and there is a huge ground to play sports like football and cricket. The canteen serves almost every item. The mess food is genuinely better.
Faculty: Teachers genuinely help the students in the exams. They are highly qualified. They have different teaching methods which helps us to understand better. The syllabus after the new education policy has helped secure good internships and offers for the new batch of students. The semester exams are a little difficult but can be cracked with 1 week of preparation.

Solid college if you have consistent good placements, decent crowd, and helpful seniors.
Placements: I am from the IT branch, batch 2023-27. Placement is honestly good if you are into coding or have built some projects. Around 80% of our batch got placed last year. Average packages are around 6 LPA to 7 LPA, though some folks managed more than 12 LPA too. Companies like Amazon (off-campus), TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and Nagarro visit often. Internships happen mostly via LinkedIn or personal effort. College support is okay but not amazing.
Infrastructure: College has good labs and smart classrooms. There's campus Wi-Fi but it's not always reliable. Library is good. Our campus is peaceful and has the books you need. Hostel for girls, and limited rooms for boys. Hostel is fine for basic living. Mess food is meh, but the canteen serves decent stuff, chole bhature and noodles are the go-to.
Faculty: Faculty members are a mixed bag. Some pros genuinely try to help, others just read off slides. Course structure is okay. Exams are manageable if you don't leave everything for the last week. PYQs and notes help a lot. Course curriculum is outdated, but teachers often guide us to be industry-ready by teaching us about new emerging fields.
Other: For a private college under IPU, I would say yes, not cheap, but the return on investment makes sense if you put in the work. Students are mostly from Delhi/NCR. Crowd is chill, lots of techies. Avensis (our fest) is fun if you are into cultural events. There are plenty of societies, coding, drama, dance, robotics, etc. Metro connectivity is a huge plus.

Less fees and decent placement.
Placements: Around 90 percent of the students were placed in 2020-2024 batch. Placements were decent in time of global recession. Highest package was around 52 LPA and lowest was 3.5 LPA. Average would be around 5-7 LPA. Top recruiting companies were TCS and HCL. Mostly CSE and ECE branches were preferred for software developer role. Many students got internships also but data is not disclosed.
Infrastructure: For my course which is ECE labs are decent but equipments in some of the labs are not in working conditions. WiFi connectivity is also slow and classrooms are just basic, not so good. Hostels are below average. But mess food is quite good. And library is also quite decent. Medical facilities are not known.
Faculty: Teachers are very well qualified and knowledgeable. But lab assistants are not so good. Teachers also help before exam providing suitable theory and learning material for exams. They also provide a pdf of some books helping in theory section. Difficulty level of exams are quite good. It will check all your theory and practical skills.
Other: Fees that you pay for this college will be very low and knowledge you get is good. So it is a quite value for money. Placements are decent you have to prove yourself in the placement. Crowd is also decent since it is located in Delhi. Events are below average. It is near metro station around 1km so connectivity is also good. But there are no extracurricular activities. Campus surrounding is also good. A big park is also there and there is a police station also near the campus. But campus area is small around 8 acres.

I'm dissatisfied with faculty, administration, and infrastructure.
Placements: In 2025, B.Tech IT branch of engineering a total of 85%-90% of students got placed with an average package of 6 LPA. The highest package is 65 LPA and the lowest is 5 LPA. Top recruiters who recruited the students are Amazon, Deloitte, SAP labs, TCS, Wipro, and Physics Wallah.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is in the girls' and boys' common rooms, libraries, and hostels but the connections are weak. The infrastructure is not good, the canteen is a tin shed, not everyone is allowed in the mess and the food poor quality. No medical facilities are available. Poor games facility. Poor administration as a lot of paper work is done with lengthy time-consuming formalities which could have been done online through the website as it is a technology institute, no ACs in hostels they do extortion of money saying if you want to keep your cooler in the room then pay Rs. 1250 per month extra.
Faculty: Teaching is done by rote learning. Old redundant useless curriculum is taught in the first year. Some teachers seem qualified and some teachers are too old to teach. Semester exams are not that difficult and doable if study the day before exams.
Other: I chose it just for the B.Tech degree at comparatively less price. It would be better if the revise the whole curriculum into what is required in current times and make it more practical.

Campus life is not good but placements are okay.
Placements: At Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, 70-90% of B.Tech students get placed each year. The highest package has gone up to 80 LPA, with an average of 6 LPA - 8 LPA. Top recruiters include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Deloitte, and Amazon. Around 80% of students also get internships at companies like Paytm, SAP Labs, and Physics Wallah. Common roles offered are software developer, full stack developer, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not so good. College has 8 acres of land with also MSIT campus in it. As we say of hostel, mess is excellent but facilities provided by hostels are none. Infrastructure of hostel is also okay and not a tall building. Building has not been painted in years.
Faculty: Faculty members over here are excellent and always complete their courses on time. The curriculum is not so tough and student-friendly. Exams are conducted at regular basis. Teachers check the copies properly and internal marks are given on that basis.

Absolutely dissatisfied with college infrastructure, facilities, placements, poor college life.
Placements: The placement rate has been going down year after year, and the average package has fallen in recent years. Most of the high-paying placements are off-campus placements. No company comes to the college for internships.
Infrastructure: Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology has one of the poorest infrastructures in the GGSIPU. There is no Wi-Fi on campus, and some classrooms don't even have fans, let alone air conditioning. There are no sports facilities, and the one canteen is in drastic condition with poor food quality.
Faculty: The faculty at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology is highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful, with a few exceptions. The teachers are good in general, and their teaching quality is commendable. However, the course curriculum is not up to the mark. It is highly theoretical and impractical, and does not prepare students for the industry.
Other: I ended up at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology because my JEE rank was too low to get into a better college. If you have a decent rank, there's no point in attending this college.
