STEP 1: NID Gandhinagar MDes Application Process 2025
The NID Gandhinagar application process is an online process. To fill out the online application form, candidates need to follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1.1: Register or sign up on the official admission website of NID (http://admissions.nid.edu). For this, you need to enter a valid email address and mobile number.
Step 1.2: Login to the account with the mobile number and email ID through which you have registered.
Step 1.3: Fill in personal and educational details correctly and click on ‘save and proceed’ to go to the next section.
Step 1.4: Upload the asked documents— a recent passport-size coloured photograph between 60 and 100 KB size; scanned signature not exceeding 100 KB; caste certificate issued by a competent authority not exceeding 150 KB. All these documents must be in jpg/jpeg format.
Step 1.5: After uploading all documents, click on ‘save and proceed’ to pay the application fee online (debit/credit card) or offline (demand draft). You may also click on ‘save and exit’ to complete the form at a later date or time.

STEP 2: Entrance Exam
Candidates who submitted applications successfully are required to appear for the NIT DAT MDes exam. This national-level exam is conducted in 22 cities across India. On the exam day, candidates shall ensure that they carry their NID DAT admit card.
STEP 3: Declaration of Result
After the exam, a cutoff list is released by the institute. This list mentions the minimum qualifying score required for admission to an MDes programme.
STEP 4: Release of Provisional Offer Letter
The institute then releases provisional offer letters for the candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks.
STEP 5: Final Seat Allotment & Fee Payment
Candidates with a provisional offer further need to take part in the subsequent allotment rounds carried out by the institute. After the final seat allotment, candidates have to pay the full fees. - Pay the exam fee to complete the application process. The NID DAT 2026 fee is expected to be around Rs. 3000 for open, and Rs. 1500 for reserved-category candidates. A late fee of 50% more than can be charged by NID for registration if the application forms are not filled out after the deadline.

The sample papers for NID DAT can be download in pdf format. The intent of these sample papers is to help the candidate get insights into the pattern and structure of the exam. By solving the sample papers, the candidate will get insights into the difficulty level of the exam, the types of questions asked, topics from which questions are asked, etc. Additionally, if the candidate solves enough sample papers, it will help him or her to develop problem solving and time management skills. So, all candidates must practice the NID DAT sample paper to gain confidence and get rid of exam fear.
NID application form 2024 is now closed; the online application opened on September 8, 2023. The application form was open online at admissions.nid.edu. The NID application form is for admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses offered by participating colleges. The candidate had the option to fill out the application form with both regular and late fees. Without late fees, the application form was accepted up to December 5, 2023. Meanwhile, with late fees, the application form was open up to December 7, 2023.
NID Gandhinagar MDes course admission is a multi-step process. STEP 1: In the first step, candidates need to complete the NID exam application form. The applications are accepted by the institute in online mode.
