B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2026
2.4
RGIPT (worth going or not).
Placements: Placement scenario in our college is very poor, most of the tech branches have very low placement. However, the chemical and petroleum branches have decent placement opportunities. While for tech branches, very few companies visit the campus for recruitment. A very low percentage of students got an internship or placement offer on campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our college is very good. It has a clean and green campus with Wi-Fi all around campus, a modern lab, and classrooms. Though the condition of the library is very poor in our college with most necessary books absent only course-relevant books are present and in small numbers too. The food in the mess is decent, better than most of the colleges. Medical facilities though, are not good at all. The same is the condition for sports, fewer TT tables, no indoor badminton court, but it is improving.
Faculty: The curriculum of college is so random and not up to the mark because of a lack of faculty members. The teachers here are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable, but due to a lack of faculty members they are overloaded with courses, which they fails to deliver their best. The course curriculum is not relevant at all, it fails to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are at a decent level mostly to test concept and understanding of the subject rather than mugging. Almost the majority of students pass in a given course.
Other: The college is located in a remote area so not much is there in the campus surroundings. Also, the fests are not as good as they are in some other colleges, it's basically all the fests happen in the first week of November though fests are getting better. If the college improves its coursework and adds more faculty and improves its placement scenario, it would be a better return on investment.

B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.2
Feels a little high than IITs though it is a central government college.
Placements: We have a batch strength of 58 students in Electronic Engineering. Around 70 percent of the students are placed in the EE branch. The average package is 10 LPA. There is no company going to come below 8 LPA from this year 2025 according to the director’s instructions. There is an analog company that came to hire at 31 LPA for EE students.
Infrastructure: Hostels are pretty good. They have provided spacious rooms, clean and the finest. There are proper facilities of Wi-Fi and library, IIT-type classrooms. Labs are fully equipped with machines and instruments. One best thing is the good mess food quality. It feels like homemade food. There are also sports facilities of all kinds, including indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers mainly come who have done Ph.D. or Masters from abroad. I might say that they are qualified enough. The curriculum is good, there is a lab and workshop every week. Basically, semester exams are easy for those who study a little bit. They repeat questions from previous years. Almost 90 percent of students pass the semester examination (not sure).
Other: One thing I would like to add is that RGIPT has good JEE Advanced students, which provides a competitive environment. Though it feels a little higher than the IITs, it maintains the quality.

B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2028
2.6
This college is not for teach branches.
Placements: Here, B. Teach in electronic engineering started in 2020. So, the first batch passed out in 2024. There are 30 total students in the electronic branch, out of which 8 students are placed. Two of them were off-campus. The average CTC is 9 LPA and the highest package offered is 17 LPA, which is of course off-campus.
Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi is available. There are 2 or 3 washing machines on each floor. A floor consists of 30-35 rooms. The rooms are quite spacious and in good condition. Food quality is so-so and the canteen is also there. A cafe is also inside the campus. For small injuries, there is a medical center, and of course, it is free of cost. Sports facilities need to be improved.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, but we all know that qualifications and ways of teaching are different. Some of the faculty members are good at teaching, while you have to compromise with some of them. The course curriculum is relevant, but it doesn't make you ready for the industry, especially for tech branches.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the placement culture.
Placements: The students placed this year, 2024, were around 65%, with the majority in petroleum and chemical branches. The minimum package was 5 LPA and the maximum was 24 LPA. For petroleum and chemical branches, companies like ONGC, HPCL, IOCL, and HLS recruited. For other branches, there are no specific companies as they are all new branches. About 40% of students are doing internships in my branch, but most of them are off-campus; only one company specifically came for our branch, and only 3 were selected. In my course, there is a wide field in both tech and non-tech areas like chip design, communication engineering, VLSI, Verilog engineers, research, and many more.
Infrastructure: There is everything required in a college, but the only disadvantage is that our college is situated in a very remote area, so there isn't much exciting outside. Additionally, they are admitting tons of students, making it hard for survival in terms of area and resources.
Faculty: Teachers are undoubtedly very qualified and teach nicely, but the syllabus is very outdated and not very useful from a competitive point of view. Also, the exam and syllabus pattern is too boring to adopt, and they give relative marking, which makes it tough.

RGIPT: Best College for Chemical and Petroleum Only.
Placements: As the teaching branches are new and 2024 was the first batch of ECE to pass out, the placement stats were not so good. However, a few of them received offers from Micron and Cadence, and a few were GATE Rankers, AIR 52 and AIR 76. Students get the opportunity for industrial training at HAL Korba.
Infrastructure: Best hostel facilities and excellent mess service. A health center is available, and students receive funds if referred to any hospital. The sports facility is good, with a football ground and courts for volleyball and basketball. There is 24x7 Wi-Fi facility with fully air-conditioned classrooms.
Faculty: The curriculum followed is from IIT Kanpur, so there is nothing more to say. The professors here are highly qualified, with PhDs from IITs and abroad. Exams follow the pattern of Mid Semester and End Semester, with a good level of toughness. Scoring marks is relatively easy due to the system of relative marking.
Other: There are three main inter-college events: for sports, it's Energia; for cultural events, it's Kaltarang; and for the tech fest, it's Urjotsav. Intra-mural competitions are held every year.

Good infrastructure and hostel.
Placements: RGPt is basically an institute built for the petroleum and chemical branches. But in 2021, it added CS Electronic. Hence, only one batch has passed until now. Honestly speaking, only 3 of my seniors were placed. Others prepared for GATE and opted for higher studies. College does not have any effect on calling companies at all.
Infrastructure: The hotel campus is very neat and clean, and the rooms are quite airy and spacious. 2 students stay in a single room. Facilities like Wi-Fi, washing machines, a gym, and indoor and outdoor game areas are provided. The Mess facility is also very good. Proper diets for the students are planned. The hostel and mess facility are good.
Faculty: Some of the faculties are quite good. They are highly educated, some from outside India. The course curriculum is relevant, and major subjects are covered in the GATE examination. And important in industry. Exams are very difficult, and the marking scheme is also very difficult.
Other: The college capmus is located in a village area; hence, it is very difficult to organise any event. But the student chapters put in effort and organized the festival. College provides a recession in feels of 25% for the top 10 percent of batch. A disadvantage of this scholarship is that you can't opt for any other scholarships from the state or central government.

satisfied till date, infrastructures and facilities are good.
Placements: About 80_90 percent of students placed in the previous batches with the highest package of about 24 LPA, and the lowest package of about 5 LPA. Companies like Iocl, hpcl, and byjus, were top recruiters. We are the First batch and in the second year itself, everyone got an intern in hal, drdo, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are excellent compared to other institutes. High-speed Wi-Fi, labs are available with all facilities, AC classrooms, are well furnished, and the same is for the library on the campus. Hostel facilities are up to the mark and the campus hospital is also there.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, Maximum faculty members have done the M.Tech and Ph.D. from IITs and foreign institutes and are knowledgeable, the course Curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students ready for the industry in and beyond the country. Semester exams are medium in level.
Other: I was interested in electronics engineering from the beginning so I picked it.

Absolutely dissatisfied with campus life and the environment created by students.
Placements: No students are placed till now because it's the new branch in this college. The 1st batch will get placed in 2024. Modular courses are being offered regularly by the industry experts. The top recruiting companies are IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, ONGC etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent and has a library, room, playground (basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, badminton, football and cricket ground). Good quality food is served in the mess. The night canteen is open till 2:30 pm over night, with high prices and bad quality food.
Faculty: The curriculum is copied from IIT-BHU, and it is designed for students to get good marks in GATE. The teachers are helpful, and semester exams are tough enough, with 95% of students pass. All teachers are well qualified and PhD scholars from good IITs with 3 to 4 years of experience.
Other: Student chapter events are held at regular intervals. But there is no fest. The college offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and PhD courses.
