National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra is one of best colleges in India.
Placements: NIT, it's one of the finest colleges in India. Around 80%-90% of students get placed in Masters, and for Bachelors, it's around 100%. The highest salary package offered for Bachelors can go up to more than 50 LPA and sometimes up to 1 Crore per annum. The average salary package offered was 20 LPA. For Masters, the highest salary package offered was 30 LPA and the average salary package offered was 16 LPA. Students won't regret getting into NIT.
Infrastructure: Hostels are awesome, especially H11, with all facilities starting from lift, Wi-Fi, heaters, common rooms, lawns, garden, outdoor games area, and a mess with air condiionera and beautiful surroundings. But trust me, food quality is not so good. Overall, it's 8/10. H11 is the best hostel.
Faculty: NIT and IIT faculty members are among the finest in all of India. In my case, most faculty members are postgraduates and have a PhD degree from NUS, Georgia Institute of Technology, or IIT, NIT nothing below that. Students can imagine the level of expertise. They are helpful. Academics are easy, but it is a little difficult to score. But, the grading system is very friendly, so there are no issues. Total of 40% is the pass mark here. There are four exams three internal, out of which two are taken, and one end-sem.
Other: NIT doesn't need any justification. It is a brand in itself, built in 1962, and holds a strong alumni base. It is one of the finest colleges with the finest minds in India. Fest at NIT KKR is one of the biggest cultural fests in North India. Campus life is awesome. With 350 acres of lush green campus and all facilities, it's a 10/10 for me.

I am satisfied because of the helping nature of the faculty and good placements in 2022.
Placements: More than 60% of students in our course were placed in various MNCs. The highest package was 21.00 LPA, the minimum was 6.4 LPA, and the average was 7.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies were L & T, Azure Power, ICF, etc. Top roles offered were assistant manager, PGET, and analyst in the companies. Two of the 25 students received internships from DST and CSIR, which are the agencies of the government of India.
Infrastructure: The department is accessible 24x7 day or night with permission. There is a high-speed LAN connection with 24x7 access to the library. The department provides user-friendly labs that are accessible easily. The hostel is no less than a 3-star hotel. Rooms are spacious and have an air conditioner. The mess provides good quality food. Other facilities such as sports and games are also good, with a sports complex, an indoor badminton hall, and an air-conditioned gymnasium.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful by nature and are ready to help at any time. All faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable, with a minimum of 8 years of experience. The learning environment is good. The course curriculum is on par with the course, but it does not make us industry-ready because of a slight lack of practical environment in the course. Semester exams are not so tough, but they require the application of the studies that a student will undergo.

Good college with decent placements. Our campus is large and beautiful.
Placements: Placements are good. Overall, placements in the department are average. Students can find jobs, training, or internships in different core and non-core companies. In the year 2022 placements, more than 70% of students got placed. The average package ranges between 6 LPA - 6.5 LPA. The highest salary is more than 10 LPA (according to college website).
Infrastructure: I personally like the infrastructure of NIT Kurukshetra. Labs are not so modified but still all equipment and machines are available. You can use it anytime with supervisors. Classrooms are good not so big but it's satisfactory. I genuinely like the hostel structure and it is well-maintained.
Faculty: There are shortage of faculty members in our department. Those who are available are experienced and they have good knowledge of their subjects. One of faculty members Parveen Aggarwal sir, I personally like their teaching style, he is a fantastic teacher. Different clubs are there and you can join them. Exams are moderate, not so hard. You can pass easily by studying for 2-3 weeks, if your concepts are strong and you understand them properly during classes.
Other: I like campus of NIT Kurukshetra. It's full green campus and it is a large campus. All ground facilities are available, and you can access them easily. Hospital facility is also available on campus. Guest house, eco park, eco track, OAT, swimming pool, and gym are also available in college. Fully satisfied with campus life and college campus. I am not so much integrated into extra curricular but there are many events on a weekly or monthly basis.

Our college has good infrastructure and campus.
Placements: Around 60% of students are placed in the civil branches. The highest salary package was 14 LPA and the average salary package is 8 LPA. Around 80% of students got internships in their pre-final year.
Infrastructure: There is a good strength of Wi-Fi inside the hostel. Wi-Fi is available in the library too. Classrooms have air-conditioners. Food is not up to the mark. Sports facilities are good. Medical facilities are not that good. Canteen is there.
Faculty: Faculty is better. College students are barely interested in studies. Semester examinations are not much tough if you are revising it daily but if you haven't studied anything then they are tough.

It is a great college to make your future better.
Placements: Almost 80% of the students from our course got placed. In our course, the highest salary package offered was 8 LPA, the lowest salary package offered was 7 LPA and the average salary package offered was 7.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies in our college are Toshiba and KPIT. Students were offered roles like an embedded engineer, functional safety engineer and system engineer. Almost 90% of the students got an internship in companies like KPIT, Toshiba, Xilinx.
Infrastructure: Good facilities are available in our college like VLSI design lab, embedded system design lab and 24 hours internet access. Quality of food is good at the canteen in almost all hostels. There is a hospital inside the campus and a huge ground for playing with coach facilities and international competition.
Faculty: All the teachers in our college are doctorate holders in their corresponding domains from very high reputed colleges like IIT, NIT and IISC. The level of knowledge is high with good quality of people in both technical and behaviour-wise. The campus follows some standard guidelines and standard in courses, and students are ready for industry from 2nd year onwards.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am interested in embedded systems, embedded C and controlling microcontroller. The college should conduct more extracurricular activities. Good scholarships are available in our college. Our campus also conducts fests.

Placements are very good for CS and IT and packages are also very high. But the scenario is not same for other branches. In M.Tech people mainly focus on psu's and ese exams.
Infrastructure: Hostel is very good but mess food is not up to the mark. Medical, sports facilities are good. Hostels and campuses including libraries have free Wi-Fi services and it can be accessed at any time. Hostel facilities are very good like lifts are provided remote controlled fans are there and lights have sensors which saves electricity. Department is good but some classes don't have AC so it becomes very hot and difficult to manage in summers.
Faculty: Except few rest of faculty members are good. But curriculum needs to be more industry based so that students become employable. M.Tech placements are very bad because of this. In PE curriculum some aged teachers don't teach at all and simply leave it to students to pass the exam. Some faculty members especially those who are young put lot of effort to make things easier for students. Not much attention is given to M.Tech students compared to B.Tech. Even there was no proper orientation for us and nothing was told about internships and placements.
Other: Power electronics is the future. Everywhere we need energy conversion techniques in simpler ways and low cost. Curriculum needs to be a bit more industry based and we should be thought the real applications of the theoretical concepts.

    NIT Kurukshetra MTech FAQs 2025

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for M.E./M.Tech courses at NIT Kurukshetra?
    A:
    {Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for M.E./M.Tech Courses at NIT Kurukshetra

Based on student reviews, the placement cell for M.E./M.Tech courses at NIT Kurukshetra is considered less efficient. Here's what students have said:

    * Placements for M.E./M.Tech courses are not as good as those for Bachelor's courses, except for Computer Engineering.
    * Currently, only around 5-10% of students receive placements in good companies.
    * Internship opportunities are available, and students have been placed in firms like Tata Power and Qualcomm, with stipends ranging from INR12,000 to INR30,000-40,000 per month.

It appears that while the placement cell exists, its effectiveness is limited, particularly for Master's programs. This could be due to various factors, including market demand, industry requirements, and the curriculum structure.
Q:   Is it worth pursuing M.E./M.Tech at NIT Kurukshetra?
    A:
    {Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

    Pros:

    * Faculty members are experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive
    * Good infrastructure, including modern labs and comfortable hostels
    * Opportunities for internships and research projects
    * Decent placement records for certain streams, particularly Computer Engineering
    * Extracurricular activities, including fests and events
    * Access to state-of-the-art facilities, such as Wi-Fi, gyms, and sports complexes

    Cons:

    * Placement record for M.E./M.Tech students is not impressive, with many students opting for PSUs and GATE-based jobs instead
    * Course curriculum could be improved to make students more industry-ready
    * Limited attention is given to M.Tech students compared to B.Tech students
    * Mess food quality is not great
    * Some faculty members may not be proactive in guiding students

    Verdict:
While NIT Kurukshetra offers many positives, its placement record for M.E./M.Tech students is a concern. Focus on developing your skills and network outside of academics to increase your chances of getting a good job after graduation.

You can get CSE in GFTI as per the JoSSA counselling cutoff last year. You cannot get any branch, like CSE, ECE in NIT at this rank.
