In 2015-16, oil sector jobs were widely cut by the industry, so placements were not good.
Placements: Placements in branches like petroleum and chemical engineering are excellent, even though the field is not competitive. It is dominant. In this field, placements are better than many and top IITs these days. Other branches like ECE and MnC are good.
Infrastructure: Labs are good. Classrooms are also good. There are some issues with Wi-Fi as it does not work or there are signal problems, but in today's world, where 5G exists, we can compromise with this. The library and medical facilities are very good. The college gives us very good treatment at no cost without any limits. They charge only Rs. 1,000 for a medical treatment.
Faculty: Professors are knowledgeable and qualified. Professors are helpful to every student. Their behavior is also good. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate. They are supportive in a bad phase.

RGIPT (worth going or not).
Placements: Placement scenario in our college is very poor, most of the tech branches have very low placement. However, the chemical and petroleum branches have decent placement opportunities. While for tech branches, very few companies visit the campus for recruitment. A very low percentage of students got an internship or placement offer on campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our college is very good. It has a clean and green campus with Wi-Fi all around campus, a modern lab, and classrooms. Though the condition of the library is very poor in our college with most necessary books absent only course-relevant books are present and in small numbers too. The food in the mess is decent, better than most of the colleges. Medical facilities though, are not good at all. The same is the condition for sports, fewer TT tables, no indoor badminton court, but it is improving.
Faculty: The curriculum of college is so random and not up to the mark because of a lack of faculty members. The teachers here are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable, but due to a lack of faculty members they are overloaded with courses, which they fails to deliver their best. The course curriculum is not relevant at all, it fails to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are at a decent level mostly to test concept and understanding of the subject rather than mugging. Almost the majority of students pass in a given course.
Other: The college is located in a remote area so not much is there in the campus surroundings. Also, the fests are not as good as they are in some other colleges, it's basically all the fests happen in the first week of November though fests are getting better. If the college improves its coursework and adds more faculty and improves its placement scenario, it would be a better return on investment.

Fairly satisfied, hoping for companies to visit the campus for Tech Branches.
Placements: Tech Branches are new here, so placement stats are low. The highest package was given by Flipkart at 33 LPA. More companies are coming, such as Analog Devices, Grow, and PhonePe. Many more companies came to the campus, and sessions are ongoing too (2026 batch). The Teach Branches have shifted to the Bangalore campus for their final year.
Infrastructure: Here at the Bangalore Campus, the facilities are worse and still under construction. Jais campus is good. All facilities are there. Labs are good and classrooms too. The library is very small. The mess and canteen are decent enough. Medical facilities are available, and sports events are also conducted too.
Faculty: Teachers are good, but the course structure is worse. They teach only the book concepts and focus on exams, not on real-life job skills. Semester exams are not that difficult; the pass percentage is great. They conduct labs and workshops, but they are not useful as they are quite outdated.

Satisfied because of quality education & good infrastructure.
Placements: Around 50% of the batch gets placed. The highest package provided was 33 LPA, and the least was 5 LPA. Top recruiters were Flipkart, Grow, Swiss Re, Accenture, Maersk, JP Morgan, and Case and Ray Vector. Flipkart offers the highest package with a CTC of 33 LPA. Around 60% of students have received internships from my course in companies like Future First, Amazon, Grow, Maersk, Swiss Re, and Accenture. Top roles offered were Software Development Engineer and Data Science Engineer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi in classrooms and hostels, computer labs, electronics lab, and labs for workshops are provided on the campus. Classrooms are fully furnished and have centralized AC installed in them. The library is well-maintained. Books are present for the semester exams as well as placement and GATE. The mess food is nutritious, having good quality, and we get four meals a day. Sports facilities like a cricket ground, table tennis, badminton court, football ground, and basketball court are available. Also, there are special rooms for indoor games.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified from foreign universities. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum aligns with competitive exams like GATE and placements. The difficulty of the semester exam is moderate, usually covering what is taught in the class. The pass CGPA is 5.
Other: There are three annual fests in our college: Urjotsav (annual tech fest), Energia (annual sports fest), and Kaltarang (annual cultural fest). The top 10% of students from each branch get a merit-cum-means scholarship based on academic score.

Feels a little high than IITs though it is a central government college.
Placements: We have a batch strength of 58 students in Electronic Engineering. Around 70 percent of the students are placed in the EE branch. The average package is 10 LPA. There is no company going to come below 8 LPA from this year 2025 according to the director’s instructions. There is an analog company that came to hire at 31 LPA for EE students.
Infrastructure: Hostels are pretty good. They have provided spacious rooms, clean and the finest. There are proper facilities of Wi-Fi and library, IIT-type classrooms. Labs are fully equipped with machines and instruments. One best thing is the good mess food quality. It feels like homemade food. There are also sports facilities of all kinds, including indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers mainly come who have done Ph.D. or Masters from abroad. I might say that they are qualified enough. The curriculum is good, there is a lab and workshop every week. Basically, semester exams are easy for those who study a little bit. They repeat questions from previous years. Almost 90 percent of students pass the semester examination (not sure).
Other: One thing I would like to add is that RGIPT has good JEE Advanced students, which provides a competitive environment. Though it feels a little higher than the IITs, it maintains the quality.

Not very satisfied, but I did not have any other option, so it's okay to study here.
Placements: So, talking about placements, the Petroleum and Chemical branches are way better here. We can see PSUs for them, and for CSE, ECE, EV, MNC, and IT, we have quite low numbers. The teaching branches are shifted to the Bangalore Campus for their final year. A few companies visited the campus in Bangalore. Now, for my batch, companies are coming, and hopes are high. The highest till now from our year is Flipkart for 33 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel is new, and the facilities are great at the Amethi campus. Food is decent, and labs are fully equipped, but the library is small for the crowd. Now, talking about the Bangalore Campus, the hostel is very new, but there are no good facilities at all. Wi-Fi is horrible here compared to the Amethi campus. Connectivity is okay at Amethi, but at Bangalore, it's very far from the city.
Faculty: The curriculum is not good at all (I am talking with respect to my branch, EV). The faculty focuses mainly on GATE and government job exams, and lastly, Ph.D. exams. No proper guidance or help for placement and job-ready skills; they only want us to attend lectures and score marks, which depend on rote learning.
Other: I chose my course, i.e., Electrical Eng. Major in EV, because I wish to learn a core branch. However, that major in EV is just a gimmick. The campus crowd is good, and events are great. Fests occur at a great level too.
