I am satisfied with the facilities, culture, good infrastructure, and placements.
Placements: At least 60% of the students were placed in renowned companies. Since I was from the JMC department, many got placed in news agencies. The cost of the course was 1.90 Lacs for a 3-year course. It had all the amenities, worth every penny. Top roles include Journalism, PR, news agencies, and content.
Infrastructure: Our college provided Wi-Fi connection, Apple ecosystem, Mac computers, SMART class, a projector, AV room, and each room had 2 ACs. Also, a canteen that served good food. Sports and games were also there. Shri Shikshayatan ticks all the facilities. Not to forget great teachers who guide all along.
Faculty: Teachers were great, helpful, and knowledgeable. Course was very relevant and made students future-ready. Semester exams were not difficult, exactly what a student needs. Almost all the students passed with flying colors in each semester.
Other: I chose this course because I am great at speaking as well as writing, which is important for journalism. As far as my knowledge goes, everything was good. Events were amazing and we had a fest known as Shrijan.

Review of Shri Shikshayatan College.
Placements: Placements for this course are not good. We will hardly get any placement for the field we are studying, but it is great for other departments like B.Com, BBA, and other B.A. The placement rate is not that great. If students depend upon the college for their placements, then they will be disappointed.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are built with AC, monitors, and other required equipment. It has its own practical lab like a Mac lab. The library is available with the required books. There is a hostel in Behala that we can enroll in if we prefer, by talking about it in the college office.
Faculty: Faculty members are great. There are expert teachers for the course. They are quite helpful. There is one internal exam of 10 marks. The semester-end exam is for 70 or 60 marks and it depends upon the subject. The practical exam is of 20 marks, 10 writing, and 10 practicals.
Other: I chose this course because the course is quite interesting if we find the right place, which is not Shri Shikshayatan College. For other courses like B.Com, BBA, and B.A, it is quite good but not for this particular course.

Journalism and Mass communication - Shri Shikshayatan.
Placements: For my specific course, very little placements are available. The highest package is 10 LPA. Most famous company is Hoichoi where only 5 students got in. There are a variety of different roles offered but it all depends on what our choices are in the fields.
Infrastructure: We have labs and classrooms for our course but some devices do not function. Hostels are all nice. They have good facilities as well. It is a little far from campus so the transport needs to be arranged by the students. But public transport is easily accessible.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable as well. The curriculum is relevant and theory-wise. Semester exams are not difficult if we put effort into studying. Pass percentage is 35%. Other than that, the practical experience here is not a lot, it's just the basics.
Other: We do not have any big fests but we do have small ones like BBA department has Podium, JMC department has Elysium, and B.Com department has Udaan.

Love the learning and life experience that this college is still teaching me.
Placements: Placements for our course are pretty average. Most of the companies that come for recruitment are Kolkata-based small forms. Almost 20-30% of students got placed among 100%. Roles offered are writers, marketing bizops, associates, and journalists.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not that great. It just has a building as campus has no ground or anything of that sort. Classrooms have good infrastructure. Every room has an air-conditioner and projector. We have a separate yoga room and game room. We also have a room for small events to be conducted. Washrooms are pretty clean and hygiene is maintained properly. We have our separate Mac lab and a computer lab. The quality of food in the canteen is really good. We have a separate medical chamber.
Faculty: Teachers are pretty helpful, funny, and reliable. Each professor is very qualified and a journalist has worked at a particular renowned media house. The course is very much relevant till today. It also makes students industry-ready by making them work on practical projects like making a newspaper, writing articles, creating a news bulletin, making documents, building a website, and many other practical projects. Semester exams are pretty much the same as other colleges like it happens after six months of interval. The passing percentage is 40% for each paper.
Other: This course is very much practical rather than just building as a book worms. It helps us to build practical knowledge about media, and the impact of media on today's society. Also how media have developed and its integration into society. People's life and many other such things. Including more and more practical work and not just one project per semester would improve the variability of this course. We do have small events and fests according to society and also we have a college fest Srijan. Different societal activities like dance, drama, singing, film, photos, sports, debate, consulting, and many more are conducted.

I had a decent experience in this college.
Placements: For our department, there were only limited placement opportunities. Around 20-25% of students get placed in our course. Most of the students find internship opportunities at the college. The average package offered for our course was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Storyemedia, Times India, India Magazines, etc.
Infrastructure: Our course department has facilities like a library, Wi-Fi, canteen, water cooler, cleaned toilets, etc., in the college. The college campus was fully secured. Food served in the canteen was good to eat and offered at reasonable prices. The college hostel was also good. Food at the hostel mess was also good.
Faculty: Faculty in our course were very experienced in the field of teaching. Most of the teachers have been teaching here for the last 5-10 years. All of them were qualified and knowledgeable. They supported students in all possible situations. Exams were not hard to pass. The course curriculum was relevant.

Our college has an amazing infrastructure and faculty members. Placements are not so good.
Placements: Placements for our course are not adequate. Companies visit our college for placements are not appropriate for our job roles. However, many students got an internship here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was the best. There is a huge computer lab for practicals with pre-installed Mac devices. The library has almost a hundred different sections of books. We had a canteen that had CCD, and it was spacious enough.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Our faculty members quality was top-notch. Our course was very industry-friendly as top industrialists visit our college as guest lecturers. Semester exams are a little difficult and tricky. The pass percentage was almost 90%.

Our college does not provide placements.
Placements: Placements are not available in our college. It is one of the most disciplined colleges under Calcutta University, but there are no placement opportunities for our course. This college is not for students who are looking for scholarships.
Infrastructure: Canteen is average, but we are not allowed to use phones in college. Labs are average, but classrooms have air-conditioners which are also average according to the fees we pay. I am not highly satisfied with the infrastructure of our college. It is average, but it is clean.
Faculty: Teachers here are helpful, and our HOD is very helpful. Teachers have great knowledge and oratory skills. They try to help us with every information they have but not all of them. They are extremely supportive and help to uplift our confidence.

Overall, I am satisfied with the learning experience from this college.
Placements: There were no immediate campus recruitments even for courses like journalism and mass communication, but they inform you about vacancies in different media outlets. Although various clubs and add on courses provided in the college will expand your knowledge base and will not be a hindrance in any case.
Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi facility was available for all students. Classrooms were spacious and air-conditioned. Apple desktops were provided for journalism classes. Huge computer classes were available with all the updated technology. The campus life is good. One can make good friends to enjoy college life. The library is huge and has a lot of books for all departments in the college. Books are regularly updated with the curriculum. There are a yoga room and a common room with gym equipment for recreation and games facilities such as table tennis and carrom.
Faculty: The college has highly qualified teachers. They were very polite, helpful and easily approachable. They used the smart board for teaching. Classes were well-organised. Teachers had a personal rapport with all students present in the class. No industry exposure was provided. Even though we did a course by paying high fees, we had to look for internship opportunities on our own with no help from college.
Other: A grand fest called Srijan is celebrated every year. Celebrities are invited, and the campus crowd during the fest was high. The college frequently participates in the events conducted by other colleges, curricular activities participation, sports activities such as rowing etc.

Generally there is a minimum 55% requirement to get admission in any mass comm college but still depends the upon the college. Like NIMCJ a mass communication college in India require 55% in graduation for PG course.
