NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if you plan to apply in many universities then UCEED is a better option as you'll have many university choices and you can get admission on the basis of UCEED score.

Candidates must visit the official website of NIFT to register themselves for MDes course. NIFT Delhi MDes admission is based on an entrance test comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and a General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates on the basis of CAT/ GAT test scores are then required to appear for a Personal Interview round, conducted by NIFT. 

Yes, the National Institute of Fashion Technology will allow candidates with late fees. The late fee application window will open once the deadline to fill out the NIFT 2024 application form with regular fee closes. The start and last date to fill out the NIFT 2024 application form with late fee will be notified by the institute before the regular application form closes or sometime thereabout. The late fee for NIFT 2024 will be INR 5,000. The late fee has to be paid in addition to the application fee, which is INR 3000 for open category candidates.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology offers B.Des and B.FTech courses at the undergraduate level. NIFT Delhi offers M.Des, MFM and M.FTech courses at the postgraduate level. Apart from the UG and PG courses, NIFT Delhi also offers a list of UG Diploma and Continuing Education (CE) short-term programmes with a course duration ranging between three months and one year depending on the course. 

The information provided by the candidate when filling out the NIFT 2026 application form are verified by NIFT officials before any candidate is considered for admission in the first week of June.

Note that at the time of counseling registration, the candidate is required to upload documents.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi MFM fee is INR 5.86 lakh. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. Apart from the tuition fee, candidates also need to pay a one-time fee of INR 21,300 which includes a refundable security deposit and registration fee. For NIFT Delhi B.Des admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/ State Board New Delhi/ Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects is also eligible to apply for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi. 

Yes, candidates are required to appear for a written examination, which includes a Creative Ability Test CAT and a General Ability Test GAT for admission to the NIFT Delhi B. Des programme. Students who clear both tests are required to appear for the SAT for the final selection. The candidate should not exceed 24 (29 for SC/ST/PWD category students) years of age as of August 1 of the year of admission.

The total seat intake for NIFT Delhi M.Des course is 43, including all the categories such as Open, SC, ST, OBC (NCL), GEN- EWS, PwD (Open, SC, ST and OBC (NCL). The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi admits students to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses based on their NIFT entrance exam scores. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) releases the official schedule at - niftadmissions. The schedule includes the event-wise dates related to the NIFT 2025 entrance exam. This includes the release of the NIFT 2025 application form, the application last date (with regular and late fees), written exam date, declaration of results, etc. Alternatively, the candidate can follow this page to stay updated about NIFT 2025 exam.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducted the NIFT 2024 exam in two phases. The 1st phase included the written exams GAT and CAT.

The written exams was held on February 5, 2024. The scores of the written exam was used to shortlist c candidates for the 2nd phase, which will include a Situation Test (B. Des programme) or Personal Interview (PG courses).

The Situation Test was held on April 13, 2024, while the Personal Interview was conducted from April 1-6, 2024.

The NIFT CAT exam will be administered in an offline mode and will be a drawing-based exam. During the course of the exam, the candidate is not allowed to write any personal details and place identification marks. The CAT exam will evaluate the candidate on parameters like intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability. To prepare for the CAT the candidate needs to work on geometrical shapes, product drawing, line quality, shading, human figures, principles of composition, etc. To improve ones figure drawing skills, one may stick drawing, before moving on to block drawing, and then evolving to add clothes and other items.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests. So, the candidate can take mock tests conducted by coaching institutes or by online outlets to practice for the exam. Typically, the more mock tests a candidate takes, better it is from an exam point of view. That being said, mock tests are usually taken closer to the exam to give finishing touches to ones preparation. For instance, by taking mock tests, the candidate will learn to hone ones time management skills, along with improving problem-solving skills. Note that the candidate must solve sample papers and previous years NIFT question papers, along with taking mock tests, to effectively prepare for the exam.
