B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication - Batch of 2029
5.0
Overall, I recommend it for those who want good exposure.
Placements: I am not placed as I am a 2nd-year student now. Talking about internships, college provides good internships. I have also heard positive reviews from students who have already graduated. Internships and placements somewhat depend on how students perform throughout the year and on their skills.
Infrastructure: Facilities are up to the mark. Library access and access to the sports complex are included within the course fees. There are three canteens as well. The food is not free, but it is comparatively affordable. The gym is also accessible to students for free, but there are different timings for day scholars and hostelers.
Faculty: Faculty members are truly helpful and cooperative in this department. The exposure provided is great. There are no compromises with academics even during events. Amity is quite strict about attendance and academics. Faculty members are always available to help when needed, especially in this department.
Other: I chose this college because of the good exposure for my course. Fests and events are up to the mark. But the only problem is the ground floor washrooms of A-block.

Satisfied because of the faculty, good infrastructure, and good hostel rooms but awful rules.
Placements: There sure are many companies that do visit the college but only in the past two years. Our department has been going through a wash-out drive wherein none of the students get selected for jobs by the available companies, which surely shows how they were not prepared enough to crack the job interview. It shows how the college lacks the ability to teach properly.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college, for sure, is too good, with air-conditioned classes, auditoriums and canteens, clean hostel rooms and washrooms. But the canteen food is average, and the hostel rules make living there very inconvenient, like no cooked meals allowed in the rooms, no iron, theater or kettles allowed, passes required to go outside the campus on with parents permission, sometimes even the HOD's permission, and sometimes even with all permission, one is not allowed to leave; time restrictions prevail. You can't leave your room after 10 p.m. to go get food from canteens, and so on. The medical rooms have 0% hygiene maintenance.
Faculty: Exam dates keep changing until the last minute. You may have an exam scheduled for a particular day and be informed on the same morning that your exam has been postponed. The teachers never complete the course on time nor do they ever provide proper notes. Practical skills are something that seriously needs to be focused on because the way you teach never prepares you for the industry. Pass percentage is still easy to achieve, as most teachers mark your face for the internals that are keeping in mind your class performance and not your exam performance.
Other: The course sure is very good and I have no complaints regarding it. The college lacks proper teaching faculty members for the subjects but has perfect subjects for the course. So anyone planning on joining this course will have to be prepared for putting in all the efforts from your end to prepare a good CV for yourself, as the college doesn't prepare you perfectly for everything but college life for sure is happening and exciting, with many clubs to join and many events to participate in and show off your talents and skills.

The library is a nice place.
Placements: I have currently enrolled in campus placement. The college provides grooming classes where they teach us how to present us during an interview. Sometimes the classes are cancelled as students don't attend them. Got internships basically unpaid which I regretted doing because they asked me to do the internship which I didn't want to. Also, this was a rule so I couldn't do much.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite aesthetically pleasing and perfect spot for photoshoots. However, the Wi-Fi doesn't even work. I have registered my Mac address but as expected it doesn't work which gave me hard time doing my assignments. Classrooms are air-conditioned.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful those who know who to deal with academics but whenever students are need faculty isn't helpful. Every time they give one reason is talking to the management. However, female teachers try their best to help us. Some male teachers are good too.
Other: If you want to study, I kindly request you to go for any other institution. Due to pandemic, I couldn't attend classes in college but even now when I'm back to campus, you can easily score 9 CGPA here if you follow your teachers. Teachers are partial and they do their favorites. Also, they also give proxy to the students who don't even attend the classes. Sometimes they even allow late commers to attend the classes which shouldn't be allowed.

Review for Amity University of Kolkata.
Placements: 80% of students got placed in our branch year. The highest salary package was 7 LPA and the lowest salary package was 3 LPA. Some top recruiters were Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, Philips, etc. There for the best candidate selection. If you are good at communication skills then you will get a good package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good and the canteen food was also good enough and hygienic. Library and labs facilities are also available there for the students. Well-trained coached for the sports and games to enhance skills in the field of sports for the students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well qualified. Exams are easy and helpful for future purposes to get jobs. There is the availability of doubts sessions by which students can clear other subjects' doubts easily through those sessions. We are introduced to the course curriculum from the beginning.

Satisfied with Amity's work.
Placements: There is about 70 per cent of students who have been placed in reputed companies like Amazon, Republic TV, etc. The top roles offered in courses are in marketing, advertisement and anchoring, reporting. NDTV channels have come to recruit students and even telecast one live session of the campus on TV.
Infrastructure: The facility is really student-friendly and the campus is huge. The quality of food is okay but there is a lot of variations. There is Wi-Fi inside the campus and the library has a variety of books. One can spend time In the library to grasp knowledge and get the help if needed.
Faculty: The teachers are student-friendly and helpful. The course curriculum is relevant and updated. The pass percentage is above 40 and if one studies well, one can score well. Amity teaches students to be corporate ready and gives situations where one learns to overcome and come up with solutions.
Other: I chose this course as I wanted to continue it in the future. The events and feasts are mega-events with special celebrities coming to perform. There are a lot of extracurricular activities and there is an annual sports event called Sangathan.

Life is worth at Amity University with the best teachers and infrastructure.
Placements: Around 90% of the students got placed in our course with no minimum package offered to any of the students. Many top recruiting companies like PromoteEdge, and Kacha Chaitra visit the campus for recruitment. They offered top roles like content head, social media marketer, and many more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is too good in our college with the top-class hostel and food quality. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned with a big whiteboard for teachers. The food served is entirely vegetarian with a lot of variety. The canteen is well furnished with a proper sitting area.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful as well as qualified in every aspect. We have a good extra-curriculum which helps students in many ways. The exams aren't so difficult. If students prepare and follow the class, students can easily pass with a good percentage.
Other: I chose this course because it was my dream to become a journalist. I am happy that I chose this institution as it has helped me a lot in my academics and curricular activities. The yearly fests held are the best.

I am moderately satisfied because the placements and salary packages offered aren't good.
Placements: In our course, about 30% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Radio Mirchi, ETV Group, Addatimes, ABP News and Calcutta TV. Almost 80% of the students got internships from the course. Tops roles such as PR manager, cameraman, reporter, etc., are offered.
Infrastructure: The best part about our college is its infrastructure and facilities. It is highly equipped with Wi-Fi, Hitech labs, etc. There is a huge library and good classrooms along with centralised air-conditioners in the whole building. Everything is top-class. Hostel rooms are top-class, but I am not satisfied with the quality of food. Apart from that, there is regular medical care, events for sports and various games. Everything is good.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and great. They are always ready to help us. Smart classes with well-equipped modern technologies are available to provide practical insights in theory classes. Teachers are efficient in their respective fields. The course curriculum is relevant in today's generation as today everyone is keen to know everything going on. Moreover, this course gives us a choice to deliver the knowledge. The course is industry-based, but we are not getting any industry exposure. Semester exams are quite hard, and the pass percentage is above 93%.
Other: I have chosen this course to be vocal about the happenings around the world and to gain confidence. The benefit of this course is it gives us the platform to gain confidence and speak about our rights. If there were more industry exposure and practical classes, then it would have been much better. Events, fests, campus crowd and surroundings are top-notch.

Infrastructure and facility are good but poor placements.
Placements: Almost 10% of the students got placed. The highest salary offered was Rs.30,000 per month. The lowest salary offered was Rs.10,000 per month. ETV Group is the top recruiting company. Associates are the top role offered to students. The highest salary package offered was 3 LPA. The average salary package offered was 2 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA. Almost 80% of students got an internship from our course. Many companies from different segments like media, production house, PR companies, etc., visited our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The best part about Amity is its infrastructure and facilities. It is highly-equipped with Wi-Fi. Labs are available for every department. There is a library and also a games room, etc. Everything was A-class, be it the hostel rooms, classrooms or any other things.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful and qualified except for few. The teaching quality was good, but it could have been better. Many faculty members joining and leaving the college in between the course was somewhere disturbing. The course curriculum was relevant, especially in today's world, where everyone is very keen to know everything.
Other: I have chosen this course as I wanted to be the voice of the mass. It made me more confident as a person. There should be less subject and introduction of the specialisation course.
