NIFT Mumbai in a nutshell.
Placements: The placement in NIFT is not extraordinary in terms of package, but there are good companies that participate in the process. For internships and job placement, big retail giants like Reliance, ABFRL, Tata Trent, and Dmart come in. About 60% of students get help from the college for the same.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by NIFT are good. The hostel rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Food, on the other hand, is average. The classrooms and labs are well-equipped and add to the experience of doing everything hands-on and not just relying on presentations.
Faculty: Being in the textile design department gives you the best facilities. They're well-educated and all from different fields in textile. The curriculum is a mix of practical and theory in an appropriate ratio. The exams are tough but interesting to work on, and will give you an insight into professional presentation in front of actual industry experts.
Other: I personally chose textile design because it gives me a wider spectrum of fields to enter post-graduation. I'm more inclined towards the details on the surface than the forms. This course gives me the freedom to do just that, play around with fabric and different surfaces as well as different techniques to achieve that. I think the collaboration between different departments is something that can be improved, but the college is slowly moving towards it. The college life apart from that is very lively and eventful. There are amazing events, competitions, conferences, and opportunities that NIFT opens up to you.

Overall good experience, just not worth the fees we pay.
Placements: The in-house placements are not worth the fees we pay. A very small percentage of our seniors got good placements, or merely decent placements. Internships usually start after the 4th semester, but students are very active at NIFT; they find work outside the college themselves, which helps them in their portfolio.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent enough, the hostel facilities are good, but the food is okay-ish. The college has good Wi-Fi and water facilities. The classrooms are large enough, and the library is the best place in the entire campus; it is like a treasure for design students. The quality of food in the hostel mess fluctuates very frequently; else, it is fine.
Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful, and the curriculum is changed every year according to industry requirements. The faculty members help you anytime you reach out to them, and all of your concerns are brought to their notice. Teachers also consider your efforts rather than comparing them with others.

Great faculty, good education, but the infrastructure and sourcing can be challenging.
Placements: The on-campus placements haven’t been that good lately, so most people apply for off-campus opportunities. During placements, priorities are given to the higher campuses. For example, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore. Last time, they made a new rule where only 3/5 companies one can select to sit for the placement process, and in most of the cases, many companies backed out, and then students were left with a smaller number of companies to apply for.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure is good. I personally feel they should have more machines. During juries, there is a lot of chaos as both the juniors and seniors need them. The college is in Navi Mumbai. It becomes very difficult to source materials as we have to travel to Mumbai. I wish the college was in Mumbai itself. We would have had more exposure. As for the hostel, it’s decent, but the only downside is the hostel food, which is very bad.
Faculty: The main reason I think people are willing to come to NIFT is the quality of education and the teachers. The faculty members are really good, and they are always ready to help us. However, you have to make an extra effort to approach them with any problems, as usually, they do not check each student personally, but if you go to them, they are very helpful.
Other: I feel NIFT is the best place to study if you are into fashion and want to make a career in it. Even the industries know the quality of students NIFT makes, and that’s why priorities are given to NIFT students as compared to other students from other colleges. In India, definitely, NIFT is one of the best places to learn fashion.

Good placement but the campus is small.
Placements: The average package is around 5-6 LPA, but the recruiters include top fashion companies such as Aditya Birla, Fabindia, and Decathlon. Most roles offered are for positions like merchandiser or buyer. While many students secure jobs through the college placement process, some also apply externally. The NIFT tag significantly enhances employability.
Infrastructure: The campus area is limited due to its location in Mumbai, but overall, the facilities are impressive. The library boasts an extensive collection, and students have access to WGSN and Promostyl. Each room has separate Wi-Fi, although the speed could be improved. Labs are equipped to meet all requirements for garment construction.
Faculty: The faculty members are approachable and supportive. The curriculum emphasizes practical, hands-on learning. Exams are conducted in the form of jury presentations, typically involving projects that span the entire semester. Faculty members are always available to provide guidance and support.

Review of Bachelors in fashion technology from the NIFT Mumbai.
Placements: NIFT was offering good placements and internship opportunities to its students. In the last semester, around 30–40% of the students gets placements at this college. The average package offered at this college was between 4-6 LPA. The top recruiters were Perals group, Tata luxury, Puma India, etc. Students also gets internship with good stipend.
Infrastructure: The college had good infrastructure and facilities for our course. In our course department, all the necessary facilities were available for the students. Various modern facilities for drafting and designing were available at the college. Sports, Wi-Fi, library and all other facilities were available for the better learning of the students.
Faculty: The professors at our college were helpful, qualified and knowledgeable about our course. All the teachers were teaching us well. The course curriculum followed at the college was relevant and it made the students industry-ready. Semester exams at the college were of a moderately difficult level. Various workshops were organized at the college by the teachers.

Good campus life but don't keep any fancy expectations, you'll be disappointed. Be open to learning.
Placements: NIFT Mumbai Accessories Design: 90%+ placements, salaries 3.5-13 LPA. Top recruiters: Titan, Amazon, Myntra, Hidesign, Flipkart, Godrej. Roles: Product Designer, UI/UX, Merchandiser, Creative Consultant. Internships at Fastrack, Tata, startups. Covers jewelry, smart wearables, and digital design. Many alumni become entrepreneurs.
Infrastructure: Girls hostel is very good, food is not the best but better than most hostels, college infrastructure is also very good. In both places, whatever complaints are made, they're taking action upon immediately. The resource centre aka library is very good and filled with super expensive and rare books, make use of it.
Faculty: No exams are taken, only jury is done where we have to show all our works we've done throughout the course. Whatever we are taught helps in portfolio development. If you choose Mumbai campus, you really get to opt for so many opportunities outside campus, it's truly very fun.
Other: Facilities are top notch, at least in the top two campuses: Delhi and Mumbai.
