Yes, you can join Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology directly. There is no such entrance exam specially for getting admission in Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology. The candidate have to pass his 12th with at least 60% in aggregate, and have to go through JEE ( Joint Entrance Examination) for B.Tech. Earlier there was a particular entrance exam called UPTU but now they give admission on the basis of JEE Mains only. Once you clear the cut off then you have to fill counselling form for colleges and according to your score or rank, you will get the college.

Nearly, every student who applied was accepted into the programme. The highest compensation package available was 10 LPA. The base compensation package was 2.4 LPA. The average compensation package was 6.5 LPA. However, according to the NIRF 2022 report, MIET placements in 2021 involved a total of 607 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. NTA has announced the JEE Main 2026 exam date for session 2. JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam will be held from April 2, 2026, to April 9, 2026. JEE Main 2026 session 2 registration will start in the last week of January 2026. The JEE Main Application Form 2026 session 2 will be available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE 2026 session 1 exam will be conducted from Jan 21, 2026, to Jan 30, 2026.

Candidates should have passed Class 12 from UP board/ CBSE or any other equivalent board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and a minimum of 45% aggregate in Class 12 (40% for SC/ ST candidates) is eligible for the Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology BTech programme. Candidates must also have a valid score in the JEE Main exams or in CUET exam.

The eligibility criteria for BTech direct admission on seats remaining vacant in the first year after entrance examination counselling shall be such as may be notified from time to time. The general admission process for the MIET Meerut BTech course is through the entrance exam. The university accepts national or state-level entrance exams like JEE Main or CUET. 

The selection will be followed by counselling. The counselling process of shortlisted candidates will be managed and regulated by Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling is an admission process held annually by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). Based on which the candidates will be allotted seats. The seat allotment is based on the affiliated college cutoff and the candidate's preference for courses and colleges.
