NIT Kurukshetra BTech course admission is completely based on candidates' acheived scores in JEE Mains, followed by a counselling process. The process of application for JEE Main 2026 is inclusive of three major steps, i.e registration, form filling & document upload, followed by payment of NIT Kurukshetra BTech. application fees 2026. - Fill the form with the mandatory details.

2- JoSAA/ CSAB/ DASA Counselling
After achieving the valid scores in the JEE Mains entrance examination, candidates are required to appear for a counselling process. For NITs BTech admissions, the institute accepts JoSAA/ CSAB/ DASA counselling. During the counselling process, candidates must choose NITKKR BTech in choice filling. Therefore, candidates must opt for NIT Kurukshetra and their preferred engineering branch.
3- Selection Criteria & Release of Cutoff List
NIT Kurukshetra release the cutoff or opening ranks for BTech courses. Further, candidates with equal or higher ranks/scores can participate in seat allotment.
4- Seat Alottment Process
Seats are allocated to the students based on their scores/ ranks achieved in JEE Mains. In addition, the choice filling of BTech specialisation also plays an important role in the allocation of the seats.
5- Document Verification and Physical Reporting in the College
Candidates are required to bring all the documents in original along with one set of self-attested documents (signed on every page) & all the forms along with the fee receipt for the institute balance fee payment (Other than JoSAA/ CSAB-2026/ DASA-2026 online payments). It is the responsibility of a candidate to produce all the requisite documents at the time of physical reporting. Any misinformation or forged document shall lead to the cancellation of the admission without any further notice.
6- Admission Confirmation
After the selection rounds, students are shortlisted and submit the fee and confirm their admission to the relevant course at NIT Kurukshetra. The total tuition fee for a BTech course at NIT Kurukshetra is INR 5 lakh - Rs. 6.3 lakh.

With this low rank frankly speaking it's not possible to get admission in any branch of BTech in NIT Kurukshetra. When I went through previous results of NIT on their official Website I found that the closing rank in any branch was around 6000 in all disciplines. But you can try with OS categorises

You can get CSE in GFTI as per the JoSSA counselling cutoff last year. You cannot get any branch, like CSE, ECE in NIT at this rank.
