DU SOL Highlights 2025
SOL, DU was established in 1962. DUSOL is also recognised by the UGC. This is the first institution in the field of Distance Education in India. Moreover, SOLDU also has a South Study Center at South Moti Bagh, New Delhi. Campus of Open Learning Delhi University offers DU SOL courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. DU SOL courses are offered under 15 departments such as Management, Commerce, English, Hindi, History, Tamil, Economics, Urdu, Punjabi, Political Science, Sanskrit and Environmental Studies, among others.

Yes, the School of Open Learning, DU has a placement cell. As per the official website, the DU SOL placement cell organised a drive for Business Development Executive (Axis Bank) jointly with NIIT Ltd. Around 800 students registered for the profile and 48 students appeared for the interview. As per the official report, 21 students from the School of Open Learning appeared for the first round of interviews, out of which 15 students were selected. Admission to the MBA course in SOL is based on merit in the degree course. During the selection, 80% weightage is for graduation marks and 20% weightage of marks for professional work experience. Additionally, 20% for four years of experience, 15% for three years, 10% for two years and so on. Some other categories for admission are:
- For MBBS/BDS/MD/MDS degree holders or persons having experience in hospital administration with 2 years.
- For Group A officers of govt. and public undertaking organisations having graduation in any discipline.
- For those having experience of 2 or more years in corporate houses/hospitality and transportation sector/industry/service sector/ self-employed professionals.
SOL DU degree is valuable as it is recognised by the UGC and is a pioneer institution in the field of distance education in India. No, the CUET score is not mandatory for admission to the School of Open Learning, the University of Delhi undergraduate and postgraduate courses. DU SOL admission to UG courses is based on candidates' performance in their Class 12 examination. For postgraduate courses, 50% of the total intake will be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi. Rest 50% of the seats will be filled through entrance examination and interview/ group discussion if any.
