 The tuition fees for an MDes programme at NID Gandhinagar is approximately INR 17,500 per semester.

The candidate needs to report for the exam at 8 am. Gates closing time is 9.30 am. 

The B.Des exam will be held from 10 am - 1 pm; meanwhile, the M.Des exam will be held from 10 am - 12.30 am.

The DAT Prelims for the B.Des programme will be conducted in a paper-and-pencil/pen mode. The question paper may  incude both textual and visual questions. Other details like duration of the exam, marking scheme, etc. will be published in the DAT Prelims admit card.

The DAT Prelims exam for the M.Des programme will be conducted offline and include a mix of objective and subjective questions. The paper will have a total of 100 questions.

No, NID Entrance Exam cutoff is released separately for the various categories. For instance, the cut-off is available for categories like Open, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PH categories. Note that open category candidates will not be considered for admission under reserved category seats. However, candidates belonging to reserved category will be considered for admission under both open and the reserved category they belong to. To be considered for admission under reserved category, the candidate must furnish the required category certificates. However, any candidate who is found using counterfeit documents can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.

NID Gandhinagar offers full-time residential two year MDes courses at the PG level. MDes is offered to students across seven disciplines. Admission to the course is entrance-based. Aspirants shall check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the course. Besides, the institute also offers three-year full-time PhD courses at the doctoral level. 

The application forms for NID is usually released in September every year. The application forms are available online at the NID admission portal. A candidate seeking admission to a NID Gandhinagar MDes course must fulfil the criteria mentioned below:

• Bachelor's degree of at least four years duration in any stream from a recognised university. 
• Pass in graduation and only candidates born on or after 1 July 1991 are eligible to apply for admission to the General Category and EWS Category. Only Indians born after 1 July 1988 may apply for admission if they belong to the Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBCNCL), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST).

Candidates need to complete a MDes degree from an accredited institution or recognised university of India to apply for NID Gandhinagar PhD course. Aspirants who have passed MPhil Design from a recognised institution or university of India are also eligible to apply for PhD programme. 

Candidates with Master of Architecture/ Fine Art/ Applied Art or BDes from NID with three-year professional or teaching experience can also apply.

The college life in NID Gandhinagar is very good because of its good infrastructure, it's maintenance, it's resdintial/hostel facilities and its overall hygiene and the medical staff in the emergency situations. National Institute of Design (NID) Gandhinagar was established in 2004. It offers programme in various specializations. The mode of application is online only and for admission process applicants must appear Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and mains. 

In NID Placements 2022, there was a participation of 124 recruiters. Students received about 400 job offers. Microsoft offered jobs to 30 students during the placement drive.

NID Gandhinagar MDes course admission is a multi-step process. The admission procedure begins with the exam online registration and ends with the final seat allotment and fee payment along with physical document verification. The admission stages are also explained below for the candidates reference:

STEP 1: In the first step, candidates need to complete the NID exam application form. The applications are accepted by the institute in online mode.

STEP 2: Candidates who applied successfully need to appear for the NID DAT entrance test. The national-level examination is conducted across 22 cities in India.

STEP 3: The results are declared after the exam is conducted successfully. NID may list cutoff list as well with the minimum score required for MDes admission. 

STEP 4: Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff are allotted provisional offer letters. These candidates can then take part in counselling/seat allotment procedure.

STEP 5: In the last step of the admission procedure, subsequent allotment rounds are carried out by the institute. After the seats are allotted, candidates are asked to pay the full course fees. Then the selected candidates will have to report at the respective NID campus for the physical verification of documents.

NID Gandhinagar admissions usually begins in September every year. NID DAT 2025 applications are open for admission to MDes courses, closes by December every year. Moreover, the NID DAT 2025 (Prelims) exam is held in January. Candidates applying for MDes have to appear for NID DAT. The admissions for PhD courses usually begin in September every year.

NID Gandhinagar admissions are based on entrance exam scores. The institute conducts NID DAT-Prelims and Mains for admission to the MDes programme.
