The admission process for NIMHANS Bangalore is entrance based. Candidates must appear for the INI-CET to participate in the admission process of the institute. NIMHANS Bangalore offers various UG, PG, and Diploma courses for candidates. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the course they wish to apply at must check the selection criterira in order to find out the exam they need to apply to. Candidates applying for Doctoral courses must appear for NEET SS.

The institute has obtained outstanding outcomes for the 4-year B.Sc. Nursing programme. Out of the 77 seats that were open in 2021, 72 students were placed, with the median pay at NIMHANS being INR 7,20,000. Regarding the one-year PG programme, NIMHANS placements 2023 have displayed exceptional successes. Out of 98 available seats in 2020, 33 students were placed, earning a median income of INR 15,60,000. With 78 seats available in 2019, 25 students were placed successfully, earning a median income of INR 6,00,000.
